The morning started off for us with the alarm going off at 2:50AM Off to Port Darlington for our first leg of our "Fishing Extravaganza" I had to put the flip flops to this one! RSS Spin Dr worked great! Al and Sully with another great catch And we finished off our Lake O part of the day with a husband and wife double header Al holding my "HAWG" 23lb+ after another spectacular net job by Dave Part 2 of our Day-Long Point Bay, Lake Erie We met up with our family at the cottage and Al and I went out with his Dad for a few hours My 4# Walleye Al's 6.5# Rainbow and that concludes our awesome fishing day Tonights Dinner???You guessed it Fish coated in chips and some in cheese ritz crackers Deanna

Rob, I agree with Nitro man and the clear snubbers. I think in Lake Ont. with king salmon they are more common but I am not convinced they are necessary for Walleyes or Bows in Erie.I fish mostly LPB on Erie and I use spiderwire stealth 30lb braid on my dipsey rods and 20lb seaguar floro leaders and have never had a break off. I think the drag setting on your reel is probably more important.I set mine by letting out the dipsey to the depth I want turn on the clicker and tighten the drag until it just stops clicking. I think this helps lessen the shock as well. You said you have a couple try one rod with one and one without and see what happens Hope this helps Good luck Al SpoonMaster lures

One of my favorites is the SR5 shad rap, nothing fancy just black and silver. I have caught perch,white bass, walleye, pike ,large and smallmouth bass and a whole lot of sheepheads on them over the years. Al SpoonMaster lures

HH Last year I clipped the core to my big boards in the same spot a 3-4 times and had obvious wear on the sheath did not break but would not have been much longer. Maybe the clips make a differance ??????????? Al SpoonMaster lures

I use 30# mono for backing on my lead core rods. You want to run all the core in the waternot in the rod tip, or the lead will break in the sheath and then cut the sheath itself, or at least weaken it for an unexplained break off. Or put it all out and clip your in-line board to the mono not the core. I have 2 setups ready for spring a 2 colour and a 3 colour, then in the summer I add more colours as the water warms and fish go deeper. It gets kinda pricey but it sure catches fish. The Nanticoke hydro station is full of them, been catching them there since the early 80's. Schools of them come in and attack a school of minnows, jumping everywhere its really something to see. Toss a Shad rap into them and you can catch one on each hook at the same time. And they are pretty good with a little fish crisp too. Al SpoonMaster lures

I use flouro on all my rods, My downrigging rods have 14lb fireline and 10 ft of 18 lb flouro tied on. Other rods have 4 or 5ft leaders tied on. I use seaguar premier leader material and have never had a problem.
