LOL @ Kemper. It's true as I took a walk along the area I fish after opener and there was 8 or so just in this one section. At least I can say I had seen a fish yesterday...
-
Yes. I use a 7' rod with a spinning reel.
-
walked about 5KM today of that lower area and not 1 fish sighted and the water was so clear you would know if a fish farted...
-
LOL, my sister lives there...

This is now on my cell phone as well as the local CO's contact info. To contact the ministry, call our toll-free line at 1-800-667-1940 (TTY for Hearing Impaired - 1-866-686-6072) between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The CO's are your first call, then the local coppers. either way, make A Call...

Thank you all for the replies! The only reason I'm looking at a new rod & reel for her is so that her mommy can fish when the kids have gone to bed AND that her older cousins have the "big kid rods" so she want's one. Maureen; thanks, I'll let her beat up on my ultralite combo next time we are at the cottage to see if she can use it. Beans; we have that very set up ready to go at a moments notice at the cottage off the dock but thank's for the reminder. Rizzo; just cause you are in the Barrie area doesn't mean you have to make the boys fish with a pink rod... Just kidding! Cliff; you and Carol have a super JR angler on your hands so I guess a spinncast is the best way to go for a 5-year old. Garry2r's; I read all your posts and take everyone to heart. When I go out with my daughter I take her out where ever she want's to fish on the lake, even if I know it's not holding fish but that's the place she wanted to go. We have all the kid friendly things in the boat like books and things to colour, eat and drink. We just don't have a killer panfish section on our lake that we know about so this we just tool about... All I bring is my 1 rod with a senko and all her stuff in hopes we catch her a fish or two...

Thank you all! I was leaning towards getting her the Ladyfish combo or the Ugly stick ladies spinning combo. Looks more like the Ladyfish combo so her mother can use it too when the kids have gone to bed... considering Gagnons is having a sale next week we can pop in and check it out. Sinker, do you think Gagnons would let her try and cast a spinning combo with a plug on it to see if she can do it? I wish I had my ultralite at home so I could let her try with that in the backyard before I go out and get her something... D'OH

Ha all. So I asked my 5-year old daughter just now if she would like a new fishing rod this year. Her answer, "yes I want one that catches the big fish, you know the one" then she said the "rocket one". So, has anyone ever purchased and used those fogo one's? Is it worth the money or does it break easy? She has a Barbie spincast combo now and I was thinking of just getting her a larger version of it but also wondered how many of you have your kids using spinning gear by the age of 5? Thanks in advance for the feedback. G

I could but where would the fun be for me in that? There will be no GBW fishing show as I cannot afford to do one. But if I ever did it would be like the now gone Urban Outdoor Adventures...

HAHAHA, well herer you go then... just kidding, she'll kill me.... -
Thanks Curt. If there are enough votes, how would I take this to WFN? I'm not looking for a show but proof people want what people want, not what we are "fed"
-
if I had a show, YOU BET! But it does make me cring at the thought of just how many hooks I would end up with in me and lost itmes. But hey, sure is worth a try if someone is willing to back me!

HAHAHAHA, she's MUCH better! check out my new Poll on this too... hahahahah -
Ok, not to bash Charlie Moore but that other thread got me thinking. So... I have only been fishing (again as I took many years off) for a few years and only went after bass but looking to expand on that. My thoughts are, would you rather watch someone one like me go throught the learning process of how to fish and the same process of what to fish for OR a show like Charlie Moore? If for some reason people want to see me then I'm going to need some help from the good folks that make these shows now. I'm not asking so I have a glimmer of hope at a show but because we all say "I can make a better show then that!" regarding any show. I am very intersted to see this poll too... Cheers! Geoff

BINGO! We have a winner... Mike D does a great job with what he is trying to do. Be the traveling "I don't know xxxx" angler asking for tip on some small local lakes and makeing a show of it. Charile Moore on the other hand is being Charlie Moore and his old show (a rip off of the Scott Martin Challange) was better then the new garbage they show now. Can I borrow a few folks that work in the fishing show industry this summer to produce a GBW Outdoor show to see if it's better then the C.M. show? HEHE That would be fun... -

Question for those who use WADERS... Finally tested for leaks.
GBW replied to rbaquial's topic in General Discussion
neoprene is like a wetsuit, in fact one on the same so it all depends on what type you buy for the loose fit or show your junk fit. the set I have are loose as I do not wear them in the rivers here as there is so much mud (felt bottoms too) to slip on and there is no way I'm in the rivers for a long time when it's that cold! What do you want to use them for, think of seasons and locations before you decide on the "new" ones you are going to get. Cheers. G -
I missed it if it was there.. so D'OH or D'OH!

Rob, I got ones like this last year (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98059_175009001_175000000_175009000_175-9-1) for a sale price and the reg. price was $280UDS. Watch out on the felt vs rubber bottom too! Felt is nasty in mud but great in slimy rocks so look at where you fish 95% of the time before you buy. Read as much as you can before you buy. After all, my 1st set are only for me to install the dock in the spring and take it out in the fall otherwise they are as good as XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX....... G. -
I got the 2nd 1/2 tonight of the show (just enought ice time to know what show it was) and want to say from what I did see it was a good show. Cheers.

Rob, if you want to go through all the work to make the changes then yes you MAY be ok but is it worth it? Not to P-U off but I got a set of $280 waders at BPS for $79 NEW and nothing wrong with them other then a new line coming out. So it's you call on what you SHOULD do with those VS how to fix or replace those. Just my 2 cents. G -
I have one of each and Dirk, GRILS are no where near as crazy as boys so don't let that thought get in your head! my 5-year old daughter loves to play "fishy-fishy" when we can so when your little angle gets older I'm sure she will want to do the same to spend time with daddy. ENJOY IT!!!!! I sure do!!!!!

welcome back, check with board member HeadHunter and a company called ATS (not the trucking one). You'll be in the Markham area right?
