Better for snow.
But ice and snow can injure if you get nailed
I have seen some poor looking metal roof jobs.
To me asphalt shingles look better.
The best ones should last 25 yrs.
then there are metal shingles.

a little off topic, but what are your guys thoughts on tesla's solar roof?
Was a solar rep at Lowes last night. I asked about Tesla shingles.
He said they are way more expensive and not as efficient as roof solar panels.
Something like $120k vs $30k.

The fish are asking for you.

Use to use Crystal 10 lb on my spinning reels.
Last year switched to Nanofil. Much better IMHO.
Smoother, thinner.
Casts farther
Others have said not very strong but I've not found that to to be the case. 10 lb.
Landed several Muskies last year while walleye jigging. No leader.

Can't find any info on line re the TSW locks not opening this weekend
With water levels at record highs for this time of year, I'm wondering.

Not sure but Gannon Narrows Marina has a good slope to concrete launch.
Maybe call them.

To ride on public roads you need:
Helmet
License plates
Insurance. I suspect only liability is required but not sure.

We have been renting it 2-3 wks/ year for years.
Have regular customers. People we know.
Have had no problems.
This year they have other plans so I'm looking to rent.
Hopefully find good people that become regulars.
3 wks of rentals pays most of the expenses- insurance, property taxes and hydro.
Don't really want to give that up but having the place wrecked and pissing off the neighbours is not a good thing.

I was thinking thatUse one of the big rental company's to rent out your cottage. That way your covered under a contract with deposits should any problems arise.
My kids say AirBnB, VRBO.
-
I have it listed in OFC classifiedsDetails on the cottage? I'm possibly interested in a rental.

Looking for recommendations re renting out our cottage.
Want to rent it out for a week in June and September.
There are tons of on- line options.
Nervous renting to strangers
Does anyone have some experience doing this?
Is there any vetting of guests?
Insurance?
Fees?

Water is 54 degrees on Pigeon
Spent 3 hrs in the drizzle this morning
Nada.
Lots of boats out.
Didn't see anybody catch
Lots of moving around. Bad sign
Some guys fishing shallow. Some very deep
Drove over Gannon Narrows bridge last night at 9:30. 2 big houseboats anchored close.
How'd everybody do where you were?

You forgot to mention guys throwing spinnerbaits and stickbaits to shore to catch panfish on Pigeon.I was amazed at the number of docks floating where they should not have been yesterday and the number of cars/trucks trailering boats...must be opening of pickeral season in the Kawarthas...
-
The lake is up a foot from last week.
Lots of docks covered.
Looking out, there are floating logs and debris.
Boat safely.

You Dog ?
-
Maybe
Also young people are less interested
Prefer their screens to reality

You are right but fishing licence sales are decreasing for a while nowOntario's population has more than doubled since 1960, and added 5 million or so since 1980. Since the majority of that population growth happened in southern Ontario you would expect local lakes and nearby resort lakes to be affected?
