Nice ......Marc Everyone bow to Marc now With all the opinions stated here it's pretty obvious that the majority feel that there is an issue with boating ettiquet and safety, I chimed in after spending a full week on an island on the big Rideau. Day after day I witnessed unsafe boating practices and thoughtless acts of driving. And weekdays were not the issue as mostly locals and cottagers were out, however the weekend was a different story, and you can't tell me that you haven't experienced the weekend freeway insanity on the Ottawa River Marc. When you see a Father and his two young sons in a 12' boat out fishing get rocked by a 40' cruiser you have to stop and think what the heck. I'm not for more fees and restrictions, but if that's what will make the waterways safer then it has to be considered.

A little sensitive are we??? Def. not king of the water...but a concerned angler who practices what he preaches.

If you don't know the Ottawa river and have no gps/sonar...you better be nervous....or you won't be boating for long. If you have a $50,000 plus boat and go zooming around , there is a word for that....I think it's IDIOT. Trimming your boat properly so you make less wake saves gas is less damaging on the shoreline and is proper ettiquet as far as I'm concerned. Personally I'd like to see an idiot or 2 take out their bottom end zipping through the weeds, then I could laugh all the way as I tow their wrecked boat back to shore where it belongs. And as far as more money ...if it's too expensive then maybe the weekend warriors will not be able to afford it and will take their rightful spot on a golf course instead of the water.

Thanks everyone ...it was and still is pretty exciting . I have two more pics to add to the wall, and with the 50" , well I might just have to move a couple to make way for the PB. Funny thing is , I'm dyin to get back out , almost like the addiction has doubled,,,,,,my poor wife

The advantage feels better in my hands, both cast awesome but the accurist seems to have a minimal advantage in drag, for me. I can't really pick one over the other. I switch frequently between the 2 while fishing with equal preformance in the 2.

I have the Accurist, excellent reel. I also have a diawa advantage, also a very good reel , nothing bad to say about either.

Make sure the tubes are not inserted too far into the ports at the connection at the controls , if they are you will not get the flow of gas cause you will choke the flow.....this sound like what you are having

I agree with the rest....I was bit off running a topwater directly tied with 30lb PP by a nice pike....it was so quick I was stunned. Fluoro is best, even if your leader is only 8", it will work.

Hit some of the fav. spots .....only saw one fish(better than none). Worked hard for it but managed to pull it off a weedbed. 43 x 18.5" Took a while to revive it but she swam off strong Conditions were awesome, i was surprised we did't see more Matt
