  1. nice fish! good on ya for CPR and to the others that know and fish that spot for doing the same, CPR that is...
  2. texas rig for sure. BUT you can get a weedless gap hook as well for a wacky rig if you want. found here, like this. edit, found link to hook
  3. I like this post and would like to add to the Q side (not meaning to hijack your post). As the long weekend is coming, will the weather temp's play a roll on the depth at dusk/night? I have found that on my lake I can cast from the dock and get strikes about 30' out in 8' of water (shallow lake where I am). I have also found that the storm wild-eye baits work well. Should I change up and go to my "bass rig" at night to produce more walleye?
  4. my condolences and heartfelt sympathies. Geoff
  5. Mike, I am sure you have seen the pic's of my "big" soft case and the 20+ LBs of gear in it. But I also have a small case that I use as well for the days I'm only going after panfish or something else and not everything that swims. Keep the gear you have and expand on the stuff you use, like and know how to use with other colours and size. Does anyone need 20 or more rapala's? Sure if you know they produce in diff. size and colours. My new go to bait is the shaky head jig with a stick bait, do I throw others when that's not working? You bet! I will toss whatever was working last time and when that slows down or doesn't work, I break out the baits I never use...
  6. try the bay I posted the GPS for, in that whole area... I had one blow up on a top water at dusk and one bit off a jig while fishing for bass mid day.
  7. work has gotten in the way for me... that and my "honey do list"...
  8. Dave's a stalker! HAHAHAHA! just kidding!
  9. nice fish for sure!
  10. sounds to me like thay are talking about the "local" big boats not the agerage Joe...
  11. if I had no others for food, then bonk it, clean it and cook it. IF I had others in the 16" to 17.5" range then off it would go. But food is food and it is within my right to keep the ONE. I had one a few weeks ago that was on the 5LB range and I kept it, cooked it and it was great. I tried to catch others smaller so I could set it free but no such luck and my family wanted to try it (I would have eaten it all if they didn't) so in the pan it went. Do I regret it, NO. The MNR had the ntes in the lake 3 times this year on my lake so I don't think I did any damage, did they?
  12. I was thinking of chuck the big 2, 3 or 4 prong anchor in it to "slow it down" for him...
  13. Oh here we go! Hosts: Dave Mercer, Pete Maina and MARIKO IZUMI! Location: Some place close to the GTA (2 to 3 hours from Whitby?) Target: Ummm, Mariko (J/K my wife would kill me) LM/SM bass, pike and musky.

  15. "Stroll" an X-rap (twitch-pause-twitch-twitch and so forth) while looking for the area you want to chuck a bait to will hit a lot of fish too...
  16. I was in the bay where this resort is. "OUR COORDINATES ARE : 45º00.161N and 78º33.738W" Good luck.
  17. Just in case I cannot get the 2 MP3 players to Ryan in time, this is what they are. YP-S2QB/XAC Ryan and I are going to figure out how the winners will get these BUT you will get it. Cheers.
  18. at least you got one, good going.
  19. now ya got me thinking (not good at this time of the night either ) would you be able to line the wall at the base with some form of heat barrier/protection and use a gas heat source to get to the hotter temps needed for some foods? As long as you have a minor air flow it should be ok, right? If so, you could use something like this inside? http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/5/Sp...tha%2BStove.jsp
  20. First off, WOW! NICE WORK!!! Yes, 4 beers long also makes a nice toy box... great call on the outhouse look for that exact reason, LMAO!!! I would love to see how this works out with the heat situation as I would love to build one too. my "Mr. Meat Smoker" is not doing so well considering I'm the 4th or 5th person to have it...
