Why I have decided to put away the ice gear David and brought out the waders and long rod til open water gets here . Will float on my toon when the time comes for some yellas bellies and whities,when the season opens again.

Sounds like Ford is going to pull the trigger . All non essential will be shut down . Was not hard to tell many heard this as the beer store and liquor store were lined up outside . Panic syndrome set in fast. LOL
Watched a good video at break time today . I know now how to put those top wings on . Stopped by Cabelas after work but they were lined up outside. 10 people at a time . All it takes is 10 people walking around for 1/2 hour and wait to go in. PASS.
I knew mine were ugly. Nice ties . When I slow down,I can do better work, I just screwed around with what I had . Some of the ones I watched on you tube were crazy long to tie. I am not that dedicated yet, but when life slows down, I am sure I will .
For the life of me though, I can not get that dub to go tight on the thread . Thats why I prefer CDC feathers . Will even bulk up with peacock heral .
That side of the lake this year made ice way better then this side. There was reports guys still out on ATV,s chasing the yella bellies. 18-14 inches of ice .
No the hocks are hocks still, but you sir, have given me a whole new idea with them .LOL
When I am going to smoke bacon or hocks or any pork these days, I head down to Mississauga to Starskys . They have the finest meats,cheese from around the world almost, and their smoke fish is good as well. Well not as good as mine. Plus catch and smoke is cheaper . LOL

Lets eat
First we got to get the pork hocks done . After my first try, I knew I had something that I would be doing again. 4 nice chunky pieces that sat in the bath of brown sugar, kosher salt,bay leafs,pepper corns and gloves for 3 days.
When they were finally in the smoker,I had a craving for some cabbage rolls. Seasoned to taste the meat, wrap in savoy cabbage leaves. Savoy is much taster and sweeter then regular ole cabbage and softer melt in your mouth. 2 meat balls for the added side . Poured over bath of diced tomatoes and tomato juice .Still half a cabbage left to chop into soup with one of the hocks this week.
I was worried, so I picked up a limited amount . Running out already. LOL
I agree, and also now we are getting into allergy seasons . I have already felt it when we get those warmer days . Never had them before, but now I know how it feels . Like crap some days .
Be aware of your surroundings and have wipes for your hands . I have been shopping for groceries the past 2 days and 2 trips to Cabelas . I keep vigilant . Everything gets a wipe with my towel here that is accompanied by a large spray bottle of MR.Clean. Well not the food, but can goods fore sure, then rinsed off with water and dried with paper towel .
