Getting a Honda ready for the season?
lookinforwalleye replied to ilario's topic in General Discussion
Leisure marine they are on Hwy 7 in Woodbridge 905 851-5752 For the extra buck or 2 that 4 stroke oil costs it is cheap insurance. I don`t know what a Honda fuel filter looks like but I would assume it is similar to others a opaque cylinder shape with connection on either end it should be clearly visible. -

Getting a Honda ready for the season?
lookinforwalleye replied to ilario's topic in General Discussion
I don`t know about a older Honda 4 stroke but I would call or visit a Honda marine dealer and ask his opinion,my owners manual says do not use car engine oil only marine grade engine oil apparently it has additives makes sense since marine engines run at much higer rev`s than car engines. For the gear oil I beleive a regular 90 weight gear oil would be fine put again check with the dealer. Changing the fuel filter and spark plugs would be a good idea they are cheap you don`t want to get stuck on the lake because of fouled plugs. As far as a flushing attachment on your motor I don`t know but again on mine there is a flushing attachement by the owners manual clearly states not to run your engine while using this attachement. -
Americans have it made they have the cheapest gas in the world. Everybody has choices if you want to drive a Escalade and tow the 250HP Bass boat then you pay through the nose, you could drive a VW diesel and tow 12 foot tinny with a 6 HP 4 stroke, don`t get me wrong I don`t like high fuel prices I own a boat and a trailer that I drive to every weekend so I spend a fair amount on gas but I enjoy my free time and I can afford it for the time being but everyone should realize the prices on average will continue to rise then we will have to decide if we want to go out for dinner or do we want to put gas in the boat.

It was kind of funny in a morbid way, I am sure it was very traumatic for the Bass.

I hear Canal lake has some Pike I used to fish this lake many years ago when there was no Pike in the lake, caught my personal best LM&SM Bass from Canal.

The nerve of the guy I hope your dad had a few choice words for the busy body. At first I thought you were going to say a snapper got your catch I have had that happen before years ago 2 nice Bass ready to clean left them on the stringer come back later and all I have left is lips.

Gee I always thought Lund`s were perfect(tongue firmly planted in cheek) apparently not. Wayne your a better man than me if that would have happen to my new 20K Alumacraft I would have freaked,There is no exuse for the shoddy workmanship for any priced boat let alone a boat that cost a lot more than my first house. The dealer needs to accept some resposibility for this as well for them to deliver a rig at anything less than pristine condition is unacceptable. I hope everything works for you. -
I vote for Toronto Maple Leaf season ticket holders, cup less for 30 years while getting screwed every year by management. That certainly has to qualify as a wonder!

The key to finding early season eyes on the BOG is green weed find the new weed growth and you will find Walleye if your fishing last years dead weed you won`t catch much.

It was kinda funny!

Good luck to all the Walleye anglers this weekend!

Yipee the motor is fixed and I will be on the water this weekend. Big thanks to the boys at Seaway Marine in Whitby for getting me fixed up. -
I had one many years ago took it out fishing once at the base of small waterfall where Walleye like to hang out and that was the last time my fishing buddy hooked into a nice 10 plus pound Walleye and with the fast water and use bouncing around in a rubber boat it made landing the fish very difficult I ended up with my fingers in the fishes mouth and a couple of trebles in my fingers for good measure. Saw a couple of guys at Scugog last year in a small rubber boat the guy in the front twice hit his buddy in the head while casting the last time it must of hurt because he doubled over in pain there was some yelling and screaming but I couldn`t understand the language.

This will be the first opening I will be missing on the Bog in sometime due to a minor motor problem that unfortunately will not be fixed in time for the opener due to backlogs of service at the dealers ( I knew I should have been a marine mechanic) some were quoting 3 to 4 weeks, oh well maybe I`ll get the rod out and jig the canals at Goreski`s I saw some guy catch a Walleye in there last year that was bigger than anything I have seen at Scugog in years. Good Luck all and C&R one for me.

RESPECTFUL FISHING - BLURRING PHOTOGRAPHS
lookinforwalleye replied to snag's topic in General Discussion
Personally I tend to ignore pictures that have been doctored I have no interest in them go buy a fish from the fish store and photo shop that to me it has the same effect. Do you guys get upset when one of the local fishing shows do an episode from a local lake seems to me that would have a much more negative affect. The way I look at this subject is simple these spots that people want to try and keep all to themselves have been around for years and no doubt the protectionist out there were probably introduced to the "spot" by a fellow angler, magazine, internet site etc. and now they want to try and keep the spot to themselves seems kind of selfish to me. Who died and left you king of the "spot" -
I think I fried the impellor on my F90!
lookinforwalleye replied to lookinforwalleye's topic in General Discussion
The motor is a 2004, I bought it August of last year and the dealer said he changed the impellor. My previous motor was a 10 year old 2 stroke rude and it had the original inpellor and it ran fine, I have heard that some people will change the impellor every other year as a precautionary measure. I checked the lower intakes and they seem clear I also disconnected the tube and blew air into it and the air was going threw no obstructions. My dealer suggested i put the boat in the water and start the engine and see if that helps, I just hate to start it dry and risk doing further damage. What do you guys? -
MY BOAT SANK! NEED HELP (update #3, May 9)
lookinforwalleye replied to young_one's topic in General Discussion
I would have to lean toward the swamped theory, the boat is moored with the transom facing the open water, it happen to me one year on Nippissing the wind changed during the night and in the morning the boat was half full of water. Hope it works out for you. -
Got the boat out of storage on Saturday changed the oil and the gear oil put the muffs on and cranked her up she started no problem nice strong stream of water coming out the pee hole I let her run for a few minutes then shut her down top up the oil and start her up again starts fine but this time no water coming out the pee hole.I checked the intake and the line and there are no obstructions so I am assuming it`s the impellor. I just find it strange that the impellor works fine and 5 minutes latter it`s dead i just hope i did no other damage,if anybody has some thoughts fire away. So it looks like i will be boatless for the Walleye opener and that sucks.

21 MPG that`s impressive for that beast I can`t get that towing with my 6 cylinder Explorer heck I am hard pressed to get that without the boat on the back. Any driving tips?

A good buddy of mine had a Sante Fe and said it was one of the best vehicles he had ever owned.
