  1. It's not time to fish that spot again is it? Don't lick your fingers. Nice Pig Lorne.
  2. I caught one in the Niagara before float fishing roe.
  3. Good info. didn't expect to see a pic of myself in that article!
  4. Reel is made by LURE-KING INC. based out of MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO. It is the same as the G.Loomis reel you may see in some stores. My first float reel was the Loomis. Caught thousands and thousands of Steelhead with that reel. HTH Tom
  5. Fished with Al a few times on the river back before he moved. Great guy, haven't talked to him in quite a while!
  6. Well not like the word is not out on how well that river is fishing this year anyways, but pretty easy to tell were they are from those pics no need to mention names if you have fished around the great lakes.
  7. I stayed their once and the beach out front was loaded with small bones. The second day we were their my buddy and I got over 30 on our fly rods. Every other time I've been to Cayo Coco I've stayed at Tryp and had a blast in the water and the resort!
  8. Nice to see you got out with Dunny! I highly recommend him. Been out with him a few times over the last couple years. Got some nice Bones and Poon's on the fly.
  9. Hey that is my boat! Small World. SD/Fly on the Wire 225ft back #3 setting.
  10. I also hear from the pro ranks that something called a "Rattle Trap" is killing smallies this year. Good luck! Jim Yup new hot bait out this year.
  11. Early season fish any inflowing creeks/rivers as this will be the warmest water in the lake. Slower muddier creeks/rivers would be best as they will absorb the sun better and warm quicker. HTH
  12. I dropped my wallet between the rocks their going out to the pier last week, all my I.D. just took out $200 and also had $40 U.S. in their. So if anyone hears of a wallet let me know. Really sucks trying to replace everything. Good Luck on The Phone at least you hopefully dropped yours on dry land.
  13. He was fishing the Scotty King of the Lake Tourney on the weekend that is why he kept so many (before anyone else questions why he kept them)!
  14. Nice meeting you on the water Ben. Steve Piggot sure knows his way with the cats. With the strong east winds the fishing was a little slow but still some nice cats. Our biggest of the day were two 19 lbers not caught by me LOL!!!
  15. They do sometimes bite in the mud, but they pulled the ice boom last week and the river was full of ice. Not sure if it is clear yet haven't heard?? I would find out first if your driving from any distance.
  16. Check out Cast Adventures. Paul guides primarily on the river (upper/lower) year round so if the river is what you want to do he is your man. Mid June is perfect time of the year for walleye in the Upper. You would have to go in two boats if you wanted to fish with 5 or 6 guys. Trolling boats (Lake O salmon/Lake Erie walleye) cater to larger groups of people if you wanted to go in one boat. HTH http://castadventures.ca/
  17. Actually for the Grand River the fresher the bait the better it works. Just go to some creek and get some big suckers, keep them alive until right before you use them then just cut them into chunks. There is no secret recipe, that is the best bait that we have found that works.
  18. I second the Fox M alarms. I've had mine for 5 or 6 years and still going strong. I also built my own pod out of copper tubing and bank sticks and it works just fine. Carp are a great filler between trout and bass season. Once you learn to get them on the pod try the fly rod 100 times more exciting, and I've got my biggest (mid 30's) sight casting big leech patterns to these tailing "golden bones".
  19. If you want to learn a few things about carp check out this site. Click on Canada and you will see there are lots of guys from around your area. http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/forum/index.php
  20. Bill's Bait Hamilton (Upper James St.) Fishing World Hamilton (Barton St.) Burn's Tackle Burlington (Plains Rd.) All 3 sell carp stuff Boilies etc...
  21. Fly Fished last year in Cayo Santa Maria (west of Cayo Coco) from a flats boat and hooked 10 tarpon 8-40 pounds on a 8 weight. The most exciting fishing I've ever done, but very frustrating as I lost the first 9 I hooked until I finally landed a nice 20 pounder. Might be going back in Apr. I did see tarpon off a river mouth boiling that were pushing triple digits!!!
  22. If you like ironsilk, then you will probably not like raven. Raven has a thin diam. for the lb. test it is rated for, so the abraison resistance is not as good as ironsilk or most other lines. Most guys that like raven run the higher line rating (10-12 lbs.) for this exact reason. Maxima ultragreen is a good choice so is PLine CXX (which in my opinon are almost indentical lines in every way). My go to line the last few years has been Sufix Pro mix 8Lbs. not to expensive and great abraison resistance just like ironsilk.
  23. Read this on a MMA site and hope it is not true. GSP dominated but I would hate to see if this was true. B.J. Penn's camp has filed a formal complaint with the Nevada State Athletic Commission over Vaseline that was allegedly rubbed on Georges St. Pierre's back between rounds one and two. UFC president Dana White said at the post-fight press conference that he was aware of the complaint, and said he personally witnessed members of the commission take the Vaseline away from GSP's camp and rebuke them in the Octagon between rounds. "I saw the commission jump up there and flipping out," said Dana White. They said one of the guys was rubbing Vaseline on Georges' back in between rounds. It was one and two, I think." "The guys from the athletic commission went up there and started screaming at them. Knocked the Vaseline and kicked the Vaseline out of the Octagon." White added that "some Vaseline on a guy's back didn't change the outcome of that fight, but you don't do it," and said the blame should fall on the cornerman responsible and not GSP. "If a guy was intentionally putting Vaseline on a guy's back, he should never corner a mixed martial arts fight again." As for what becomes of the complaint now, White said it's out of his hands. "Who knows. That's up to the commission."
