We could,nt find them in a bushel basket. Bought two quarts at the local market. Made 9 small jars. Buying this way,it,s over costly. Funny,we traveled a bit this morning to local farm venues. No one is really growing them in bunches. Canning the beets is great,but the tops are the real treat in my opinion.There were no tops today.

I,m the same. when I fish with friends, that is the time for chatting,goofyness. I like to fish the river,and have silence while doing so. It,s the time I need to clear my head. If I see a buddy or two, on my walks,I will stop,have a quick chat,and carry on down/up the river. I wont crowd them.Many times they say take a drift,but I decline,and keep walking. I will tell you what burns my . When you have a fish on and the four guys that walk past, decide to fish just yards down from you. Yes, all have pin reels and know long drifts can be made,but still proceed to fish the area. This happen to me last year. As I walked back from the river edge to retie,one of them asked if I was leaving. LOL

Well we found them today. Jars of Ruby cubes, are jarred.. Cant wait, to dig into them when their done.

We just boil and peel. No problem. I even like to eat them as were canning.All natural. The tops are another great table fair.But when your buying bulk,we don,t get them. Swiss chard, is the next best thing.
