  1. Exactly, 1 half season of good hockey doesn't mean you deserve 5.5 mil and a long term deal the next year. 1 more solid (full season) and get the extension you deserve. Even though I like Nazem, he has a lot of growing up to do in the maturity and work ethic department. Never chirp Bob Mackenzie!!!! Go Leafs Go
  2. Thoughts and Prayers to you and your Family Wayne. All the best going forward. Jen is an amazing young lady! Don McIlroy
  3. Heading up the the french this weekend for a little R&R... and some fishing!

  4. Another Great Report Mike. I think the Cabin is fine the way it is... adds to the whole experience. I love how rustic it looks. One day those kids will realize how special those trips are. Well Done!
  5. Yes make sure they are 6 or I wouldn't go any lighter then 8 gauge
  6. I did this this year with my trolling motor. It says you should use 6 gauge cable to make the extension. Cheapest way to go about this is to buy a set of jumper cables and cut the ends off (keep and eye on princess auto). Now depending on if you want it to be permanent or not will determine how you will make the connection to the existing trolling motor cables. I made a removable connection with nuts and bolts at my extension point. Make sure they are not touching obviously. Then clamp on O half O terminals on the end that is going to the battery. Fairly simple really. Good Luck
  7. Just awesome Bunk. Those pictures are just unreal!
  8. That is a monster.
  9. Exactly, I rarely go anywhere to purchase something without doing a little research on the item. I don't want to rely on someone else who could have no clue about it. Nothing but good things to say about CTC though. Never had an issue. I find when you take stuff back, the way you present your issue has a lot to do with whether the help you out or not. But maybe that's just me.
  10. Awesome report. Thanks for the great read.
  11. Right now its my Humminbird 571HD DI portable. She's a beaut
  12. Nothing wrong with eating a couple largies. Great report
  13. Yes I will be launching out of Round lake Center. I am staying at a nice little spot on the west side of the lake so the trek across will have to be on a nice day. I like the look of those bucktails.. I have some but not 1 oncers... I will be heading to sail this afternoon. I see the spot you are talking about with the 2 small islands, I will start there and see what happens. Hopefully I will come back with a successful report. Thanks again guys!
  14. Thanks for the responses guys. I am really banking on a calm day / evening to try this. Its a big lake and I am not in a very big boat. So any rough water will put an end to my experiment. It sounds like if you can find them, you've got a pretty good chance of hooking up. And yes I have seen the "video game" on the fish finder... looks very cool!! Bob Izumi does an entire show on this technique.
  15. Hey Folks, I am headed up to Round lake (near Pembroke) this weekend for a little R&R with the girlfriend and of course some fishing. I will be fine catching bass and pike but I wouldn't mind trying my hand at jigging some Lakers. So where do I start? Its a deep lake that has some really deep holes (180') and I just don't have a clue what to look for on picking a location. Deep drop offs, a certain depth, structure? I have a quality sonar unit with DSI along with Navionics so that should help some. Any help would be appreciated. Don
  16. Leafs supporter here... He's not worth much yet.... has had 1 good half season. I will get back to you on the worth after the upcoming season
  17. ALFIE rules out returning to Ottawa..
  18. You really like talking about the Leafs eh? Don't worry. Your secret infatuation is safe with me.
  19. 2 odd ones. A telephone line off the bottom of the lake. Was able to pull it up to the boat and unhook it. In Florida last December I was fishing for bass in a small pond I accidentally snagged about a 3 foot gator. Thankfully he got off after about 30 seconds. Not sure what would have happened if I would of got her in.
  20. Wow. Mike your reports are always epic. This one is no different. One day. One day Cheers Don
  21. Save a little up a bit more money and go new. I just went through this recently and ended up buying a new instead of used. Lots of factors to consider when buying. If you know these waters well enough then a gps combo might not be needed. Colour is nice but if you want more bang for your buck, black and white might be the way to go. For example I just bought the humminbird 571 HD DI portable for my little boat. I fish small bodies over water where getting lost isn't really and issue. Just wanted a good sonar to find fish... the down imaging was a bonus and looks like it will be an awesome tool on small back lakes. The NO TAX sale at sail also had something to do with the purchase. Price around $350. Also the navionics app could help you out in the gps department on those bigger bodies of water.
  22. Hahaha that's what I was thinking.
  23. Well considering the world record is 14lbs6oz. I see what your saying.
