Great! I spent a week near Brockville years ago and didn’t do well.
Should have hired a guide.

Temps back to around 80F.

As an alumacraft owner, this is very very very disappointing. Anything Bombardier has gone to the complete pooper if you ask me. Bad news all around.
Glad we got one when you could still get a yamaha put on em...not anymore!
Not sure what you mean. I hear E-Tecs are pretty good. CanAm makes a decent ATV and Seadoo is the PWC leader.
What is the concern?

Just announced

Waterways will be extra busy this week. No license required. The fish will see a lot of lures.
I might go strawberry picking instead.

Wow. Not sure about their biology but I hope you’re right.

There is nothing licensed for deeflies on dogs.
I would think a light dose of deet would be safe. Stay away from eyes and mouth.
Have you seen the plastic dragonfly on a wire that you clip onto your hat? Advertised to keep deerflies away. Might be able to clip onto a dog’s collar

I liked him too. Had his demons and addictions. Often hinted in his show about the meaninglessness of modern society. Might be the second of more suicides of weathy types who have everything but lack meaning and hope.

No but I was watching them have sex in the air. Big orgie

Wondering if the crazy mayfly hatch is to blame for the poor walleye fishing here on Pigeon. Either that or I suck and should take up golf.

Seems like ice just went out recently. Surface temps this afternoon 72-75F ?

I changed to 4 blade prop. Improved hole shot, lowered rpms at 20 mph. But can’t troll as slow as before. I drag a drift sock for that. Remember to trim motor all the way down for best hole shot.

Need to take my 2007 115F outboard in for some routine maintenance. Timing belt. Impeller. Fuel filter etc whatever is needed
I’m in the Buckhorn area. I see there are 3 dealers fairly close. Buckeye, Walsten, and Paris. Anybody know of a good and fair service centre to take her to? Thanks
Peter

Something’s had a nibble.

Had do a double take looking at my Lowrance tonight. Yesterday evening water temps were 66F at the south side of the lake and 65 at the north side. This evening 56F. Was sunny today, about 19 C and mild east wind. How does that happen?

Try shallower. Inside weed edges. Warmest water. Most guys struggled with them this weekend, but I found them right where I always do on opener. No boats in sight.
Think outside the box. Bait would be the last thing I look for on pigeon.

Ok. Thanks. I’ll give it a try this weekend.

things were very slow last weekend as well, everything is a few weeks behind...we were finding walleye crappie and perch in winter patterns in 25 fow.
A few pre spawn bass up shallow...depending on how the weather holds, bass opener might be absolutely insane with fish still on the beds.
I’m thinking the bait is still deep as you say. . Like I said nothing at our dock, South shore. I tried north shore weed beds. Nada.

It’s interesting. The medical community isn’t sure whether sunscreen actual prevents skin cancer. Best is to cover up. Us fisherman get a double whammy with sun reflection off the water. If you’re blue eyed and fair skinned be extra careful. Don’t forget the eyes too. Good sunglasses all the time. Still lots of UV rays in cloudy days.

Couldn’t face the cold this morning early. Got out around 10 on Pigeon. Couldn’t find any green weeds. Landed a solid smallie on a jerk bait. No eyes. Not many boats out. No panfish at the dock yet. I always struggle in May.

Took my ride out of the boathouse today for the first time. 2007 Yammy 115 started right up. Original battery too. Deka. I’d buy another one in a minute. Not much wood floating around anymore. No other boats seen. Surface temp 60F this afternoon.

Was wondering with the horrific winds we had whether the walleye spawn will have failed this spring on windy shorelines.

I needed some routine service done on my 2007 F115 outboard. Took her to Walsten Marine north of Bobcaygeon. Timing belt, internal fuel filter, impeller. Also had them look it over and water test. Computer tested. No codes. 920 hours. Prearranged to drop off and wait to take back. All done in 2 hrs.
Parts and labour $373 + tax.
Very happy with this motor and Walsten Marine. I would highly recommend them
Cheers. Peter
