jesus christ...I wasnt using very heavy tackle for mine either just a medium heavy rod and a standard 4000 series reel. My snag started making my line cut through the water from the front of to the back of the boat at 100kmh and then proceeded to jump 10 feet into the air.

We almost lost my friends wife to a big one a couple of days later.

We were all sitting around the back of the boat yakking and having a few wobblies.

It was her and her husbands charter and they had large live mullet out for bait.

All of a sudden my buddies wife went flying across the deck as a jumbo tarpon took off with her bait.

Luckily we were on a big sportfisher with high gunnels. She dropped to her knees and went sliding into the stern.  :D

Kinda hilarious the reaction to this trade vs the soshnikov one. Everyone on Twitter was like "oh great a 7th rounder for Fehr! You never know what a 7th rounder can bring!!!"

Meanwhile after they traded sosh, "are you ****ing kidding me a 4th rounder for soshnikov OMG!!"

Fehr scored 3 goals en route to a cup with the penguins, is a veteran player who can be an everyday NHL player.d Soshnikov on the other hand, had upside but was hurt and scored a grand total of 14 points in 70 games... I'd say they did great getting a 4th rounder for him lol

I would take any and all of these 7th rounders from the last 10 years. :)

When I got rid of the X5, my wife convinced me to drive her "old" 2009 Acura MDX and she bought a new Acura RDX.  I decided to do that, and drive the MDX for a while till I decide what I want.  Well, I am sorta getting used to not having a car break down, lights go on and things fall off.  Acura's and Honda just seem to work.  Normal maintenance items (at less than 1/2 the cost of BMW) only.  We both like SUVs for bit more ride height.

By the way, the BMW and Benz snobs at work will tell me that their cars are great, but they seem to be coming in late after dropping their cars off an awful lot.  (typing this I remember another BMW story.  I have hundreds.  For about two years, the rear seat floors would be soaking wet in the winter.  I mentioned it every time I went in (which was a lot).  They told me I should kick the snow off my feet before getting in the car.  I said, how does that explain the passenger rear seat?  Anyway went on for at least 2 winters.  So I googled wet carpets in rear of BMW X5.  Turns out there was a known problem and the dealers would fix it if you complained.  Get this.... the rear doors fill up with water and the design of the door is that they glue an inner liner of thin plastic over the inside of the door before installing the interior.  Their glue failed and they new it. So when I went in the next time I told them I had googled the problem, and they needed to fix it.  And they did.  It took 2 years to get that fixed.  I have many more.  I have four inches of service invoices that I keep.

Anyway, I just may go for another MDX this time around.  The expression "runs like a Honda" is not an urban myth.

Not your moms soccer mobile either. :D

  5. We have coyotes and wolves up here in YK.

There are lots of sighting of yotes in town and there have been some wolf sightings too.

In fact my friend saw a wolf in my driveway a couple of weeks ago.

Several years ago a couple of blocks away from me a guy was taking his dog out for a walk and when he turned to lock his door a wolf killed his golden retriever.

We have also had cougars, lynx, black and grizzly bears and I have even seen a wolverine at my house.

In Yellowknife you step out of the tour bus and into the food chain!!!!  :lol:

My gf shoots clays sometimes at the Galt Sportsman's Club and seems to enjoy it. I'm shooting a friend's guns at his home range in those pics. I'll get my own someday but right now not in the budget, sadly.

I'm surprised there isn't a place up there for you to shoot clays. Seems like there'd be lots of interest...

Mostly rifle and some pistol at the gun club here. :'(

Possibly, but judging from the stats, Methot hasn't made much a contribution to Vegas's success this year.  It doesn't look like it would take much to be an improvement over Methot this year.

I guess we will see how L.A. does with him.  They are currently one spot out of the playoffs.

Actually he's made a big contribution to the Knights.

He was traded to the Stars before the Knights ever played a game for a goalie prospect and 2nd round pick in 2020.  ;)

maybe things are different with your supplier, but when we were on propane the onus was on me to check the gauge and call for delivery when needed.

That's what I did for the last 10 years.

I'm with a new supplier now and they are doing auto fill.

They come once a month and fill me up.

Before I only had it filled twice a year but I did mess up and run out a couple of times.
