We may not like it but in today's market $12-$14 hard baits is reality in southern Ontario. You can buy "generic" lures for less and do alright but the hooks and hardware will not be as good, the consistency will vary more and some will flat out just not fish right. To each his own. This problem with the shadow rap is something that rapala needs to fix.
I find ReefRunners and Walleye Divers are just as good as Raps for my purposes.
2/3 the price.
Catching most of my fish on jigs and dropshot.
Way cheaper.

I suspect the moose had already been chased by the wolf. Standing out in the open water. No Lilly pads to eat.
Surprised one wolf would take her on. Maybe she hurt other ones and they took off.
Must be hungry.

Looked in owners manual of my 10 yr old Yammy.
Says timing belt should be replaced after 5 yrs.
Haven't done it yet.
I do my own regular end of season maintenance. Runs perfectly.
I guess I should get that done. ???
I did change plugs and impeller at 5 yrs.

Scent has to play a significant role.
Anybody that has used real worms will tell you.
Like a fish knows what an earthworm is.
In my experience GULP will outfish all other plastics especially for the bluegills and smallies on Pigeon.
Never tried GULP spray scent. Maybe should.

So sorry Cliff.
Sounds like she was a terrific Gal.
You are lucky to have had her.
May she rest in peace.

Remember if you go on municipal roads you need a helmet, insurance and a license plate.
Check local bylaws re what roads you can drive on.

Have my MinnKota plug come loose often lately.
3 prong screw in. 24 volt
I guess these things wear out.
10 yrs old.
I'm thinking replacing the receptacle will solve the problem. Do I need to replace the plug too?
Thanks

Lots of choices out there
Finding an advisor without conflict of interest is hard.
Many will steer you into investments that benefit them thru fees and kickbacks and may not be the best out there for you.
Stay away from equity mutual funds.
They charge between 2 to 2.5 % annually on every dollar in the fund whether it goes up or down. And the majority of these funds don't beat the market.
ETFs are the way to go or owning individual stocks. Way lower fees with ETFs. . .5 % usually. With stocks you pay a fee when you buy and then when you sell. That's it.
Most important thing with equity investments is don't panic.
The markets can be volatile. A lot of people buy in when the market runs up- so at the top, then panic and sell after the inevitable correction - at the bottom. Worst thing you can do.

North Pigeon Lake is 74-76 F today.
The hunt for eyes begins.

Look at the Shimano website. They have reworked their better reels with new technology in last year or two.
Lots of new stuff. Like NASCI.
Maybe gimmicky but likely not.
They make good stuff.

Haven't been on the water in a week but I bet temps are up from 68 F
Where are the fish going to be?
Still summer pattern?

Better than sex at that size ?

I don't think it's on all fishing stuff
Most of it for sure.
Even the MinnKota drift sock I got was 15% off.

15% off fishing stuff.

Thanks for the heads up.

Hahaha good one.
Reminds me of this...
A cop is sitting on his horse watching traffic and a guy walks up and sheepishly asks "Do you mind if I ah" and he points to the back end of the horse. The cop is confused and says " Sure". The fellow walks around behind the horse, lifts his tail, sticks his finger in the horse's bum and rubs it all over his lips!! The cop is astonished and asks "why would you ever do that??" The fellow smiles and says "chapped lips". So the cops asks "Is that good for chapped lips??" The guys says "No...but is stops ya from licking them!"

Looks like Irma's path is moving more to the west.
Palm Beach may be spared the worst of it.

Talked to a guy in the wholesale lumber business.
He says prices are about to go up
Between all the forest fires this year and now the demand from Harvey damage, all lumber prices including plywood will jump.
-
If you can wait, HD, Lowe's and Reno Depot have pressure treated wood on sale quite often.
10-15% off. Maybe more so in spring than fall.
-
News says less than half have insurance to cover the damage.
Likely too expensive due to high risk area.

Cool.
Put a little JB Weld on that skeg and file/sand it smooth.
