well folks this topic has been around for ever!!!!everybody knows you have to shop around, smaller baitshops don't have the buying power big ones do, there for they don't get a very big discount on there orders,we all know every place has a certain mark up and when small places add there mark up it seems high compared to a place like Bass Pro(which i find has no big deal on prices anyway) Bass Pro how many stores????ya alot, local bait shop....1 store hence not much buying power. just my 2 1/2 cents Hawg Hunter

You sure don't have to drill any holes to drain water, yesterday morn there were holes out there the size of my truck tires, and not drilled holes either, just cracks that water sinks through and gets bigger and bigger.(was out taking all rental huts off) drilling drain holes does work, ive done it myself, but not needed out there right now, theres enough there as it is . rain is a very big concern for icefishermen as you all know the ice forms ontop of the water(lol)when the rain runs down the holes its building pressure under the ice trying to push the ice upwards because of a rise in water level, thus its gotta bust somewhere, thus more pressure cracks.other pressure cracks are formed by the ice expanding once its all across the lake it pushes outwards shore to shore and has to burst somewhere in between thus your pressure cracks appear there is 2 other reasons for the pressure cracks but ive yaped enough just my 2 cents backed with over 25 years of guideing ice fishing out there 7 days a week morn and afternoon(when theres ice lol) not trying to be a know it all folks just trying to tell folks what ive learned out there and been taught by my grandfather who also was a hunting and fishing guide out there for 53 years. take care stay at home and stay safe the fishing only gonna get better HAWG HUNTER

Hello all look i just wanted to let all you fellow walleye fisherpeople now that a ice breaker is coming through the bay of quinte again he will be coming from deseronto up to big bay(point anne),through the massasaga point area and up to belleville to myers peir now with the snow we just got you may not see his path so please if you do venture out don't go untill its light so you can see. and most popular spots are not safe yet anyway so sharpen your hooks and wait for safe ice some locals are fishing but we now where the thicker ice will be. 09:12 pm Edit Quote Reply yep you guessed it i was out on quinte again tonight, picked my best bud up and headed to our back yard, started walking out and after 500 yrds i looked to the right and low and behold a huge wolf(now before i go any any more i must tell you my bud has a metal ball in his hip with 3 pins and after many operations his one leg is 3" shorter than the other)ok that darn wolf stopped when we stopped and walked when we walked,so i turned to my best friend and said ...hes eyeing you up cause you know a wolf will take a cripple first(no offence people just a joke among 25 year old friends)and his reply was .............,i then told him im not worried cause all i have to do is out run you ok ok im bad.anyway after arriving at my old holes from last night,we cleaned them out and started fishing,by this time its 4pm and it wasn't long till my bud had our first hit, after 8-9 mins BANG my turn a nice 2 1/2 lber came through the hole with those marble eyes just a cleaming, about 15 mins after that Bang my buddies turn a nice 1 1/2 lber,by this time its about 4:30 and were thinking boy oh boy are they gonna turn on,no sooner did we talk abot that and my bud missed one, then as he was saying he won't miss the next one BANG i iced a nice 3 1/4lber,i had 1 other hit and my bud had 1 more hit and thats all she wrote. all in all a great afternoon fishing with a great friend on an ever greater fishery, heres a pic of my lunch tomorrow after we get back from a morning fish still learning the pick thing sorry folks

hello all i was out again last night and after a 15 min walk lol my 4 wheeler comes out when we get another 2",anyway i spudded 2 holes approx 20' apart and started fishing, wasn't long and BANG 11" perch after tossing it back i walked over to the other hole and dropped her down, fished 5-6 mins and BANG missed it son of a gun tooker on the drop. i through another minnow on and gave it another 5 mins.....nothing so i went back to the first hole jig her 3 times, big high 3' jigs cause the night before they took it on the drop and this night as well so thats a pattern i wanted to stay with, the 3rd big jig my line started going to the side of the hole so i took up the slack and drove that 3/0 treble hook right to it hey a nice fat 3 1/2lber,heres a pic,not a bite after that,i think with the overcast and snow the darn eyes bit early oh well tonight ill go early .
