  2. I hit the Credit this morning for a couple of hours and landed a really fresh looking male~5lbs...caught it on my first drift and thought I was going to have a banner day ....unfortunately that was it. Would have stuck around a bit longer but it was getting pretty windy.
  3. Hi All I need to get a 12' aluminum boat up to the Wiarton area next weekend and cartopping is not an option....any idea who would rent boat trailers or any suitable trailer in the GTA? I'll be leaving the boat there otherwise I'd look at buying one. Thanx
  4. I took some courses run by Canadian Power & Sail Squadrons back in the early 80's and fortunately I did some checking and only had to pay the cost of the card.

  6. I worked in the interior landscaping field years ago and I'd say Raf has it right. We used diazinon or malathion back then but they've banned a lot of the good stuff so I'm not sure if it's still available. Good Luck
  7. PostPost subject: Posted: Tue Dec 11, 2007 12:22 pm Bof Site Admin Joined: 03 Sep 2006 Posts: 364 Location: Northern Ontario, Canada Take it apart...clean every nook and cranny you can find with "goo B gone". Then drop some Zippo lighter fluid into each bearing (no need to remove them) put the spool onto the pin and work the fluid in...repeat until the thing ZINGS.... The lighter fluid is naptha which breaks down and cleans any risidual oil or packed grease inside the bearings...DO NOT OIL or re-grease...not ever. Just clean the reel and repeat this process at anytime the reel seems to slow a little, not that it ever will... If you are concered about damage, don't be...I own several reels all of which I use this process on and all of which start up faster than most of the same species. All of my reels are very well cared for and some that are in excess of 10 years old still look and run better than new!

  11. I think I read somewhere that the reason you can't target oos bass is because male bass guard their nests and even if you practice c&r, any time spent fighting these fish leaves the nest unguarded and the eggs vulnerable to predation from smaller species.
