  10. Guys, was just going throught some of the fishing pictures from the past and came accross this one that just stood out from all of the ones I have and though I would share with you... It's my daughters first and biggest fish she ever caught by herself.... she was only 4 years old, using an ultra light spinning reel / rod combo on 6lbs test mono line and what a fight she got when this beast struck the hook & leech.... a moment that I cannot forget and real proud of her The story behind this was, we were at my sister's cottage on the dock and she ask me if she could try fishing with my ultra light rod and I said yes, grabbed it and rigged it with a hook and live leech.... showed her how to release the line from the spool and coached her when the fish would strike to set the hook.... but that did not last long... she would set the hook before the fish striked and could see that she was having fun All of a sudden she says to me "Pop... I want my line over there" pointing at the side of the dock, which was only 1' 1/2 fow of water and told her "but Melissa.... there's no water there" and she told me "doesn't matter.... that's where I want it" and being a good dad I casted the line over the side of the dock and got back to talking to my brohter in law.... A couple of minutes went by and something from the corner of my eye caught my attention, turned to look at her and that's when I reached to grab the rod because it was bend over in two and almost slipped out of her hands.... this bass was fighting hard, jumping all over, doing airials. Finally was able to lip it and that's when my wife snapped the pic of both of us with one of the biggest fish she ever caught... a nice small mouth bass Here it is This one was not released but was eaten by her and I..... a moment that I will not soon forget Leechman
  11. Like xeon said if you know how to do it or know someone that can, I would install your hard drive from your crashing computer into another PC and copy the data that you need off of it and then burn it to CD or DVD, then reload XP. XP is one stable O/S and still supported by Microsoft..... if you change to Vista, your existing applications may not be compatible and you will be required to purchase additional software licenses.... God knows how many extra software that we install on any PC just to accomplish certain task. Something to think about and good luck to ya Leechman
  12. Skidoo Paul
  13. Well, on that note, I think I'll have a deer pepperette or two
  14. Great gifts you got yourself Jim I'm sure that you'll put the GPS to good use in combination with the map card..... Bonus Happy New Years to you to Jacques
  15. That's a fine collection your have in your tackle box but have you ever tried Cotton Cordel's BigO..... Bass just go nuts on them and is one of my favorite lure to use on any lakes..... I've caught pike, walleye and bass (SMB & LMB) on a medium white color and chartreuse..... Also you may want to add the Hula Popper in black color for your surface artillery. Leechman
  16. Good luck to ya iceslayer
  17. Cool Simon, new town on ice... ever tried setting up near the shacks for fishing? Looks like a good area since a lot of the locals hang around there If you ever take up hunting and pass your gun course, I'm sure you will love it Must be a lot of deers and moose in your area
  18. On the far right, the lake is deeper and rocky bottom.... Me and Paul tried last Saturday afternoon but the rain was coming down so hard, we had to leave cause we were soaking wet I remember that machine that went throught the ice in the channel a couple of years ago..... directly in front of the channel about 150 yards is a good spot..... there is another drop off and is where Paul caught is very first muski, not the biggest but a lot of fun.
  19. Thanks Sean.... It sure did
  20. Joco, if you are going to Leamy I'd recommend that you go towards the beach and setup in the drop off, I'd say about 100' from shore.... that is where I caught all of the perch and it was none stop from the very beginning. There was about 8' to 15' feet of water and a nice weed bed... If not McBay is another good area.... Good luck to ya tomorrow
  21. I was planing on going Wednesday afternoon after work.... I'm off at noon
  22. Cliff, I know what you mean.... got my deer burger meat done in pepperettes in one of the local butcher shop and man are they ever good. Cost me $54.00 total. Gave them 5lbs of deer meat and they added the same amount of porc meat. Next year if I get another will definitely get pepperettes done with the deer burger meat.
  23. Thanks corvette Sure was a nice surprise Thanks Marco Got myself a new weapon this year... jigging rod How are you my friend? Haven't heard from you in a while... when are you going to join us on the bay?
  24. Glad to hear that everything is back to normal for ya Cliff
  25. Great report, pic and videos Simon That's real nice of the kind soul to plow the ice road for ya I noticed on the first video, on your way to your spot that you past a bunch of ice shacks.... Is this an Outfitter or just local guys that set those up? Got to love your Lowrance X67c.... great tool to have, shows you exactly where your jig is and also when a fish strikes in real time Cool that you caught one while doing the demonstration The ice must be thick by now in your area since you can drive on it.... Here, the snow is all gone from the top of the ice from all the rain we got..... now must wait until it freezes to be able to get back out there. I plan on going out Wednesday in the afternoon after work.... will just have to see That surf and turf looks real yummy but is missing an ingredient deer pepperettes Thanks for taking the time to put this report together and sharing it with us Jacques
