The Shimano Sojourn gets my vote. It's 39.99$ at Cambodian Tire. The rods a cork handled, 6'6" Medium power Fast action. It has a great bend to it, balances well and has alot of backbone for stiff hook sets .

It was killed in Alberta. There is a big write up on it on canadiangunnutz.com and huntingbc.ca. Apparently one of the board members actually saw the hunter and the wolf in transit going home from the hunt.

What I meant was MOOSE Calves...and yes they do. More people in Ontario need to get into predator hunting to thin there numbers out a bit.

No. One reason Alabama man... CALF KILLERS.

Thanks Dara, how was your trip? OUCH!! Next time we're fishing and I land a fish for you, your hooks are gonna get "tangled" in the net before the fish is in . -

The water doesn't seem too bad for clarity Lime. I've been told our area's Walleye are actually some mutant fish/hybrid, but I have no idea nor do I care... I will bust out the floating jigs soon . I gotta get them to stop hitting the trolling spinners long enough for me to still fish for a bit . -

The fact that they're chock full of awesomeness.... -
Pulling more piglets out of Rock Lake guys. I seem to have found a few nice spots on this little lake to get into some Pickerel action. Fishing seems best so far in 9-15 feet of water pulling perch/fire tiger spinners with GULP, minnows or worms behind them. Heres my buddies 5 pounder Here he is with his 5 and 3 pounder... Heres my Fathers Day 21"er caught on a Baitfish Image Clown Spinner and my new Mojo Bass...Mojo Bass...not just for Bass anymore .

Don't worry CLofchik...I got your back. They are insanely stupid and annoying creatures...fun to catch while you're waiting for the evening Walleye bite though . -

Help moi pick up a reel (walleye rod)
archie_james_c replied to archie_james_c's topic in General Discussion
You make a good point about the 1500 and 2000 series reels. But since I dont have my new boat yet (16). This is also my rod for pulling spinners (nothing heavy for weights, just #5 split shots usually). So a 2500 would be nice. And yes, for a 5 bearing reel the Symetre is a bit pricey... -
Im getting so sick of these anti-gun, anti-hunting and fishing nazis...they spew garbage out of their mouths, brainwash kids these days with data and facts that are doctored up and innacurate...yet they're still seen as "the good guys" in the eyes of the majority. Im only a young lad and have alot of life left to live...and Im afraid if this garbage keeps up I'll live to see my gun/hunting/fishing rights robbed from us... .

I just pulled my Ugly Braid off my primary spool and threw on some High-Vis Line Counter Fireline 15lb. Gotta say...took it for a test drive yesterday for Walleye and it performed flawlessy. Tough as nails, easy to see in the water, doesn't fray...I like it alot so far...

You got my rods cousin (I got the 6'9" ML X-fast), you'll love it. Wonderful family as well.

Help moi pick up a reel (walleye rod)

Im thinking if the Tierra balances nice, it'll be going on there...pics to follow said purchase. -
Just another update from my GULP experiences (if anyone actually cares). Me and the old man went out fro fathers day walleye, took nothing but 10 or so worms and a package of black/white shad and chartreuse GULP minnows. I brought in over 8 Walleye including my biggest in a long time (not sure on weight but it was 21") and he brough in around 3 or 4 on the GULP and a few on worms.

Bill Dance is one hell of a funny man. And if you don't already know that his stuff is done on purpose then you are one gullible man .

I've got Ugly Braid on my current go-to spool. So far, the problems with it have been few and far between...actually the only complaint I have is the black coating coming off almost instantly. I figured this would weaken the line considerably...it has not! I've been really running the crap outta this line to try and get it to fail...I haveb't been able to yet. I'm running 10 lb on my spinning reel. I can drag it across rocks and it will barely fray...and even after fraying I've purposely left it frayed and reeled in fish after fish with it and have yet to break the damned stuff! If I were you guys I'd give it a shot...whats the worst that can happen? You dont like it and take it off after a day of fishing?

Shimano Compre VS. St.Croix Premier
archie_james_c replied to CrappieCamo's topic in General Discussion
The St.Croix, being that its only a "fast action" will have more of a spongy tip to it. Were as the Shimano is "extra-fast action" will be a stiffer tip. Two rods almost identical...yet so different. I'd also bug you to bump up to the Avid Series St.Croix's. They're 50ish dollars more but you get a lifetim ewarranty as opposed to the 5 year...but still, you'll be happy with either I'm sure .
