  2. Tanya just corrected me about the carp. Apparently, it's boiled, then stuffed.. and then baked.. Doesn't that just sounds scrump-diddly-umptious?!! I think I'll have another cabbage roll, spasibo!! What about your missus dawg? Anything cajun?!
  3. Wow. Sounds like you're under their radar... Even if it's a scare tactic, I'd take the warning seriously. Ever try using Scrapetorrent and Vuse? Used them for years and never had a problem.. I'd look into this a little bit further though. Looks like they're monitoring your IP!! cheers HD

  10. Okay okay I give in.. I love it!! Tight loops dawg HD
  11. Yup, same here. Always seem to get a bit of sand no matter how tight I have em on. That there's just some regular wear and tear from lotsa use. Best would be to empty any gravel as soon as you feel it, especially if you plan on walking some distance. I've made a conscious effort to do this since I got the new pair, as I've found that even a little gravel is rough on the neopreme, and it may not be just rocks that you find stuck on the inside of your boot. Looks like you'll need a loaner while you send em in. I figure about 3/4 weeks from send/receive. Which is pretty good. But then, there's always the good ol hefty bags!! cheers HD
  12. Yah it's a little loud. I wanted to get a take from Predator, found one actually with Arny emptying his firearm on the bushes, but all I could manage was a still of the shot when I tried to reduce it in size. It thinks this one's from Total Recall, when he gets blown out into the red planet atmosphere and his face... yyaaahhh...lol Both flicks are awesome though.. here's the one.. sry for the highjack. HD
  13. Yup, just give Simms a call. They'll send ya a tracking voucher. And if ya don't have gravel guards, get um! HD

  20. They certainly are gawd aweful creatures.. Apparently they can unhinge their lower jaw to engulf larger fish, like that unfortunate pike. While I'm all for taking them out with deadly force, napalm comes to mind, I don't agree that low fish stocks are a result of their population getting larger.. We've been seeing them for years at the Leslie Spit, and while they do tend to hunt locally, I attribute other factors like poor water quality, overfishing and habitat loss to getting skunked... I also think the fish are getting wiser. Our success rate in the harbour has dropped, big time, but I don't blame the cormorants... They've been here for years, and it's only recently that we're seeing less fish. I'd like to see them culled, but for other reasons. They're displacing other species like Black Crested Night herons, their guano is toxic to plants and the stench is absolutely over powering, and let's face, they look like they were created from the depths of hell. It's kinda like what the biologists are saying. Eventually, other factors like habitat loss(they're crapping themselves outta house and home) and disease will take it's toll. There's an asian flu strain just waiting to reak havoc on them. But that's another story altogether. I've heard making noise greatly affects roosting (kinda like what they use at airports). Something like a small detonation, placed at regular time intervals, outta send them beasties packing!! Ya affect roosting and feeding, you directly affect the survival rate of the chicks. Oiling eggs with mineral oil works very well also, but only ground nests are accessible... that leaves alota burds.. While I know that their hunger for fish can have an affect on fish stocks, I also know that there's millions of fish lake O, and actually, the smallie fishery is actually improving in our area. Go figure.. Good judgement outta be considered here. Anyone caught killing such an animal runs the risk of heavy fines, revoked fishing priviledges and having their equipment taken away. Nuts to that!! All creatures, no matter how vile, have a right to be here. We only have ourselves to blame for any disruption in the natural world. The DDT ban may be what is bringing these birds back, but the warming of the planet is what's broadening their distribution. JM2C. HD
  21. Aucune sti d'idee!! Enlighten us.
  22. Ahh gotcha. That would make for an interesting g2g.. Looks like you know the lakes well.. But I'm thinking more of an opener or after opener kinda thing.. Dryden is a bit north for a vacation in February.. Somewhere south is called for when the temperature dips and my coco becomes a solid lump in my thermos . Like the mediterranean!! cheers HD
  23. Ya outta save them hockey pucks as a reminder: Automatic toasters are trouble!! On a lighter note, I was cleaning out mine the other day and would ya know it, a little mouse had unfortunately found his way in and had gotten stuck under the elements. It was completety charred and I have no clue how long he'd been in there!!! I'm surprised it didn't cause a short... That coulda been dangerous. No wonder my bagels never turned out right.. There was essence of charred mouse for gawd knows how long in my toasties!! Glad everyone's honky dory. cheers HD
  24. You're a brave soul duude!! Atta boy. Hd
