  1. In my experience all you get is more noise and no better mileage. You tend to tromp more on it to hear it which in turns burns more gas. If I had to choose I would rather do an air intake than an exhaust setup. If you start opening up the exhaust you can loose torque but gain HP. I'd save your money for more tackle!
  2. Wow looks like I'm going for a drive. Not even any parts dealers locally that have fair pricing?
  3. It had never been recommended to me for service...I'll leave it at that. Anyone else know of someone around here? Few and far between
  4. I got mine done today and I notice grease keeps coming out the pinhole long after I stop greasing the bearings. Is that just an air pocket pushing it out?
  5. There is pier 74 out in niles town don't know anything about them. Hully gully isn't far from 401 but not interested in going there....
  6. does anyone know of a reputable outboard mechanic/parts dealer in the London area? I've heard bade marine in pt franks is good but not sure of any others around here closer that have a good reputation.
  7. I got a bearing packer on sale at Napa a few years back looks like this one: http://www.timken.com/en-us/products/lubrication/products/Lubricators/deliverydevices/Pages/BearingPackers.aspx Makes it sooo easy!
  8. I haven't seen the double seals around lately. I'll drop over there to check them out it makes sense especially with the boat trailers. I change my bearings out every year. Do you guys as well or just repack them?
  9. Lund princecraft and crestliner have always been the ones people recommend to me whenever the question comes up
  10. Yup I have a bearing packer so I'm good there, was just wondering if its good to fill the hub up with grease instead of pumping so much in afterwards and just do it a couple times.
  11. So do you essentially fill the hub right up with grease and then put the buddy on and fill the rest up?
  12. Hard to say. If the buddies weren't packed tight they could've leaked from there as well. I priced out some timken seals today and they were $6 a piece. Bearings were $11ea. I can usually get 4 bearings, 4 races, and 2 seals for just over $20 of the cheaper ones.
  13. You may have had the wrong seals. I was just at the shop today and I had to double check - they had the same size seal for the hub fitting, however the hole that goes onto the axle was a different size. Was the rubber deteriorated?
  14. I've been using the RBL trailer bearings for a while now (China) and never had any issues. What do you guys use? Or does it really matter if you regularly do maintenance checks? Wasn't sure if it was worth considering Timkens...though I think they are now Mexico origin.
  15. Good point. I don't know if it would be that good to have so much grease in there all the time either, might cause too much heat as it would essentially cause drag. So if I refill the buddies, just fill the hub full with grease, put the buddy on and give it a couple shots until the spring comes out a bit but not to the end?
  16. I was reading through a few threads on here about bearing buddies and I just worked on a trailer recently that had them. I couldn't believe the amount of wasted grease just sitting in the hub and I think it was actually causing drag on the wheel. What do you guys think of them? My initial thoughts are they put too much grease in the hub.
  17. I use a 6'3 M xf baitcaster and its great. When I get the big lunkers on there it can get challenging but for the most part the fish I catch its a fun rod for the senkos.
  18. Looks like she's toast then. Where would one find a decent 3 footer for a reasonable price?
  19. I was dismantling my antenna the other day and the wire has broken off from inside. Do you guys think this can be fixed or am I stuck getting another one?
  20. It sounds like most are off shore now even the marathons
  21. Ok great thanks for the reply I'm well within the range. Where do you guys recommend a good place to buy trailer tires? I've seen goodyear marathons around, not sure what the other reputable brands are. Thanks!
  22. I had a quick question about the rating on trailer tires: If a tire is rated to handle a load of say 1000lbs at a given PSI: Say an axle weighs total 1000lbs. For each side would that mean its carrying 500lbs each or would you use the 1000lb rating? Just curious as I was reading up on this today.
  23. I've always wondered if it has any ill effects on the seals vs. dino oil.
  24. I'm thinking of switching to Amsoil synthetic motor and gear oil for my motor and I was wondering if its worth the switch. Motor is late 90's 4 stroke so wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to switch to synthetic. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks
  25. At that price hds 7
