Ryder always gives the Leafs trouble... Leafs have a 2man advantage going into the third, Sundin NEEDS to score! DANG! In it till the bitter end, even if it is only 20mins from now. GO LEAFS GOOO!!!
-
4-3 Habs... Tide turns awful fast.
-
Doesn't look like the Habs belong on an AHL rink so far. Nevermind the playoffs. Hope the Leafs can keep it up. Raycroft needs to stand on his head from here on in. GO LEAFS GO!!!

Roberts will give the Sens fits again, so if the Sens do win against Pittsburg, they can always pretend they beat the Leafs when it counted.
-
Yah, Fraser has been a real blessing for the leafs in the past hasn't he? I guess those kind of comments are expected from a Sens fan. Envy has its place everywhere. I thought Sens fans would want the Leafs to limp in so that the "mighty" Senators would vanquish them like they have in all, No... some, NO... ONE playoff matchup. I'm sure if Sundin had a Spezza or a killer like Heatly on his wing the Leafs would be a better team, but he doesn't so...

I agree with the "Just take a kid fishing" stance. Some of my earliest memories are of catching chub and small trout from small creeks. Along with that came the crayfish hunting, wildlife spotting, fort building... If you live in a newer suburb, maybe those things aren't readily available to your youngones. I think that all the catchbasins that are built around new suburbs should be stocked with fish to allow our young'uns access to fishing opportunities that may not be close by. If a child doesn't understand the joy of angling, they wont be as inclined to get into the competitive side later on in life. As far as what can the tourney scene do to improve attendance, Make them affordable. If you can get boats out for $10-$20 a boat you'll get much bigger fields. And for those who do well in these formats, the bigger circuit would then have some appeal. For me, if I wanted to test my skills, I don't want to pay $250 for a days fishing. The entry money alone is intimidating. I'd be happy to walk away with a trophy saying "Best Team" and the gas money to cover the days cost. Just that the prize money is nice, but it would be easier for a dad to take his kid out for a day and have fun at a low cost.

I see Serra getting beat pretty good, but his hands could get lucky, I guess. Sanchez should beat Kos tonight setting up a possible fight with GSP, in which we will see that he may have the tools to stay in a match with St.Pierre. His undoing will be his lack of smarts. GSPs arsenal is too great right now.

If theres anytime that the guns have to come out its tonight. They can't afford to let the habs get any kind of momentum. IMO, they should sit Steen and put Green or O'Neill back in the lineup. Sundin needs to make tonight his night. Tucker has to PLAY tonight and Raycroft needs to not let any bad goals. Pretty simple, I guess. Should be a doozy. GO LEAFS GO!!!

Thanks for the kind words guys. Glen, I don't think I'm going to get aluminum for the doors. Too expensive at this point. If/when I redo the deck in a couple of yrs, I will probably get the 3/4 marine grade ply. In that case I'd think about aluminum hatches due to the extra weight of the ply. But not this time. GCD thanks for the link. Some good info on lesser quality ply degrading marine grade carpet. That'll come in handy in the future. Take it easy.

Some nice-looking fish there, solo! Nice to see some guys braving the elements.WTG!

Thanks guys. Bookoo, its expensive stuff. But its there forever. No rust, no flex. I saved on plywood and carpet, and they can be dealt with at any time if they need to be replaced. The frame will hopefully last as long as the boat does.
-
Wow, I didn't know they hung out like that either... Thanks for sharing!
-
No better grade than free, GCD! What grade would you use, just for future referance? Think maybe I should give it a seal before putting the carpet on? Thanks.

I'm glad they at least have a shot at making the playoffs. Alot of teams had them written off as far down as last place, so in that regard this season is a success. AND once a team gets in... I BE-LEAF! GO LEAFS GO!!

Well, got around to working on the old girl today. Started out by finishing some braces and small knick-knacky stuff that didn't warrant any pics, one brace that was bugging me got fixed... Once the small stuff was out of the way, we got to cutting some plywood. Marking the doors to match the aluminum tubes was tricky but manageable. Also, I had to change plans midway due to a possible weakness if I constructed the rear platform by just adding another panel to the existing ones. So I had to remove all the existing bench panels that were there and decided to cut a full piece for the back... Heres some pics of the front section... I nixed the spinnerbait tray in the front as well, there was barely enough room for a spinnerbait by itself. If I put a trailer and hook on there they really bunched up and got caught on each other. A little dissapointing, but no big deal. I brought all the plywood inside to get it ready for carpeting tomorrow. all I have to do beforehand is cut the hinges and were off to the races! Well, there IS still a bilge pump to install before the rear platform goes on, but I can still carpet the decking and doors. Thanks for reading. Take it easy.

Congrats, krawler! You did the right thing by getting that combo, great set-up! You'll love it.

GCD, wait until the job is done. I also agree with your statement, but just didn't have it in the budget this year to get the job done that I wanted. And in the end, its not bad carpet... The finished product should look pretty good. "You had enough money to buy a new rod!" Thats true, I needed a new spinning rod and line and thats why the fishing gods sent me there on the way to the carpet joint. Take it easy and thanks for the kind words.

Thanks guys.I was going to get the marine carpet with a buddy of mine today. He decides to go to Gagnons on the way...Long story short, the money in my pocket magically turned into a spool of Power Pro $27.99, a spinnerbait $10.99, a buzzbait $5.99 and a 7ft Shimano Compre spinning rod $119.00. SOOOOOOO... I decided to go with the indoor/outdoor carpet after all. Came to $49. and change. So instead of getting the marine grade, which was over $170, I ended up spending $25 for this year. Provided it lasts two seasons. It seems durable enough. Thanks again.

I think a few of you have re-carpeted your boat decks with indoor/outdoor carpet instead of marine carpet. How does it stand up? I wanted to get the marine grade carpet and give my 14fter a real factory look, but its just too expensive for this years boat budget. If I get the indoor/outdoor stuff and can get two seasons out of it, I'd just as soon do that and get the marine grade carpet after that. Also how easy is it to remove after you're done with it? The ind/outd carpet is $49.68 for a 12ft x 6ft section and the marine carpet is $171.28 for the same size piece. The in/out comes in green(nasty) and grey(it'll do). The marine carpet, however comes in many more colors the best of which is the burgundy(ideal for a Lund). I already had to downgrade the latches, the matching ones were $40.00 each so I cut a corner there and I'm starting to think I should do the same with the carpet. Any feedback would help alot. Thanks.

Catch one of your racoon "roommates" and strap the key to its neck. Then leave the "roomie" in the garage when you move out. Better yet, gather up as many raccoons as you can and put them in the garage and invite your landlord over. When he gets there, lead him to the garage and allow him to be the first through the door. Watch the hilarity reach unprecedented levels . Otherwise, no. Don't give him the key.

Thanks GB, some good ones there!

Theres alot to think about bookoobeast, the best tip I can give you is take your time! Especially if you plan on pulling one of the benches. I'm in the middle of putting in a new front and rear deck and it takes time. I'm not using wood, though. I'm using aluminum which adds alot more time to the project. If you want to do it right, you should be sure of each step. Theres a couple of threads already started on the subject... here... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4936 and here... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5008 Hope this helps!
