well, eels continue to move long after they're dead. some muscle thing going on there. But no matter, they're dead. BUT, you should have told him what your thoughts were on Monday at the Eaton Centre then A buddy of mine told me he was there for a show of some sort

that stuff truly is sexy, but it also costs a fortune. Wish I had that fortune though. That stuff in the video could probably pay for a new house! Stock = expensive...paint job.....even more expensive! They're one of those things that are only good to have a look at, and if you scratched/dropped one, you would literally cry! But AGAIN, it's about catching the fish and not the pretty gear that you own
-
Thanks a lot addikted. Will be in there shortly to get my hands on some maybe. Guess that even if its a really bad line I won't have to be sad because it's not too expensive
-
Wow, we have such different opinions on this line. Singingdog, how much memory is there in this line? and Blake, where abouts is Fishing World?
-
Thanks a lot for the opinions guys. Now I really should rethink whether I should get this line or not. The only thing that attracts me is the price tag, and the fact that it says MADE IN JAPAN on the spool. Although that made in japan thing is kinda cheesy, I think it was all of a sudden a confidence boost. All in all, it probably still beats hiding MADE IN CHINA somewhere in super fine print in the back or sides of the product.

Thanks a lot troutguy and addikted2fishing As for a place in Woodstock, do you guys know a place close to the GTA? and addikted, I don't think Lebaron carries these lines. I find that Lebaron is starting to almost get more expensive than BPS lately too. I'll guess it's because of the crippling Canadian dollar....

So the other day i saw on the BPS website that they had this new line that looked pretty promising for its price tag, and it was like 6 bucks for 1/4 pound of line. (It's like 1000 yards of 6lb line). I would really like to try it out, and I decided to visit BPS a couple of days ago, but only to find that there was no such thing at the BPS at Vaughan Mills. Is there anyone out there that knows where I could find this line so that I can try it out in the near future? Thanks in Advance!

Haha, Thanks for the input guys. I guess it's REALLY about who has the ability to catch fish and not what colour your gear is. And when I clicked that link, that even wackier reel might just actually go perfectly with this rod LOL. You can go brag to ALL of your friends that you use clown coloured gear and still catch more than them at the end of the day!

So I was looking at the 2009 catalogs and BPS seems to have just started to get carrot stix. They actually sound really awesome, and probably are really good rods for their price. They've even got the new styling cues with rods in the split grips, But then theres one thing I couldnt get over: The Wacky Orange Colour. . My question is, who knows what reel to put with these rods? Has anyone ever thought about buying these rods only to not know what reel to put onto it?

I have them. As for using them, I bought them and used them only a few times. For me when fishing for crappie, white seems to have outproduced it almost 3 to 1. As a result of that, I have a pack of glowing tubes that have been here since April, and I've gone through about 3 packs of white tubes. Maybe its just me though. Try it out and see if it works nicely for you.

Any Experience with Daiwa spinning reels?
EC1 replied to MCTFisher9120's topic in General Discussion
i have a crossfire, a couple of their generations back, and it lasts great. drag runs great everything is good. Cheap reel, a bit heavy, but it does its job. As for the one you're talking about, i got it a week ago, and it hasnt been treating me nicely at all. the bail doesnt seem to close, and i went back to BPS and they "fixed" it, but the bail still doesnt close occaisionally. Another thing is that even before it hits the water, im feeling gears grind while fooling around with it. I think i just got a bad one, and i'm going for an exchange. I say go for it before the 24th because theyre on sale right now. And if it really isn't treating you nicely when youre on the water with it, refund/exchange it. KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS ! -
Thanks everyone for all the info. I will be going back in the next couple of days to exchange it.
-
They probably only did it so that other companies that are close to bancruptcy won't just ask for money too. I can almost bet that they are going to get the money within the next week.
-
I actually just purchased a reel the other day, and before it even saw the water, the bail already won't close for me unless I push it down manually. Supposedly, the reviews for this was awesome, I guess next time I shouldn't trust the reviews too much. Daiwa TD Pro Is there any way I could fix this? Or am I better to go back for an exchange / refund? Thanks in Advance everyone!

Thanks a lot for the info you guys gave! but DAMN! the reel i saw was on sale. I felt so lucky when i was ready to go in there and pay 119 for the reel, and it was down to 79! I really wish I could have left my name there and they would call me when it was in stock then. Will be back there probably by next week, hopefully they stock that in asap, or i will have to get another size then

A few days ago, I stumbled upon a reel that i wanted to get as my own early christmas present. When asking an employee at the desk, it happened to be out of the 2000 size, which is mainly the size that I wanted to get. I asked when it will be restocked, and I am told that it should come in within the next couple of weeks. I was told to call before I go and everything. Overall, Good stuff! I was wondering if it is possible to have BPS put a certain item they're selling on hold for me? It takes me about 45 minutes to drive there, so I dont want to drive there and find out that its sold out again. And one more question: How does BPS treat returns / exchanges for broken products (whether they're my fault or at manufacturer's fault)

Very nice Will! You didnt bring Ms. Smith? Anyways, beatiful fish Oh wait. I have to fix the grammar / caps.

bags are the best, they dont spill if you drop it, and you have more hands if your bag can be carried around like a backpack.

pink tubes with white sparkly tentacles for the WIN . catches ANYTHING

How come all of the topics only show the first post as of now, and you have to load again to view next posts? Just saying, but can we have the old style of forum from before? My internet is kinda slow, and would suck to load each and every time to view a single reply. Thanks

nice stuff, but next time before you throw away all the head tail and bones away, try the cheeks! eater sizes have the perfect sized cheeks to eat, and man, they are probably the best fish meat ive ever had ! cheers!

i had one as a pet years back, that i actually was able to keep alive for almost 1 year. fish food that sinks works, and if you are really looking forward for them to grow, a minnow every few days keeps them happy ----FYI - NO MORE THAN 1 MINNOW IN 1 DAY ! i overfed it with 2 minnows in 1 day and it died on me right after LOL

The Triple T dock holds some monster LM waiting there, but i dont think you can go on their dock without renting dawn + dusk is like magic there, although you will need to be pulling fish out of some very very thick slop
