Last time I fished the derby, it was also a high water year and a late season. Most of the top fish were caught along the edges in the submerged brush.

It's been a little while since I put up a report despites having fished 4 of the past 7 days. Nothing spectacular, just staying close to home and hitting a few spots. Lots of yellow and white perch for feasting on, but nobody wants to see 100 panfish pics
Peanut sure had a lot of fun chasing, and eating, the catch. Here's a wee sampling of the past few day's activity.
Even managed to catch some rays in the process.

Stopped raining by 930 and the clouds parted at 11. The sun shone and the fish co-operated.

Unless the fish are being kept for consumption, catch and kill of gamefish is a big no no! In which case the local MNR office should be getting involved.

Nice photo, Wayne. I caught my PB wally just on the downstream side of that dam. Way before yesterday, believe I was driving a '57 Pontiac at the time.
We used to slide down White's Falls as kids, beer in hand
How none of us ever got hurt is beyond me?

Every time some one yells "fish on" or "got em", my peanut is in the water chasing the fish. Woul not have it any other way.

Simple truth about 6Mile is this. There is plenty of good fishing. On weekends there is an excessive amount of highspeed boat traffic, so the fish is a little tougher. The same for many a larger Muskoka lake. Never used to be that way but that's the way it is now. I run up between Tues. and Fri.

There are some stream beds where land titles extend and include the stream bed.

From the farm perspective we are 3 weeks late. As for fishing, the perch are only just noe coming inshore on the big O. Usually done by now in some of my fave spots.
-
Sure you can, but only a 1 year. If you want to buy him a 3 year you need to go to a Service Ontario outlet. I did the same for my son a few years back when he turned 18.

Some fellas would say it is my living room. They stop by for a few things, chew the fat, have a coffee while browsing, stay long enough and get fed................
No wonder I don't make any money selling tackle

Grimsby Tackle is now under new ownership. We'll see what direction the store will go. New owner was quite pleasant. Had a mountain of fresh cooked sausage to sample.

Also, combinations of colours followed by the sufix "ish" are permissible.
eg. turqoise = greenish-blue
Men only see 8 colours. The 8 you find in the basic crayon box.Salmon is a fish not a colour.
"ish' is grounds for revoking the card.

Darn, I wish my little guy was that small again. Well 17 years later, my "little guy" out fishes me most days.
You mean, you're still letting your little guy outfish you. Gotta get the language right,
That wee fella is gonna bring you a lot of joy and heartache

Nice fish, but the top carp was at 33" back on the weekend for Team999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999

You are a very lucky "old" son Brian.

Yep. Us Canadians love paying more taxes and subsidizing U.S. oil corps

Certain breeds of dog just don't mix well with the keeping of poultry, rabbits and such. There is the option of better fencing and control, at what costs? There is a choice between animal husbandry and the dog.
Even a zapper won't always work on some dogs when after prey.

would be really surprised if you could sell live ones in a tank.
Call the MNR.
Special licences are required, but there are numerous fish markets with live tanks

I still have the Rapala knife my Gram bought for me in the old country over 40 years back. The blade is getting a bit thin and the sheath is dark with age and abuse but I love it.
Perch are brutal on a blade. Constantly need to resharpen.

You can get pike fillets at Sobey's from Manitoba.
Fresh, live fish are brought in from outside the province all the time. Some are farm raised, some are netted. Some are poached.
With tank loads of live fish it is not uncommon to have a tank of stripers with a few crappie and lm bass as bicatch from south of the border.

Post surgical recovery is pretty quick in normal circumstances. Might take a little longer due to the MS. I do hope all goes well.
