  1. I bought a Ambassadeur 4600C3 back when LeBaron was selling off the old stock. I haven't used it yet. The only experience I have with a baitcaster is with an old Daiwa Magforce which has the magnetic backlash control as well as manually adjusted spool tension. This Ambassadeur has the spool tension knob but I think it also has a centrifugal spool brake system? It doesn't explain how to set it up in the manual, just that it is there. Is there need to set it up? I will be using this on our trip to Lower Buckhorn and hope to catch my first ever muskie. I have a bunch of lures in the 1 to 1.5 oz range. I am going to pair the reel to my old Berkley Power Pole 6'6" one piece heavy action rod. Any suggestions or tips?? Burt:)
  2. I have both a Shimano Convergence and a Berkley Lightning Rod brand new with tags and plastic still on the cork. I think I bought them, two of each for $30 on sale. If you like you can take your choice of one for $35. That will cover what I paid with taxes. Shimano Convergence CVS-66M-2 6' 6" 6-12 pd line Medium power Fast action Berkley Lightning Rod LRS702M 7' 1/8-3/8 oz. lure 4-10 pd line I am in the Hamilton area (Dundas) but travel through the Burlington/Mississauga area regularly for work. Let me know if you are interested. Burt
  3. At least return the games. Not returning them and not paying the balance is stealing, isn't it??? You rented them according to the rental contract and you did not meet your obligations. No wonder its getting more expensive to do everything these days.... Burt
  4. From Blockbuster.ca: Movie and game rentals are due back at the date and time stated on the transaction receipt. There is no additional rental charge if a member keeps a rental item beyond the pre-paid rental period. However, if a member chooses to keep a rental item for more than a week after the end of the rental period, BLOCKBUSTER will automatically convert the rental to a sale on the eighth (8th) day after the end of the rental period. BLOCKBUSTER will post to the membership account and/or credit card the selling price for the item in effect at the time of the rental. If the member returns the item within 30 days of the sale date, BLOCKBUSTER will credit back to the membership account and/or credit card the amount previously charged. The member will be charged a one-time restocking fee of $1.75 per unit per transaction plus applicable taxes. These rental terms are subject to change without notice at any time. Available at all BLOCKBUSTER Canada stores. See store for complete terms and conditions. Membership rules apply for rental. BLOCKBUSTER name, design and related marks are trademarks of Blockbuster Inc. ©2006 Blockbuster Inc. All rights reserved. Just take back the two games and they should adjust your account. You should only owe $1.75X2..... It states within 30 days of the sales date, which is 8 days past the end of the rental period. So you can have the games for whatever the rental period plus 38 days and still owe only $3.50... Burt
  5. What kind of smoker do you have? I do mine on a Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker. I follow the BRITU (Best Ribs In The Universe) recipie more or less, with a few secret modifications... Burt
  6. It also depends on what type or brand of spinning reel you have. Daiwa with their "Twist Buster" system recommends you spool the line using a pencil through the bulk spool and reel it on that way. They say you should not lay the spool flat on the ground. Burt
  7. Between those two I would take the Stradic. But...... Have you looked at the Team Daiwa Advantage line? I have the TDA-2500 and it's an excellent reel. Same price range as the others you've mentioned. Its definetaly worth a look... Burt
  8. Just make sure you mount them the proper way, if you mount them backwards they will attract the deer to your car. LOL, just kidding, I have read a couple studies on these as well and they have supported the claim that they have no effect.... Burt
  9. Get ready for this list lol.... We have a 3 year old boxer named Burtess, here he is with his buddy: We also have a 13 year old cat named Stinky, and a 6 month old skinny pig named Mr. Whiskers: A senegal parrot named Peatree, his is around 6 years old: And around 300 gallons of Central and South American cichlids in 5 tanks. Here is our Midas named 'Orange' giving my youngest a kiss: I think that just about summarizes the "animal house"...... Burt
  10. You are correct DanC, Snopes does not lie! Check out the series of photos taken buy the Finnish photographer, wild.... Burt
  11. Yeah, I think this is a Photoshop creation as well.....
  12. I have heard some iffy things about their tech support and service as well. The good thing is at $200 if it does end up being a dud you're not out that much cash (not like $700, ouch!).... Burt
  13. There is a mistake in the flyer. It is not the Explorist 500 on they are selling, it is the Explorist 500LE. They are the same unit but the LE does not come with the AC adapter or the Lithium Ion battery. I comes with the 3 - AAA cartrige instead. I called CT headquarters and they said it was a mistake and that the stores were notified of this. Dutch - you said that you are using a lithium ion battery? Where did you get that? Mine didn't have that in the package.... Burt
  14. Didn't Carra Outdoors go out of business?? A while back there was a sign on the door saying it was closed (from a solicitor or something), looked like it went bankrupt. Or did it reopen??? Burt Edit: Number is no longer in service either....
