  1. And whatever you decide, really fill up that spool to the brim. And use the lightest diameter line you can get away with for the fish you're going after, and watch your casting distance soar.
  2. Just by luck I noticed it was on FOX so I switched over right away. TSN programmers are DORKS! 4 hour race and with 3 laps to go you switch to curling. Please...
  3. And let us know how that goes.
  4. The picture is not Port Hope and doesn't even look like its in Canada. But hey, who cares about checking facts. Much easier to just blame Immigrants for stuff.
  5. Hey Pete, did you foul hook it or have it lip hooked. 'Cuz if you lip hooked it, you could have kept 'er! lol Ok, sorry. I'd be interested in hearing other people's opinions on this too. On thing though, I think it's just plain wrong to clean your catch and dump the carcass down the hole for the next customers to worry about whether if screws up the fishing or not. Don't dump down the hole!!!
  6. I'm old school and I think asking the price of something is, well, not very polite. If you ask and the person doesn't respond, he likely feels the same way. IMHO
  7. If you want to stick to the West side, there are several operators who primarily fish perch. Terry Goy out of Gilford is a good guy with a good operaton. He is set up for perch( and occassionally pike ). Then there is Lucky Sons out of Lefroy. He has huts in perch water and further out in trout/whitefish water. Google for contact info, etc. Goodluck and I hope you guys have a good time wherever you decide to go!
  8. Several years ago, I witnessed a fellow on Dover pier hook into the biggest white crappie I had ever seen caught. It was a plate sized monster of about 14-inches( estimated ). I still remember how amazed I was at the size of it and yet, it would be dwarfed by yours!!! Congratulations!
  9. Speak for yerself there, Bugugli!!! lol
  10. The only thing I think I would find offensive about that show would be that Ramsey guy.
  11. I knew the Rangers would take Dallas' sloppy seconds.
  12. Nice set up there Waterwolf! That's a great way to get even more enjoyment out of an outing on the lake. Wtg.
  13. Terrific stuff, Kemper. Must be very satisfying making your own jigs and catching fish with 'em. Keep it up!
  14. Of course you realize you'll have to show us pics of that fishing room when it's all done too, eh! Good luck, Nauti. A really cool collection of fishing stuff to be sure!
  15. Now that's the kind of crappie day everyone would like to have! Thanks for sharing your good day of fishing with us, Drew, right down to the fish fry!
  16. Think of her often and she'll never be gone. My condolences to you and your family, Lew.
  17. Personally, I've only used live minnows on a spreader set up. Lively minnow, I think, enduce more strikes. Plus, if you have your tip up set up reeeeal sensative, you can watch the minnow action transmitted on your tip up. It starts to bounce around slightly, especially when whities come nosing around and making the minnows nervous.
  18. Catchng a few fish in the afternoon and fresh fish for breakfast in the morning. Life's good!
  19. Nice looking bow your holdin' there Jack. Way to go. Conditions have kept plenty of us away from the rivers over his last month so go on ya getting your fix in yesterday while you could.
  20. Nice job, Boys! Good friends and some fish to boot! Gotta love Harry's style!
  21. Ok, I'll bite. What's a turducken?
  22. Hey, Goodluck with your efforts to conquer Bronte Blakewalk. I used to fish the mouth in the winter years ago but haven't given it a go for a while now since I started heading to the Niagara area for winter trout. Anyhoo, have you tried floating for 'em? There was a group of use that fished the inner harbour and we'd fix our floats so the spawn sacs ran just off the bottom( As I recall, it usually meant suspending the float about 10 or 11 feet up the line ). Light line and tiny, tiny hooks got us into a few bows. Goodluck!
  23. I had some fried Erie Smelt at Calahan's( in Port Dover )a few months back and forgot how absolutely tasty those little buggers are. Bon apetite Bigugly!
  24. For info on Puslinch, you could call Tall Tales Tackle in Cambridge. They usually have a up-to-date info on the lake.
  25. Plus, fishing for bass through the ice would just be kinda.. weird.
