  1. It's been a little while since I put up a report despites having fished 4 of the past 7 days. Nothing spectacular, just staying close to home and hitting a few spots. Lots of yellow and white perch for feasting on, but nobody wants to see 100 panfish pics

Peanut sure had a lot of fun chasing, and eating, the catch. Here's a wee sampling of the past few day's activity.

Even managed to catch some rays in the process.

  2. Simple truth about 6Mile is this. There is plenty of good fishing. On weekends there is an excessive amount of highspeed boat traffic, so the fish is a little tougher. The same for many a larger Muskoka lake. Never used to be that way but that's the way it is now. I run up between Tues. and Fri.

  3. Also, combinations of colours followed by the sufix "ish" are permissible.

    eg. turqoise = greenish-blue

Men only see 8 colours. The 8 you find in the basic crayon box.Salmon is a fish not a colour.

"ish' is grounds for revoking the card.

  4. Darn, I wish my little guy was that small again. Well 17 years later, my "little guy" out fishes me most days.

You mean, you're still letting your little guy outfish you. Gotta get the language right, :tease:

That wee fella is gonna bring you a lot of joy and heartache

  5. I still have the Rapala knife my Gram bought for me in the old country over 40 years back. The blade is getting a bit thin and the sheath is dark with age and abuse but I love it.

Perch are brutal on a blade. Constantly need to resharpen.

  6. You can get pike fillets at Sobey's from Manitoba.

Fresh, live fish are brought in from outside the province all the time. Some are farm raised, some are netted. Some are poached.

With tank loads of live fish it is not uncommon to have a tank of stripers with a few crappie and lm bass as bicatch from south of the border.
