The Toronto Maple Leafs' search for a backup goaltender to the newly acquiredFrederik Andersen could be at its end.
Swedish outlet Expressen's Johan Svensson reports the team is nearing a deal withJhonas Enroth. The 28-year-old Swede spent last season with the Los Angeles Kings, backing up Jonathan Quick. He appeared in 16 games, going 7-5-1 with a goals against average of 2.17 and a .922 save percentage.
Enroth was originally taken with the 46th-overall pick in the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. After nearly five seasons with the Sabres, Enroth was shipped to the Dallas Stars at the 2015 trade deadline.
In 147 career NHL games, the Stockholm native is 50-66-15 with a 2.80 GAA, .911 save percentage and seven shutouts. Enroth has represented Sweden internationally on a number of occasions, including as part of the gold medal-winning team at the 2013 IIHF World Championship and the team that captured silver at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
The Leafs also have goaltenders Garret Sparks and Antoine Bibeau under contract.

Good day at the cabin today. Temps were perfect, bugs were not around and only a passing shower this afternoon. Got nearly all of the porch roof rafters up. If the weather holds I should be able to get some sheathing done tomorrow.
-
Why am I still alive then?
-
Lost most of yesterday to rain, but got some stuff done today. All the decking is down and the roof framing has started. Looks like a bunch more rain over the next 3 days though.
Hopefully get the rest of the posts tied into the cabin tomorrow so I can start work on the roof rafters. Need to get the sheathing down so I can measure and order my roofing.

Was it really a bear??
Yes, No ISIS attacks in Northern BC as far as I know.

careful with buffs guys.
many i've seen, including those cheap discount ones that were posted on here last year (yes, i fell for it as well) don't have any uv protection.
you get what you pay for.
if you pay <$10 for a buff, it likely has zero uv protection.
You mean these ones?
That say SPF40 on the site?

Keep an eye on their page a couple of weeks ago they only had the 350 Yammy.
They had a couple of 200's earlier in the year.

What is the shaft length on your motor?
Bridgeview marine in BC gets lease returns all the time from their lodge clients.
They currently have 2 150hp Verados for $6K each but they are 25" XL motors.
OH, and don't worry about getting it out to you.
I bought my new 115 4 stroke from them and they shipped it to me.
Cost $700 for shipping but I still saved over $3K if I bought locally.

That does sound pretty costly to me.
You could look into the cost of a new motor and see how much difference the cost would be to upgrade to newer tech.
All 3 of those cylinders seem low on compression.
My '91 2 stroke Merc was about 120 psi on each cylinder when I sold it in 2013.

This is by far my favourite thread to keep up with, thanks Dave! Are you going to screen in the deck?
Not this deck.
Plan is to eventually have another deck off the front which will be connected to the side deck with a screened in octagonal gazebo.
-
Just about done the decking and then I can frame up the roof over it.

And that is the only video you’ll find about the whole thing because no media was invited. It was just about putting smiles on kids faces. What a beauty.

Beans 'n beer - that'll do it every time! (think "natural gas" if'n ya didn't get it)
Seriously though, I do hope it was unoccupied when said bear dropped by! What a mess!
Michael
From what I read the guy was not there at the time.
It was in Northern BC. Looks like the grizz was being territorial as it also destroyed his out house!!!

Well now!!!
I may not have been a big fan of Kessel when he played for the Leafs but I will say the man is a heck of a guy!!!!

Phil Kessel brings Stanley Cup to Toronto SickKids HospitalBy Matthew Cullen, CBC Sports Posted: Jul 18, 2016 4:43 PM ET Last Updated: Jul 18, 2016 4:43 PM ET

One year ago, the thought of Phil Kessel with the Stanley Cup in Toronto was pretty much unimaginable. How times can change.
On Monday, the oft-criticized former Maple Leafs' star made good on his promise to bring the Cup to the city he called home for five years.
However, instead of a flashy news conference or a public event, Kessel made a quiet visit to a place he knew would appreciate it – Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children.
The 28-year-old spent the day Monday at SickKids sharing the Cup with children and their families.
SickKids was buzzing with #StanleyCup fever today! Thx for visiting our patients & families @PKessel81 #NHL
When Kessel first announced in late June that he would be returning north of the border with the Cup, many thought the former Leaf was just taunting the Toronto fan base that hasn't celebrated its own championship since 1967.
@PKessel81 taking the cup back to Toronto is pretty much a big middle finger to the entire city
However, the Madison, Wis., native now seems to have quashed any bad feelings about the move with the Toronto faithful.
I've not been a @PKessel81 fan these last few yrs, but I tip my hat to him bringing #StanleyCup to @sickkids. Classy.
Phil Kessel takes the Cup back to Toronto and lets kids who are sick in the hospital have a great day with it. What a human.
Kessel even had some extra company coming down for the big visit – former Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf and actress wife Elisha Cuthbert.
Kessel amassed 394 points in 446 career regular-season games during his five-year tenure with Toronto before being traded to Pittsburgh last summer. After an unspectacular regular season, Kessel had 22 points in 24 playoff games as the Penguins won their fourth Stanley Cup in franchise history. -
So you thought you would go out and get yourself a nice little camper as you like to camp but there are many bears in your area and you don't feel safe in a tent. Good thought, but it seems that nice little camper isn't much of a deterrent to a bear!!!!!
They only seem safer!!!

You guys wearing baseball type caps - your must better off with a wide brim hat to cover your ears - that's where I got some cancer - on the top of my ear -
Buff covers my ears.

If this were my place, I think the first thing I'd be investing in, would be a high volume gas water pump and a few lengths of fire hose. Maybe even install a perforated pipe, that would run the length of the roof ridge; it be like a soaker hose for the house.
It be a shame for all that work to go up like kindling.
Dan.
Way ahead of ya Dan.
Going to purchase a 85 psi 7,600 GPH pump that will feed agricultural sprinklers mounted on the roof and around the cabin.
It will also be used to fill my domestic water tank.

Here are some more shirts like the ones I wear in extreme heat. Especially when fishing in the tropics.
Long sleeves always so my forearms don't get BBQ'd!!!
-
All is good.
It's many miles away.
Fire guys are mainly working to keep it from spreading West back towards town and my cabin.
-
After yesterdays gusty and heavy winds the fire is now 15706 acres.
-
Starting to look like some kind of deck thing. We also have a large wildfire burning about 25 miles away to the SE.It started Thursday evening and has grown to 6,500 acres in a day.Don't know how much it's grown today.
-
I wear the kind of shirts they do down in the tropics along with a face mask and long billed hat.
These guys have a bunch of stuff and some pretty decent sales too.
The long sleeve shirts actually breathe really, really well and it feels like you are shirtless but they have great UV stopping power.
Same deal with the face shields.
There are plenty of other manufacturers of this type of clothing as well.
Last time I was in Florida I went to the Tampa boat show and got a bunch of shirts off a friend of a friend for a really good price.

Little more productive day today. Still as hot as yesterday but there's a good wind and some clouds to knock down the killer rays.
