    Someone will get him.

Another great game of goaltending and a lucky 2 points for the Leafs. Better than a loss, I say.

He has a hearing today regarding his spear from the bench last night.

Someone really does need to straighten the kid out.

His captain and coach should be giving him crap for the stupid stuff he does.

If he gets suspended again this will be the third time since last year.

There's a difference between playing on the edge and being a dirty player.

Right now he's just a dirty player.

I have CDN and US Military Bunny Boots, going on 15 years with these things. The Canadian and US military are issued  these white things in the Arctic. Not great for long walks but just fantastic to keep warm and dry and that's what you want. If you see them come up on Kijiji or EBay buy them. I paid 50 bucks for mine at the Army Surplus in Hamilton. When you watch all these reality TV shows in Alaska and the Yukon you will see most everyone wears them.

These are my ice fishin' booties. :)

Got a set of the black Mickeys too.

  3. I've always just used these for the most part.

I wear them here in Yellowknife in the winter when working outside the house here in town and use them in the spring and fall when fishing/launching the boat etc.

Inexpensive and they last quite a long time.

When ice fishing/snowmobiling etc I wear my white US military bunny boots.

  4. I've been out a time or two.

You can do it with a really good freighter pack and snowshoes but a tub sleigh would be better.

Early season I use a ski pulk and it works well.

I made my ski pulk from a kids plastic toboggan and some rope.

Can't seem to find any pics of it. :(

It's nice when you have a good tent, thick foamy and a wood stove to keep you toasty on the lake.

This was a week long camping trip 100 miles from the nearest town. :)

That had to be a fisher or pine marten, or fox.

I was thinking pine marten too.

When I first got my cabin property there was pine marten sign around and no bunnies.

Now I don't see any sign but crap loads of bunnies.

    I guess they'll be back soon. ;)

  6. Back in the 80's I was out on Simcoes laker grounds 12 miles out.

The hut operator took us out in the Bombardier in the AM and we started fishing.

Sometime around lunch there was a huge rumbling and the hut jumped nearly a foot up off the ice and a fountain of water came up through the 4'X6' hole!!!!  :o:o

Everyone piled out of the huts to see what the heck just happened.

Nothing to be seen anywhere.

When the outfitter came to pick us up at the end of the day he told us a large pressure crack formed and he could not go over it so we would need to climb over and walk the last little bit.

We get to the pressure crack which had formed 20 or 30' from shore and was 15-20 feet high!!!!

It went on for miles in both directions.

Must have been awesome to see it let go. The amount of energy released must have been huge.

Almost like an earthquake on the ice.

    An icequake!!!!

I think the Leafs might be over achieving a little bit. Anderson has been great. I think the Oilers are underachieving and I wouldn't be surprised if they get back on track (hopefully not starting tonight) and make the playoffs and do some damage.

I'm gonna be a little tired tomorrow, so be it, I'm looking forward to this game.

The Leafs look like a way better team tonight.

    Edmonton's defense is horrible.

Probably why we have 3 goals at the end of one period.  ;)

  8. Was just perusing the standings.

Things are looking pretty bleak for Canadian teams at this point.

The only Canadian teams in a playoff spot are Toronto & Winnipeg.

All the teams West or East of those two are out at this point. :(

I still can't believe the Oilers are so bad with all the #1 draft picks they have had.
