I've never been in a bass boat before.... Kinda figured they could handle some heavy weather.... They are 18-22 feet long with plenty of power...

I guess safety first... That's good that the organizers are on the ball for safety... Just surprised.... Maybe in the future they can launch in a more protected area then if it's nice hit the open water... And if it's nasty they are already in the protection of the islands... But it's hard for anywhere to handle 150 boats launching...

Like I'm a troller... I use a baitcaster set up... My rod is $450 and my reel is $150... I did this because I need to feel EVERYTHING with the rod... As for a reel I just needed something reliable...

I guess I'll ask... What type of fishing are you mainly going to use this combo for...? If its casting then the fellas are right.... Put more money into the reel... If its drifting or trolling its the opposite.... Spend more on a quality sensitive rod because you don't need to cast.... If its a complete mix of techniques then I'd spend $100 on both the rod and the reel... For 200 you can get a solid combo that can do everything "ok"...

Pulled it and everything looked perfect... Seals appeared to be in great shape... The line that wrapped the prop the day it happened was 20lb mono and I got the whole leader back out imidiatly... I had hoped that the larger diameter of the 20lb mone wouldn't cause damage...

So your advising me to to run another 150 hours on my brand spanking new outboard with water getting in the lower unit? That doesnt seem right to me...

They were really really tight actually...

Well that didn't take long... 2 months and i have an issue with my new yamaha outboard... But this isnt yamahas fault... I had a buddy who I won't name (member here) get caught in my prop while trolling... And I wasn't aware due to the fact that I was helping the other guy on the boat land a walleye... So the motor was in forward for about a minut with line in the prop... And when I did my 100 hour oil changes today my gear oil was milky... So it would seem my oil seals on the prop shaft have been damaged... Is this something I can fix myself... Or is this something I should get a pro to fix...? Let's say 1-10 scale... 10 being a really tricky job... Thanks

Thing with quinte is it should be thought of as a true trophy water.... If your not going to catch a giant walleye... There's better places to go... But for giants... It's where it's at.... Between my brother and I we boated well over 1500 walleye last year on our home waters... Plenty of 5-6-7-8 even some 9 pounders.... Only 1 fish each over 10... And mine was during ice season.... I took my boat to quinte last fall and we boated a fish over 10 pounds in the first half hour of fishing.... Mind you... We only went 2/3 all day... But we got what we went for.... A big bite... For the rest of the open water season I can catch numbers as well as size here.... And we get plenty of fish over 5 pounds daily in the fall...with plenty tickling that 10lb mark but falling short.... So to scratch my trophy itch... I'm going to quinte... Where 10 pounds isn't even that big.... Can't wait!!!!

I pile em Plano trays... I have a box with 8-10 plastic baits... Bulldogs... Bondy baits.... Red October tubes.... I don't worry about color bleed because I haven't experienced much... And of I do... I'll call it a custom...lol
