I dunno what the mods are here for if not to suspend/terminate the likes of Eastern steelheader. Who cares if Roy or another mod can ID him as an alius identity. For cripes sake, do the right thing and warn him via email, then after the shot over the bow, if he persists then suspend him. It's gotten to the point of physical threats being made against CC and the kid. The mods want HITS?!?! Is that why this nonsense is allowed to continue? Shame!

Thanks for the link Percher. I skimmed it and got this...... and even though the article is from Australia, it must come close to the way gov't treats vehicles here. They're in cahoots you know! LOL! Here's a passage re what a vehicle without a towing-amount sticker cantow, that was interesting... " When the trailer doesn’t have brakes installed, the maximum capacity will be equal to the unladen mass of the motor vehicle." To me that means you shouldn't tow anything almost as heavy as the empty towing vehicle. So it seems in Australia at least, a car is allowed to tow a light 14ft tinny with motor around, since there ain't no way a 14ft tinny with trailer and motor weighs as much as the tow vehicle.

Best report and pics you've ever done Wayne!!! Thank you my friend for such an enjoyable fishing report! That's the Temagami fishing I remember... including guys having their lines snapped once in a while.

If the tires slip at the ramp some folks recommend keeping a small pail of cat litter, road salt, sand/gravel mix in the trunk. I'm not sure that cat litter is best for the environment, but a small pail of sand with a bit of gravel in it should get you out re algae or wet ramp or even a bit of ice.

Maybe this'll help you Fisherman. MOT stands for Ministry of Ontario Transport. They have the allowances for Ontario. They can give facts, not speculation as comes from all of us including you. Reread the post to be clear on wat I said and quit being insulting. Have a nice day too.
-
Sorry, I had been slunked away hiding at work. All good information to know. Lots of speculation still, even though I as well as the rest of you have opinion as to who is right re the weight inclusion question. Perhaps best to talk to the MOT and if viable have the brakes upgraded along Tybo and Vance's line and perhaps do the trailer brake thing to safely comply with the laws and vehicle towing capacity. On a lighter note you could shed weight off things by temporarily removing unused seats, doors and quarter panels. Now yer talking the Clampet mobile! Years ago we'd use roof racks to get the 12-14 ft tinny to the lake and toss the outboard in the trunk. Always drove extra cautiously and along with a cazillion other folks got there and back safely. Not everyone is able to justify getting a womping big truck to tow with. Nice to here ways for a car owner to get by to go fishing. Appreciate that.
-
Maybe someone here knows..... towing capacity is with anyone in the vehicle, or towing with just a driver? The variance is kinda significant between the two.
-
No probs. You in the car with three 200lb guys and some crap in the trunk is about the same weight to stop as you alone towing the boat. Just drive carefully and don't do something foolish in bad weather. My opinion.

Thanks for the update! Excuse me a moment while I clear my throat...... ROY!!!!! Glad your OK little buddy, but please counter any such crisis with good news reports when they pass! OK! Glad you are over whatever it was that's got your situation in upheaval.
-
Surely someone lives close to him or has his phone number to check up on him. Can anybody give an update for the folks here? Sounds like he was in some kinda crisis last night . Any Mods got some info... can you Mods do some diggin'? Can anyone here provide any kinda help in any way to the ole dwarf?

Tatoos. Yep! Tatoos!!! That hombre is obviously some kinda street gang member. I go with the prop injury idea too!

Thank you. You're a wealth of useful information......... Red an' white Daredevil under a float? LOL! I have recently bought about 6 Woodies since they're supposed to work good tracking just above the lake's weedlines. Tried em on my favorite lake with no results yet. I try and fish a lake names Stoney just north of Peterborough here in Ontario. Haven't caught anything to speak of in season there yet. But I'm working on it!

Nice to have your knowledge and experience here. I never fished Lake St Clair but remember an article in Field and Stream or another outdoors mag back in the 60's or early 70's of guys chasing a reported 7 fter there. As a young lad I sure was wide-eyed about that story! Mind saying what's the biggest you've seen/tangled with in St Clair? Do you fish other lakes here in Ontario?

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day and find some time to make loud noises!

Violence has its place. Proof is in the pudding.

I heard on the news that the celebs were not going to be driven in limos as usual, but were to be driven there in 20 or 30 alternative fuel vehicles in support of the environment. Anyone have any links or anything to see these machines and get descriptions? I missed the show (like... too bad. Har har!) but was hoping the commentators would spend a bit of time explaining each vehicle. Nice for celebs to show support for fuel efficiency.... and let's forgive em when they get back to their mansions and go for a toot in one of their Hummers/helicoptors!

Congratulations! I imagine the Diamonds will still get a few enjoyable"guest trips" with you folks on their old friend. Giving the boat to your family was probably as good a good feeling to them as it was to you.

Holocaust! Roy? Whaaaaa? OK, but don't forget to include the book burning then Roy. Let's never forget the book burning.

Thanx Wayne. Fish just seem to follow that Ron guy around. Congrats to your daughter Ron! A real "chip off the old block!"
-
Great goin! Wish I coulda gone too (the work thing sucks, it really does ) I surmise from the cryptic messages in a coupla threads that ole Ron the "Simcoe guru" had something to do with 1st place prize? Surely someone can verify/post prize standings. Ron's a shy fellow, so someone really ought to do the right thing and rat him out to the rest of us!!!!
-
Great report and pics! Congrats on catching something too. Lots of competition there.... in fact, if you look closely between all the anglers you see a bit of the lake you're all standing on. LOL! Fantastic prises too!!!!!! How much was the entry fee?
-
Hope you and the family get well soon Doug. Take care bud.

I deal with Praxair and they have a brand called Miller. Blue machine. Had one for years and it worked flawlessly......unlike some of my welding zig-zags. LOL! Some are 120 or can be rewired for 220. One I had was about $700. I recall.

Gerritt. Yer a great guy. Now quit apologizin alla time. Sheesh!!! Try to cut down.... maybe try for one a week.... then one every two months and so on. Soon you'll get used to the idea of having folks taking swipes, and you'll shrug it off or post accordingly. Alla best bud!
