Spent last weekend up at the camp the Walleye were biting. Easy fishing good eating.....

Thanks again everyone, the best thing about all of is I promised my father-in-law, who is very ill and has zero appetite (and loves walleye(who doesnt)), a good feed of fish. Needless to say he was very happy and very full after I delivered said fish, we both were.

Thankyou for the complements, the headless fish, well there is a story behind that, but its a secret. The cops were good guys because all we had was a couple of beers for after lunch and they could have been jerks and fined us (lectured us instead) drinking on the ice is fun, however is quite illegal. The one cop even ran to one of our still lines as we got a bite, you could tell he was an icefisherman (probably drinks beer on the ice too).

Well got out on the Gog last Sunday, fished away from the crowds (thanks for the tip Brad). Typical daytime results, small perch, John did get a nice Jumbo though. Hmmm what else, oh yes we had a visit from Durham regional, friendly cops. The evening bite was great (for me) got 4 nice fish. It was a great day for my first outing of 09 John, Uncle Mike and I had a nice outing, and the fish tasted great!

I did not like to fish at all when I was little and now it is a an addiction, didnt start liking it untill I was 14 or so. My son has uttered the words "I hate fishing dad" (very painful), however he is twelve now and the other day at Balsam Lake as I prepared to head out with my buddy and his two sons for some evening Walleye he said" I am coming along" (I acted aloof and said "if you want sure", inside I was saying YES!!!!). He out fished all of us 4 great fish, kept one for his Grandpa. I told him I was very proud of him rubbed his hair (holding back tear) and he said thats great dad can we go in now. Any way I overheard him telling his buddies how great it was to out fish his fishing crazy dad. Kids they are all different. (my youngest, my little girl loves to fish so there you go)

A nice family and friends camping trip didnt get out fishing much a few small bass and one nice one

I will be camping at the park this weekend with the wife and kids, will try to fish a bit. Alot of restrictions there, single barbless hooks, no live bait... any tips on what to use with spinning gear (not much of a fly fisherman, although I own a fly rod, and may try it out, I will likely use the spinning gear more). Actually its a no "organic bait" area, is Gulp considered an organic bait?

Point-au-baril Pike and Walleye hope the crap weather doesnt mess it up to much!!!!
