I love the Marcum's. Being able to zoom in on anywhere in the water column is a huge plus, and the resolution is great. I went with the Vex Fl-18 last season, mainly because of the tri-beam transducer since I fish so many depths. I love it, but I'm also a huge fan of the LX-7

I've never been, but I'd imagine Rosseau or lake Muskoka would fit your needs pretty well?

Low to mid 40's I would say. That was indeed an excellent net job!
-
I would support it in areas where it most needed, yes.

There's plenty of good articles available online written by people more qualified on the topic than me.

Rainbows can and will be ANYWHERE in the water column. Don't be afraid to go to super tiny for the bows, and just treat splake like specks in the winter.

Very nice. Are those superior or Nipigon brookies?

Finally got to witness this act live...Mindblowing, and earblowing.

Oiii vey...4 hours?? Should have just called them and started casting

I use a small fly reel for panfish and through the ice. Centerpin would be super fun for bigger fish

Had a mini-splake bonanza last week in the canoe. With low pressure and a stiff breeze I was hoping for an active spinner bite, and I definitely got it. Fishing a long narrow finger bay off a good sized trout lake, we were able to intercept 10 nice splake. Fish were easily patternable, with all but one fish coming off of large boudlers close to 10+ feet of water. A couple points held multiple fish. The 6 we took home were all between 10 and 16 inches, and had one fly out of my undersized brookie net that I would've pegged at 20+ inches. I know this lake holds much bigger splake, as most of these fish were more than likely spring stockers from this year, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips for pattering for some bigger fish?
Multiple fish came off of that one boulder...
Tasty little buggers on my makeshift stringer...
Ready for action...fish were full of small panfish...

Fantastic. What a dark fish.

Fished the lake a few weeks ago. The Lodge is all of about 200 feet off the highway. There tons of nice structure on the lake, but I'd take the time to explore other lakes in the area, personally.
I haven't stayed at the lodge btw. They like to claim it's a private lake...

That's a helluva fall report...sweet splake. How'd they taste?
-
Is that a lighter leash on your waders? Such a good idea

Summer levels were fairly average, and most lakes are now at or over their high water mark (central/northeastern ontario).
The lakes seem to be in great shape for the freeze-up

Does Southern Ontario ever get rain anymore???
Nice fish dudes.

Amazing...can't wait to get legal for next year.
Also, I have that same floater suit and I'd hate to be trudging through the forest for very long in one of them.

If I had to fight a muskie for two hours, I'd sure hope it was some kind of record! What a giant
