  1. Aside from shallow water launch bunks are great just drive right on no worry about lining up rollers
  2. "should" should be a "must" in the manual. They can be had around 8-12 dollars at NAPA
  3. I landed a 42'' last year trolling in the fall on a 6'6 MH w/ a shimano baitcaster w/65lb braid. No issues on that size fish but repetitive on that setup would wear out the reel pretty quick if its pulling drag all the time. When you start targeting 40+ inch fish on a regular basis you should really be looking at heavier tackle. From what I've seen on TV, doing figure 8's at the boat and have the fish smash it so close to the boat would really break light tackle in a hurry. Having a proper net and tools to get the hooks and fish out of the net is just as important. I bet quite a few fatalities are related to fish being improperly held or stuck in the net out of the water.
  4. Try looking up Allen Personnel, Lucas Works, Kelly services, Knighthunter and Wowjobs. All have listings for the London area. You should be able to find something in London area depending on what you are willing to take for salary. Might be worth going to a placement agency to make sure your resume is solid and relevant for what you're looking for. As for the finances, you really should talk to an adviser (maybe at your local bank?, or someone in your family recommends?). I hear talk of consolidation loans with lower rates etc but as Cliff mentioned there could be good and bad with that. Its always a good exercise to determine what are your nice to haves and what are your must haves in case you need to sell something in a time of crisis. You're on the right track reaching out and being proactive just in case you can't land something soon. Good luck in your search.
  5. You may be able to track down a toro used for that price or check the states for scales
  6. 179 on amazon free shipping in usa if close to border. 239 actually called yesterday...
  7. Unless you aren't hitting the optimal RPM range sometimes a smaller pitch will give you more top end. 1 step down in pitch usually increases the RPM by 200. These guys and mercury have a good wizard to get you started http://www.turningpointpropellers.com/
  8. That is a giant net! That is a great price at $219 CDN its bigger than the 116y stowmaster.
  9. Interesting...
  10. Worth a call to double check but I doubt it. Maybe we can do an OFC group buy lol
  11. Jb's has the 116y stowmaster for $230 and in stock. I think they want too much you can order one off amazon for $180 if you are close to border. Anyone have an in at jb's for a discount???
  12. Hey guys one more question... Where the kicker would be placed, its actually 17-18 inches from the bottom of the boat. Would a short shaft be better in this instance or better with a long?
  13. They do require venting...before I got my CTEK charger and was using a junk charger on the Optima it was actually cooking out gas...they have release valves.
  14. If the smoke currently isn't an issue for you, than stick to what works. The Amsoil will typically not smoke as much. Other than that you probably won't notice any other difference in that older motor.
  15. Thanks guys. I verified that this net is made under license from Stowmaster. I was thinking something along the lines of the 94IM in the stowmaster, sounds like these nets are really deep! 42 and 50 for the 94IM comparable version.
  16. Can anyone comment on the new Frabill power stow nets? http://www.frabill.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Powerstow%20net It looks like they have joined forces with Stowmaster on this one http://stowmaster.norsemenoutdoors.com/shop/category/stowmaster/tournament . Just wondering what the netting is like etc.
  17. Mix it properly and it should smoke considerably less. If I had to premix that would be what I'd use.
  18. Amsoil saber 2 stroke outboard. Canadian tire should have it or look up local dealers on their site. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/ato.aspx
  19. Texpro in port dover is a princecraft dealer try them. check quebec as well.
  20. After full can change plugs and use amsoil synthetic oil for 2 stroke mix going forward
  21. I'm rated for a 60 also. The motor is carburated its one of the early 4 stroke mercs (mostly Yamaha motor I believe). Do you have a newer EFI model? You can probably dial them right down. I hear you on the transom weight, a 6hp could easily go on there. A 9.9 is getting close to the limit I would think.
  22. Hey Roy - Is your 60 an EFI? Mine carb'd goes fairly quick at idle...and it don't idle great sometimes (residual water in gas I think, need to go on a good run). I'm looking at a kicker primarily for a backup motor and occasional trolling.
  23. Here's a pic of what I'm dealing with. I think a 6hp would be about as big as I could go with that room? It should push it around 6mph/hull speed? Might have to set her straight and steer with the main.
  24. Looks like a nice place I'll give them a shout would like to stay there this fall. They have walleye, muskie, and lake trout in that lake as well correct?
  25. No doubt...6hp is probably close to the minimum to move it at any decent speed. Anyone else run a 6hp on their boat?
