  1. Checked the weather this morning.. everywhere in the southern ontario got rain, EXCEPT Barrie..perfect time to hit up the Gbay tribs!! fished for several hours till the rain came and called it a day. Got to the pool with 4 guys telling me no action since 9am, off to a bad start already?! anyways.. 2nd drift on a roe bag and fish on! spunky little dropback tied on a new roe bag, first drift....fish on!! I only brought about 6 roe bags today since i was too lazy to tie more, so i just used the remaining from last time..and the water was too perfect to not use artificials.. bait of choice: white jig. there she goes... didn't get any hits on the white jig so i switched up to a purple bugger.. i had a few bumps but no takers, then all of a sudden the float shots down like a bullet...another spunky little guy majority of the fish caught today were in the 2-3lb range..no monsters..but im sure they are starving and will hit anything thats going down the river.
  2. LOL yeah its a kingpin.. they dont have a pouch for it yet!! if they did I'd use it.
  3. Knowing some rain will be coming tonight and tomorrow, I decided to head out this morning for a few hours. A friend of mine told me about this one spot which holds fish, so I gave it a try... I just love fishing alone along a 40-50 meter stretch with no one in sight. pairs of fish were swimming around deep pools and shallow runs, which was a good sign... only fish for the morning.. and the release.. didn't stay for too long since the sun was beaming right through the water in full force, i know the bite would be even tougher..
  4. if your looking for a kingpin, let me know
  5. Stern, PM me if you are willing to drive to Duffins creek for them...i'll let you know which part of the river i saw the ferns
  6. i was at duffins over the weekend and i saw an area FULL of them..it'll take you days to pick them all..

  12. a bass jumped right above my line, then about 5 seconds later a fish takes my senko....it could be a different fish...but i doubt it!
  13. you might catch a steelhead while fishing for suckers!
  14. i'll be writing my exam at 11am that morning!
  15. logically, the guys posts above are all correct.. but I've had 2-3lb fish taking quarter size bags on gin clear water.. the best was hooking a 12lb steel in chocolate milk with dime size bag (3-4 salmon roe). i think i was just lucky?!haha just have all varieties ready for the day. different size bags, different colour bags...you just don't know what they will hit that day!
  16. im thinking of throwing $150-200 for the entire outfit (rod, reel, lines). since i already have so many flies and assortment of leaders in differeint lb rating from pinning, i dont think that will be a problem?? so i assume a 5-6wt 9' rod would be a good start?? what about lines..i know theres double tapered, weight forward, shooting tapered...im guessing i should pick up floating lines?! what have i got myself into..hahah
  17. hey guys, I'm planning to start fly fishing after my exams are over. I think I will mostly be targetting small trouts, possibly some smallies and panfish, or whatever i can hook onto. I was told to pick up a 5wt 9'..any suggestions? i was also told the most important part of a fly fishing outfit is the fly line...rod and reel don't really matters?? any help/suggestions would be great guys..
  18. nice looking buggers and jigs. i should start tying my own soon haha
