  1. Past weeks catch was on the smoker while I was away playing. I did a true 24 hr brine,24 hr stand this time ., Lightly rinsed the fish this time and well, turned out to be probly my best so far. Has a bit of jerky, dry and moist.
  2. Since I was so impressed with the night vision,I bought a pair of the polarized sunglasses at online auction for $10. Wore them this morning as the sun was shining off the water and the drive home. I am sold. 2 great pairs of glasses I am happy with. Also these came with a quality hard case. Bonus again.
  3. Not to be rude, but I do not see the reason for a longer pull cord. Most engines I have had, you could do a short pull and they would fire up . Also,it looks like you are almost maxed out anyways.
  4. So made a small fire pit to keep my java warm. LOL Thought it was going to be a hot bite after getting one on the 2nd drift on hot pink bag BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NOPE 1 - 2 . LOL
  5. Sounds like a solid plan to me.
  6. Well this is a plate and sticker story from this morning. Heading to get a timmies at 6 am. Stopped at a traffic light. Both myself and the car beside me leave on the green. Both side by side, but I need to get to the right lane,so give a bit of gas to the pedal. Get by,and pull to the the right. Car behind slows down. Noticed the head lights in the left lane looked like a Dodge. Cop ? Well that car pulls behind me,on goes the blue and red. I knew I was up to 60 km in a 50, but really ? So get my lic and ins ready. He walks up,I say man,I was just up to 60. He said that is not why I pulled ya over . I said,my sticker is not up to date . Nope, that is not the reason. I couldn't read your back plate. Seems my back plate is peeling off. Had no idea. He checks me out on the radio I guess. Comes back and says ok, yer a good boy. Just get that plate taken care of when you can. Give a fist pump, say stay safe, and have a good day. Guess I best get my new plates and a sticker. LOL
  7. I am lucky to have 5 trips with in 1 -1.3 hours of me John. Thanks
  8. Let me know when Bill. I may hit near your pops this weekend.😉
  9. 14 grm. Thats skien for drifting during the dark hours under a lit float. Lots of scent.😉 I change up my rig once day light starts to appear.
  10. Nice catches and yes, those spinners are great for all types of fish. If there were salmon around, they would smash that one.
  11. Yes .It is a cool water acorn slip float. Bobber stop to set depths. I use small walleye harness beads so the weight and bobber do not smash together. Also helps so the rubber bobber stop does not get stuck in the top of the float. I would sooner see snow then rain.
  12. Ya all know I love to get set up early in the morning ,drink some java and listen to the woods come alive. Did my best to keep the back ground to a min. Will start with my backing line thread I posted a while back . My combo of chartreuse and neon blue, and first try at sunline. Backing sure helps build bulk quick and not using up mono. After putting on 150 yards of backing slowly and keeping it level ,I added 300 yards of the sunline main. When I was done spooling, the pin was loaded just perfect. This sunline is so smooth. First time user of this line .With this pin having a very narrow throat, Wallis casting, is the preferred. I like this,as it makes me get away from the side cast and dealing with nesting. Ya swivels help, but eventually, nesting happens . I have come very comfortable with it now, and the float just fly's out there . Fresh runs are the best . The fish are super spunky . I had a few that did some real nice aerial flips, hell, had one almost jump on shore at the other side of the river. These fish have no give up in them. Great fights. I,ll just leave you with pics from the past 3 days. Rains coming, and reports of maybe some snow , so I think it will be a few days till my next outing. My float set up using that hollow pencil lead . Sure saves on loading up shot. I like to bulk shot,as I fish deeper pools and have a 4 ft lead of floro with just the hook . Allow the bait to flow naturally IMO. It works for me . My new Rain Shadow Kombat custom rod my son gave me, is one sweet stick.
  13. No picks?
  14. My gawd Albert, yer a GEEK.
  15. I have the same suit brand as Terry ( one down from it ), really like the light weight of it, but what I do not like about the bib is there are access pockets to your inside pants. When I went in at the shore,I had water come in. Not a lot, just enough to look like I pissed myself. If I can afford it this fall,I will be buying the striker suit. Thats if I can find one. Even their web site has a lot of sold out. And yes, PICKS.
  16. When you fish after 10 am Wayne, there are no buddy riders. LOL
  17. I do not think he eats fast food Albert,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  18. My Indian friend fried a mess up in the spring. Despite the boney part, they were very tasty. Then again,it might of been the beer that helped wash it down
  19. HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Well done
  20. HMMMMMM You missed me . LOL Very nice of you Pump. I shared a bunch of my wooley ties this fall with a bunch of guys so far. Even a new fly fisher got some of my single egg flys . Karma comes to those that believe .👍 I have a few of those and yes, plastic. . The long lip ones work great for hot shot. Any fire tiger pattern seems to work up here. Even the bagleys.
  21. Look at all that room for more sh, cr, I mean stuff. LOL Nice ride bud.
  22. Hey now,,,,,,,,😆
  23. Hmmm, sounds the same as it was in early 80.s. Sickning.
  24. Order more to make the shipping worth it. Also, so much tackle is unavailable at stores . I just put an order in to them, as there is no stock anywhere up here . My shipping was $15 for 8 items. If you are closer then I, you can pick up and save ship cost.
