I love floatfishing with a baitcaster. I have used the following reels daiwa steez, Calcutta DC and lately a shimano curadoE5. Most Important is using the correct rod. I can cast a 4 gram float father than my centerpin setup
I bought these ones from the Canadian site, studs were included and when I signed up I rec. a ten dollar discount. Cost me less than 90 to my door.

On the Cumulus rod I would even try the newer Chronarchs either the D5 or a D7.
The Curados are nice but the Chronarch are way smoother.
Also the Core 100 was a huge disappointment when I got it.
The Calais DC I got was also all hype I was happier when I sold it.
I have two reels now a Scorpion XT1000 and a Calcutta DC. On the lookout for more of these reels

I will give 5 dollars for each person who hits him with a 3/4 oz spoon when he trolling in his kayak close to the Credit rocks LOL
Some guys just do not have common sense

What BillM said.
They are much more fun at the piers. Gave up the rivers many a moons ago. The only time I will get into the river @ October, November. When the circus leaves town.

I would stick with the Avids. The premiers are are nice rod but the Avids are that much nicer. Specially with the IPC.
The Legend Tournament rod I had was the Teaser model sold that one within a month, it was such a tip heavy rod.
Another option

The lightest rod for the money. Was looking for several rods (GLX or St. Croix Extreme) for this season but the Carbonlites blew them away(IMO. Do a search on on Tackle Tour on these rods.

Hey Bernie
I have the BPS flyer and it was in there for $169 . Get another $30 or so for a reel trade in. Not bad for a
detuned Daiwa Certate.
A lot of talk on the Tackle Tour board
I there are any left I might grab one.

I picked up two of the Carbonlites several weeks ago. One 7 Ft casting and spinning model
I was in the market for another St. Croix Avid or a G. Loomis Mossyback. I figured for less than $95 , why not.
I was impressed and the lightest rod I held. Even though I am not a big fan of the split grips these felt really nice. Only one problem, I asked about the warranty and it was only a one year warranty on them.

I have had my fair share of several good reels before:
Calais 100
Calais 200
Calais 200DC
Daiwa Steez
Daiwa TDZ
Daiwa Fuego
Shimano Core100
I have sold them all and now I only have the Curados left.
For the price the curado cannot be beat. Great for throwing senkos, spinnerbaits and 3/4 oz cleos.
I will restock this coming season with Curados and Core 50's only.
