My panels are going on my roof @ the cabin.
Probably going to run my cables in conduit so the squirrels and ravens can't mess with them.
Roof is metal so I don't have to worry about them messing about with that.
1,800 watts of panels will be connecting to an 80 amp charge controller and to a bank of 6 volt deep cycle batteries which then connect to a 3,500 watt switching inverter and generator. The entire system should be about $10K but will run everything I need to.
Generator should only need to be run in winter due to lack of sunlight. With 20 hours of daylight in the summer it will not need to be used.

I have looked into solar, 30k, repaid after 8 years. It's not bad imo. The only drawback is the liability, I have a friend who did it with his house and squirrels ended up just wrecking his roof, damaged 3 panels and he had water damage as a result of the damage caused on the roof, he had to shell out big money to remove the panels, fix the roof and then replace and have them setup again.
Metal roof!!!
Just sayin'.

Yup, I saw it.
If it was my boat his shop would be a smouldering pile of ash today with the owner nicely BBQ'd in the middle of the pile.
This is why I'm glad I have the skills to this kind of thing myself and don't need to rely on others.

I didn't do much as I was battling an infection but it seems some of the locals here like a go for little swim on the long weekend.
-
well this makes tons of sense. :shakes head:
We're going to save you $24B off your hydro bill and it's only going to cost you $45B!!!!
Man, politicians are complete morons!!!

I heard a stat today that Anderson is a perfect 7-0 in game 7's.
So he's ready to fold like a cheap card table then.

It is sad for sure. Conference finals and game 6 with a few empty seats, not a lot but any is too much.
I was doing some checking and this is likely a huge part of it.
- Ottawa is a smaller market, no question about that. At one million people it is likely one of the smaller markets in the league but growing.
- Ticket prices are from $200 to $930 each so figure mid range seats will cost a couple 2@ $450 =$900 for one game.
- They raised the parking from $20 to $30 for the playoffs, a 50% increase......GREED!
- Beers are $11 each and a hotdog will set you back $6.
- With tickets, parking and a snack and 3-4 beers each, a game will set you back over $1000.
Now I don't know about the laffites on here but I know I can't afford a thousand bucks a game for a hockey game. And certainly not more than one game a playoffs. I can't imagine dropping $5000 on 5 or six games.
I like to go the tropics in the winter so that is where I choose to spend my money.
Actually you laffites probably could afford it, you have been saving your money for 50 years
Seriously though, my uncle lives in the GTA, is a huge laffs fan and doesn't go to the games because of the cost. I would assume this is common for all or most of the guys on here.
Big difference is more big spenders in Toronto and all the little guys get left out.
Bull!!!!
Cheapest seats for Leafs 1st round were $500 each.
And get this, the games were sold out instantly!!!
There is tons of $$$$ in Ottawa as that's where all our hard earned money goes!!!!
Just ask your buddy Justin!!!

Just waiting for Matt to tell us how the Sens dominated and are the team to beat.
Even though we all know he tuned out as soon as the Sens let in the first goal!!!
-
Canada/Sweden going into OT. on TSN.

This Ottawa - Pittsburgh game is going EXCELLENT!!
Yes it is!!! The Sens are playing awesome!!!!

Are trailers built like that as a factory option or is that almost always a custom home job alteration?
It's factory.

It's a toy hauler pop up camper. It's made to haul a 4 wheeler or dirt bikes on the front.
Yes they are tongue heavy, therefore one installs a load distribution hitch just as you would when hauling a heavier bumper tow hard side camper.
My buddy has a 21' hard side and pulls with a 1/2 ton. He picked up an equalizing hitch and it's much better.
-
Weight distribution hitch will help a lot.
If after installing one it's still heavy on the vehicles suspension add a set of air bags and you'll be good to go.

Phaneuf is up to his old tricks again!!!

Rule # 258:
Regardless of all other rules, the Ottawa Senators suck, did suck and will suck in spite of wins or playoff position.
Until which time that they move to Quebec City and at said time the aforementioned team will no longer suck.

Duct tape and a coke can. Cut the can in half and put over the hub and tape it. Dont laugh all, it works in a pinch like this.
Been there, done that, got the tee shirt!!!
I didn't use duct tape though I used a hose clamp big enough to fit.

Looks like it might be fun on Coaches Corner on Saturday night.

Don't be fooled, it's easy for a team playing really bad to make a mediocre team look awesome. Did the Pens look anything like the reigning Cup champs last night?
OH, I'm not fooled. The Pens were wearing concrete skates last night.
It was a terrible game on their part. The Sens took advantage of it and were hitting, skating and playing hard.
The Pens, weren't.
-
Did the Pens show up to the last game or did they send their AAA farm team? lol
Looked like it.
The Sens played like a contender last night finally.

Honda's also are an ugly red colour!!!

No problem Jimmer.
Good luck with the job.
Take lots of pics and keep us updated on the project.
FYI, if you're replacing 50 rivets get the bigger rivet tool or you'll be able to crush rocks bare handed by the time you're done!!!!
I used a large tool for the bulk of my replacements and a small one for one or two at a time replacements.
