  1. I've asked for recommendations from folks from some fishing message board or something. I'll let you know how it works out in about a month.
  2. John, you just made me an offer I can't refuse.
  3. I'm sooooo hungry. To hell with the pike derby, I suggest a cook off instead. I love bbq ribs, I really do.
  4. Leave everything packed until you need it. Kitchen, linens, etc., obviously get unpacked right away, but leave everything else until the need is there. Then, in two years, throw the leftovers out. Buddy didn't do this and actually moved stuff three times that was never unpacked. Guess it's garbage now.
  5. Of course it would be half as bad, o little one.
  6. Mano a mano full contact fishing. That's a great story! That's a trick that pike won't be trying again.
  7. Speaking of hats, I don't get the whole ball cap thing when fishing. They cover the top of your head just fine, and mebbee your beak, but not well, and not anything else like your ears or the back of your neck. Get yerself a proper sun hat, like the one stylishly worn by Tybo.
  8. Great, joey. Nice to see that smiling face of yours again. Congrats to Paul on that fine lookin salmon, too!
  9. A great achievement all the way from concept and planning thru execution and even reporting! Way to go, guys. You are rightly entitled to those big grins.
  10. What a shame, Jeff. Good luck on your quest.
  11. I've never done that, but I would guess that you need a fast sinking line, and expect that you will find them down 10 - 20 ft.
  12. Ahhh, DanC. Now I see what you mean about these GPSQuebec maps. They have much more detail. Fiendishly expensive tho, especially compared to the TopoCanada I borrowed from a third party for a handshake and a smile.
  13. That is one butt ugly trophy, but it does have a certain je ne sais quoi. And no, I'm not bitter.
  14. I 'stumble upon'ed lolcats, and then found the lolrus. This interweb is a very strange place.
  15. Yup. The topo map is great, it shows everything except water depth. And I mean everything! Since the screen updates so quickly, it will put you right on the bridge over the Credit on 403 at 120 Kph. You can test drive the map on Garmin's website. Look for the MapSource viewer on the upper right hand side of the page.
  16. I think that GPS City has the best price in Canada, and no pst too.
  17. Great report, Phil. Thanks for that post on your trip with Connie, Snady and Reefhog. How could you not have a great time with a crew like that? Nice toothy critter, too. I get my turn to put a hurt on some nw Ontario feesh in 5 weeks, and those great pictures get me droolin'.
  18. Snag, just give your walrus her bucket back already.
  19. Rizzo, that was funny right there. No arrogance in your family, I see, you have all of it (tee hee).
  20. Like Terry, I have a Garmin. Mine is the 76CSX. The x means expandable memory - I have the topo map of most of Canada in it. I also like the fact that it is waterproof and floats.
