A jig, that will descend slowly and retrieve . This one when asked by a member, had me puzzled at first,but in time,I was thinking of what his intentions were. I wanted to be sure this was just not a round ball jig. Wanted something that would look nice and realistic. Going through the isles at Cabelas,I found the perfect jig. Turns out they had both colors that was asked for. Shiner and perch. So not rushing into it,I looked at it in the vise and tried to visualize something. This was going to be a bit crude for the first one, plus I do not have heavy tying thread, Knowing that fly foam is very buoyant,I grabbed what I had,cut in 2, 1" strips. Wrapped the first one, 2X, just behind the head,the next behind it. It was crude,but will give me enough knowledge is it will work. Added Faux synthetic buck tail. I can not just drop In a pail of water,as I want to see the action on a line, so waiting for some open water here to give it a trial. I needed something else to give me a break from all these I like the looks,just need to see if it will work as he wants.

I used that stuff ONCE Drew. Never AGAIN. What a head ache I got. I use Sally Hansen hard as nails if I want that hard finish. Lots of my stuff now is UV res, but I keep the light away from my face when curing .

We all know those days when we say to self,I need this,that and ya,more if this. Well today was the day I finally figured out,I really do not need more,well I do,but will have to get another station to store it. When I started fly tying I had a small box given to me by Fisherman, a plain vice and some supplies. Just wanted to have something to do on those non fishing days .Once I realized there was so much to tie, well, I need to buy more of this,more of that and ya,some more of everything. About a week ago,I was told I had to get my mess cleaned up. Was not sure what she meant,as I knew where everything was lying around. HA HA HA. Well she was right,I had stuffed stashed here and there,bags of stuff here,box or 2,3,4 over there. Ok I get it now, so I picked up a new storage cart to go with what I already had bought to store my stuff. I started off with a small 3 drawer thing,then bought the multy drawer thing. Figured that was good enough,but now my new station with the addition of the 12 drawer seems to have gotten 3/4 of my stuff out of bags,boxes and off the floor.I have I have more stuff then I thought,but I need it ALL. 😂 When she gets home,I am sure she will be pleased,but shhhhhhhhhhh, she can not know I just bought a bunch more supplies today, that I need,want.

Well, I am not going to push my KARMA anymore. Really,how many pins does one guy need???????????????? REALLY Got my mail today. Also received my order again from TOGENS. Tomorrow is the last for lakers and whities on Simcoe. Yes can probly get another weeks worth of perching in ( maybe take a day or 2 ) But I got bugs to get tied up. 12 dozen of each so far,and with receiving my new order in,I have another 6 dozen to get done.

Looks like the next few days will be primo for walking about. Last day tomorrow for lakers and whities on the Lady. Going to be so nice when the season opens again during soft water. I can cruise around with the electric on the float boat.

I zip through the ice with my electric set up in seconds and my battery's last all day,so no need for that thing, and yes , there are so many myths out there about using a transducer through the ice. Even one with using windshield washer in a bag with the ducer. My finbor 3 6" ,is 10 years old,(right Terry) and cuts like a hot knife through butta. I look for possible spots and only drill on them. I just dont drill anywhere and here. Back at it in the morning byes. Perch were mighty tasty, and well,I would love another nice fresh feed. Might do a breaky dinner of fried eggs and fish and some smokey bacon. Dang,got me drooling already.

No lose.but I did find the first few inches were getting soft. 20" today. north end, there was almost 28-30.

I keep walking like I have been and breaking down pounds,I might see a 4 pack. LOL

The past 2 days I have probly walked 5-7 miles drilling here and there. Yesterday was a bust,just one whitie on and unbutton half way up.It sure was a great day to just walk and fish though. No hub,heater,just the finder,auger and sleigh. This morning was the same,another great day to just go and explore. Every hole I drilled there were perch. Anywhere from 29 fow up to 16 fow. I probly hooked well over the 100 mark in 5 hours. This morning before I left,I did a quick tie of a couple of shrimp scuds. Turned out to be the right move. 98% of the perch took the high hook tandem above a Meegs bait. Even got 2 on the Meegs. Really like the pin set up combo. The tip on this rod is so sensitive. You can even pick up a bite when the perch take the fly up. I could of easy kept a 50 limit,but I do not freeze fish and I hate cleaning these buggers. LOL Going to be fresh fried taco,s tonight.
