  1. Funny you say that Wayne - we joked about it as we passed it from car to car through the windows! I made sure the coast was clear first thou!!! Your quite welcome Joe - glad I could help out Don
  2. Ok - I'll be in a white Toyota Rav 4 Don
  3. Keep your $$$ - just replace it when you get a chance. 1 box or 2? Don
  4. Hey Joefish - got a couple of boxes of the beer batter mix if it will help you out. I am in St. Catharines and could meet you at the CTC at the bottom of the hill if you want. I'll be heading out in a few anyways. Don
  5. Nice set up Randy. Seen somewhere ( I am thinking Princess Auto ) a bar that has 2 hook ups for your trailer hitch. Top one is for accessories and the bottom one is for your boat trailer. I think it is designed for a bike rack - but don't see why it won't work for the bbq. Don
  6. Wouldn't that look great with my 12 foot tinny tagging along behind it! LOL Don
  7. Well said Terry - and pretty much how I feel Don
  8. Thanks Dax - Really enjoyed that! Don
  9. Was supposed to go up to the hut today - but at 5 am this morning I chickened out! After checking on the weather stations and then the hiway webcams - I chose not to drive from Niagara to Innisfil towing a sled! Good luck to any who venture out but please be carefull. Don
  10. I have a 50 HP 4 stroke on my 16 &1/2 foot Tracker - trolls right down - no problems. I have a kicker motor ( 8 HP ) for it but didn't even bother to install it. The 50 is cleaner, and way quieter and NO OIL TO MIX WITH GAS and I can honestly say that it gets incredible gas milage while trolling! - Go with the 50 4-stroke - you'll be glad you did! Don
  11. Send 'er back up to the top boys!
  12. Ok - thanks Wayne. Crappie - sorry about that - and good luck on sunday - drop by the hut if you need a hot coffee Don
  13. Ok ty - I'll stick with the 1/8 inch stuff. It will probably outlast the sleigh anyways! How do you fasten it on ( wooden skis ) - i have never worked with this material before. Don
  14. Thanks Wayne - guess I can cancel the 1/4 inch stuff and save a few bucks!!! Don
  15. I haven't ventured out that far yet, Wayne but we are thinking about maybe checking out the area a little deeper. Hey Wayne - how did the UHMW board work out on your cutter sleigh - I contacted the company in Vineland that you posted the link to, and he's going to cut to fit the pieces that I need. What thickness do you reccomend? Don
  16. Sorry - forgot to add - medium size minnows are fine . Don
  17. Ice was great on sunday - had to be at least 12 - 14 inches - saw a few full size trucks go by the hut - not for me thou - i'll stick with the atv or sled. I believe that lake trout and whities both close on Mar 15 - but it could be Mar 31 - please check the regs. I stop on the 15th - as thats when the huts have to be off the ice - then I bring out the portable and fish for perch. Good luck if you venture out and post how you did. ( don't forget the camera! ) Don
  18. Go straight to the very end of Innisfil Beach Road. When you can't go any further, hang a left into the park. Follow the road around to the boat launch and find a parking spot. parking is free. As far as how far a walk - your guess is as good as anyones!. I have my hut (big blue one with black roof) straight out from the boat launch. We are in 80 fow at that point - dosen't get much deeper there. So far we managed to pick up one 4 lb whitey and thats it! ( this past sunday ). I can't believe that we are catching perch in 80 fow - whats with that! I will be out there on saturday and staying over till sunday - so if your by - drop in and say hi! Don
  19. That is one awsome video - you are muti-talented! Don
  20. I'll be there, but I regretably won't make it for the derby - I am helping my fishing partner move his hut from Gilford up to Innissfil. My hut is the big blue one ( black roof ) straight out from the boat launch, anyone needing to get out of the wind and warm up - doors unlocked. I should be up there around noon. This is a picture of the hut: Please go in and warm up. Don It is off to the left in 80 fow
  21. Thanks guys - tomorrow will be its maiden voyage - so we'll see how well it works out. Got the sleeper hut finally out today so we'll be camping out sunday and monday - hopefully will have some fish to report! Don
  22. After fighting to get everything out to the ice hut, I decided what I really needed was a sleigh to tow behind the Atv/snowmobile. This will enable me to get everything for a weekend campout in one trip. Not sure what I was doing, and after some pointers from Wayne ( Irishfield ) ( thanks btw. ) I came up with this idea. It is still not 100% completed - I want to add some fish decals and also a rack for on top to carry my Guide portable, but it is atleast usable. Here it is: Thanks for all the ideas guys! Don
  23. Empties - and its STILL a good trade!!!
