  1. I found this item on E Bay searching for Rapala stuff. It's tough to see in the photo, but this beer was made for an annual sales meeting in 2005. I used to collect beer cans as a hobby. In fact I have about 300 mostly full cans tucked away in the basement somewhere. It's common in the USA for beers to be made for a special event. I have several of them. Remember "Billy Beer", from Jimmy Carters brothers fame? I got one of them downstairs.
  2. Awesome photos again Solopaddler. Keep them coming. You know, I've heard of the Brook Trout being called the "Canary in a coal mine" of fishes. Basically what that means is that if there's anything wrong with the environment, they'll be the first to disappear. They demand pristine conditions. So its no wonder that you find such magnificent fish far in the backwoods. And what better place for a fisherman to be one with nature? It's just you and natures finest offerings. That's how I like it. And apparently, so do you. Thanks for posting.
  3. Just think Roy. Now you can actually leave the dock.
  4. Just when you thought that the Rapala company has made everything that there is to be made for fishing, comes this great new product. Atta boy Lauri!!
  5. Oh yes. I got this hat last fall at the Kansas race. These hats were issued to the security guards and were not available for sale. Making friends with the security guards pays dividends. I actually saw one on E Bay that went for $50.00. Can't wait for Feb. 18th!!
  6. Yes Dave. That's me. Once again, welcome. I'm sure you'll like it here.
  7. My what?? The Ziplocs came from Zellers.
  8. Better to be taking stuff out of your pelvis to fix your wrist that the other way around. I've only broken one bone in my life. My pelvis. You don't want to do that. Believe me.
  9. I have a Logitech cheapie that's probably 6 or 7 years old. It's worked fine with several different computers and operating systems.
  10. Judging from the velvet on the rack and how green the landscape is, I'd say these photos were taken in the spring/early summer. Not mating season. But he certainly doesn't seem shy. What an incredible animal.
  11. I've got some of those too Nauti, but mine leaked air back into them after a while. I think that these Ziplocs are way cool, although I haven't field tested them yet. I'm an old garbage bag user too Corn Nug. They were great in their day. I picked up the Ziplocs at Zellers.
  12. As fishermen/women, I'm sure we've all used Ziploc bags many times. Not only for food storage, but to keep countless things dry while out camping, fishing, or just in the boat. But have you seen these things? Huge, huge Ziplocs are now on the market. I bought a pack of 3 (about $9.00) of the biggest ones. They are made of very heavy plastic and should be able to be used many times over with a little care. I'm impressed with them. Can you imagine how many Walleye fillets that you'd be able to fit into one of these?? Ziploc
  13. Just how close would you get to this guy for a good photo? I have no info on these photos. I got them in an e mail and thought that I share them with you guys. Incredible.
  14. Welcome Dave. I like your resume already. I'm a Trout guy and small game hunter too, but from the Northwest of the province. We'll get along just fine I'm sure.
  15. Very nice story Lew, but with a not so nice ending. You should be proud of your efforts though. Sleep well tonight Bud..
  16. I'd just like to add my congrats to Justin for the fantastic photos. They don't get much better than that.
  17. As most of you guys already know, it's cold up here in the winter. So, what do we wear to keep our feet while ice fishing? Nothing.
  18. The good guys win today, the bad guys win tomorrow. As soon as one or the other figures out a new way to beat the system, the other guys figure out a way to defeat them. That's pretty much how it's been going for the last decade or so. I don't see anything changing real soon. There's super geeks on each team. I wouldn't worry about it.
  19. Well that's definitely my kind of report. Practically in my back yard to boot. I've been to Armstrong many times but mostly for work. The Albany is an awesome river for multi specie fishing. And from what I hear, the smaller tribs are the place to go for Brookies these days. You can never plan a trip around the forest fire situation these days, and it will probably get worse in the future. I respect the efforts that you put into this trip. I'll be crossing the Albany in a few weeks. I'll heading north of Pickle Lake for work. I'll have no time to even think about fishing. But every time I see the Albany, the fishing opportunities start flying through my head. Thanks so much for the fantastic report. I enjoyed it very much.
  20. If you have a two speed, or multi speed blower, running it on low speed 24 hours per day will help greatly to eliminate cold areas of the house.
  21. Welcome to OFC. But you should work on the quoted problem. Or at least not admit it. You'll enjoy it here. You can post full size pics with the IMG /IMG tags.
  22. I picked up a decent 1/4 and 3/8 drive socket set there today for $20.00. Great for around the house. And guaranteed for life.
  23. Awesome Tom!! They stock Rainbows around here too? That's news to me. Great photos..
