  1. The scary part is none of them are stock. Most have major upgrades in suspension, braking, electronics. and of course engines. We (my Brother) and I love to make stock looking sleepers. The blue beetle was especially fun with Mcpherson struts, porsche steering assy. and a 2 twin carburetors 1835 engine putting out 120 HP. Leaving the stop light torching the tires in 1st and 2nd leaves a lot of slack jaws watching.

I had a 1980 Mazda GLC grocery getter that I did an engine swap on.

I swapped in an RX7 rotary and tranny.

The thing went like a raped ape!!!!

Scary on the highway when you opened it up.

She started to get light as you passed 200 kph.

Wish I had known about ground effects back then as it was still pulling hard at that speed and I still had a gear to go!!!! :w00t:

Drag racing it was dang fast too. Once raced some guy that had a sparkling new Indy Pace Car Camaro.

Beat him by 1/2 dozen car lengths in an 1/8 mile.

The dude was really pissed!! :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

  2. There! That wasn't so hard was it Dave? lol

This was the first year in awhile that it felt like there just weren't enough lake trout in my season. Scrappy greys make happy days!

The rest of the year I only got to fish 3 times for a couple of hours here and there.

This helped to make up for that. ;)

  3. Thanks for the fishing report. You nut's or what Dave? Even your first mate questioned the route. I have never seen an Arctic Ice Breaker with a bow mount electric before. Yea you guys up there have to be a bit nuts, a good nuts though. I love it.

  4. Looks like there was ice broken up earlier Dave. Hunters?

    Those are pretty fish.

    Cabin owners mostly.

But the ice in the back bays of the launch bay were broken up by boat and wind on Saturday.

There were sheets of ice scattered all over the bay on Saturday.

Saw one other fishing boat and several going to their cabins but now hunters.

There were plenty of ducks about though. Would have been a good couple of days hunting for them if I wasn't after the troots. :)

  5. Finally got out for a little late season laker and pikes fishing.

Been fighting the flu for the previous 3 weekends and missed out on a bunch of good fall feedbag fishing. :(

So on Saturday I got out with one buddy to fish my lake and we had a pretty good day landing 2 pike and 14 lakers between 4 and 10#'s.

We even had a double header.

Seems I missed the voracious pike bite when I was ill.

Got out with another buddy on Saturday and we managed 19 trout and 0 pike.

Size was the same 4-10#'s. We even got another double header. :)

This was the last trip though as the launch bay was pretty crunchy and will be solid by next week. Watch in HD.

All in all a stellar weekend with more than 30 lakers landed and quite a few lost plus a ton of bumps and short strikes.

Gotta love the late season pre-ice bite!!!   :good:  :good:

  6. Ps- I love how muskymatt says Mathews has blue and white disease despite the fact he has 9 points in 5 games. If blue and white disease is being on pace for 150 points this season, sign me up!

Yes it's terrible!!! Can't believe how poorly he is playing.

Just last week he was on pace for 328 goals this season. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

Maybe we should trade him? :tease: :tease: :tease: :tease:

  7. I went fishing today!!!! :D

Only the 4th time this year!!!!!!

Caught fish too. Water temp @ the launch 1*C.

Water temp on the lake 6*C.

Wind NE 15k gusting to 25k.

    Fishing was pretty darned good!!!

My buddy and I boated 14 lakers and 2 pike in just over 4 hours of fishing. :)

Nothing of any size though. 8 or 10# was the largest. Most were 4-6#'s

Heading back out in the AM. Launch bay will be frozen by next weekend so I'm done until safe ice.

  8. this car has been around a while ironmaker...there are faster cars that have been developed including a car developed by koensigg that has a power to weight ratio of 1...thats right...1hp per lb.

I just saw the new Koenigsegg rims this week.

They are super sweet carbon fiber deals.

Much sexier than the original ones. :)

  9. Barbless is the rule here in The NWT.

I will go barbless when fishing places that don't require it as well when the fishing is hot and fast so as not to damage fish and aid in releasing.

I also use just one hook on multiple hook lures when fishing pike and lakers so they don't get hurt while rolling.

  10. Your link doesnt work for me

    Don't know why.

    ALERT STATUS: YELLOW

This is the DEFCON Warning System. Alert status for 8 P.M., Thursday, October 13th, 2016. Condition code is Yellow. DEFCON 3.

Tensions between Russia and the United States have reached levels beyond the cold war in the recent week.

The situation between Russia and the United States is extremely fluid at the moment. In all likelihood as dynamic as at times during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Mainstream media has taken a very serious tone concerning the change from diplomatic to military options between NATO and Russia. CNN stated, “It's not a new Cold War. It's not even a deep chill. It's an outright conflict.†On October 10th Former Soviet Premier Gorbachev is quoted as saying, “I think the world has reached a dangerous point.â€â€¨â€¨There are signs of a potential growing large scale conflict in nearly every geopolitical hotspot including Syria, Yemen, Ukraine, and the Philippines. Syria is seen as one of the trigger points to the renewed tensions between the United States and Russia. The United States has also accused Russia of a cyberattack and meddling with the US Presidential Election. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest promised on Tuesday that the U.S. would deliver a “proportional†response to Russia’s alleged hacking of American computer systems. The US and Britain are also expected to weigh into Syrian military options on Friday. This could increase tensions between the two superpowers to a greater extent.

Moreover, Houthi rebels on the South Coast of Yemen fired one anti-ship missile at the U.S.S. Mason on Sunday, and another on Wednesday. The Pentagon responded by firing 5 TLAM missiles at radar stations inside Yemen. Around this same time, Iran dispatched a fleet of ships to the area. The U.S.S. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group has also been dispatched to the area.

At this time, the DEFCON Warning System feels that an increase to DEFCON 3 would be a prudent move. The situation is currently fluid with diplomatic ties strained and military threats coming from both sides. Russian media is reportedly telling its citizens to prepare for nuclear war. Russia has recently conducted civil defense drills and completed inspections of underground areas to house government officials and some civilians in the event of nuclear war. This is a very sensitive situation which has the potential to spiral out of control. It is recommended that all citizens learn the steps to be taken in the event of nuclear war. We will continue to bring updated information as we receive it.

The DEFCON Warning System is an analytical reporting organization which focuses on nuclear threats against the United States and offers an alert code to the public based on current events. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack.

If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.

The next scheduled update is 6 P.M. Pacific Time, October 20th, 2016. Additional updates will be made as the situation warrants, with more frequent updates at higher alert levels.

This concludes this broadcast of the DEFCON Warning System.
