  1. A salute

A doctor in St John's Newfoundland wanted to get off work and go hunting, so he approached his janitor. "I am goin' huntin' tomorrow Buddy and don't want to close the clinic. I want you to take care of the clinic and take care of all my patients and I'll give you fifty bucks."

     "Yes, sir!" answers Buddy

The doctor goes hunting and returns the following day and asks: "So, Buddy, How was your day?"

Buddy told him that he took care of three patients. "The first one had a Headache so I gave him TYLENOL."

"Bravo Buddy! The second one?" asks the doctor.

"The second one had a bad stomach and I gave him MAALOX, sir." says Buddy

"Bravo, bravo! You're good at this and what about the third one?" asks the Doctor

"Well Sir, I was sitting here having a smoke and suddenly the door flies opens and a woman enters. Like a flame, she undresses herself, taking off everything including her bra and her panties and lies down on the table and shouts: HELP ME - I haven't seen a man in over two years

"Lard Tunderin' Yeezus, Buddy!!! What did you do?"

I put drops in her eyes!!

  2. Did anybody mention that HELOC can be unsecured or secured? The rates are much better to have one secured by your  home. But to get one will cost you an appraisal. Might be $4-600. If you have other business with the same bank like RRSP, credit cards and checking account you are a valued customer and can negotiate fees and interest rates. Provided you have been wise with your debt and made regular payments.   Just know the banks are nervous about the ridiculous real estate prices if you have a big mortgage. Say over 70% of the property value. If you can’t pay they get your house and have to sell it. Maybe after a housing correction. and take a bath.   Buy a quality used boat, take a test drive and have a tech look at the engine. If it hits  the fan you can always sell it. A used good boat won’t deprecated much if you look after it.  Don’t forget the cost of boat ownership  Fuel, maintenance, insurance, tow vehicle, storage and foot itis.  Be patient  watch the market and pull the trigger when the right boat comes up.  Hard to do

    Just sayin.

  3. So, just to clarify. Hookworms are small worms that used to be common in people in the old days. Dogs and other mammals have them too. But hookworms are species specific in that adult worms only live in the intestines of their designated hosts. But baby hookworms(larvae) from say dogs , can still penetrate human skin and cause local problems. But can’t get to the gut to live and lay eggs to perpetuate their life cycle. Us vets recommend dogs to be on regular parasite control that includes hookworms.  Lots of stray dogs in the third world that have no parasite control.  Crapping all over the place. Including beaches it seems ?

  4. Here in York Region you can buy seasoned hardwood  firewood at Lowe’s, CT, Home Hardware etc. I often count the split pieces and it usually costs between  50 cents and a dollar a piece!  And that doesn’t include delivery. I guess it’s mainly people who use it for looks than heating that buy this stuff. I’m sure it’s cheaper to heat with propane unless you can source your wood for considerably less.

Been thinking of replacing the air tight wood burning fireplace at the cottage for the same reason. Tired of the mess and having it go out during the night.

Was wondering how well the propane inserts heated compared to the stand alone models like you put in the basement. Seems the later would be more efficient since heat  would radiate from all around the unit. What do you think?

And can you give me an idea what both units cost installed? Thanks
