  1. So I am looking at booking a waterfront site at Byng Island in late may after the start of walleye season so that I can fish from the site. The sites are on the west side of the island and where the smaller section of the grand river runs around byng island. Do these small sections of river hold fish? I would guess they do but want to make sureI am not fishing a spot that holds no fish. Something is better than nothing!
  2. PM sent
  3. For sure I would go for a boat that is not leaking, but in the case where the seller says its not leaking and it ends up leaking. Its good to know that it can be simple fix.
  4. I am just thinking at the moment about getting a 12 foot, or even a 10 foot (if that exists) aluminum boat for smaller lakes etc. I found some ads with decently priced boats, but mention small leaks. I guess most leaks are from rivets. The question is, how much does it cost to fix say one leaking rivet at a shop? Or can it be fixed at home and if it can be done at home, what material/tools are required. I have never owned a boat so I am not sure what I am getting into. Thanks
  5. congrats! Looks nice! Wishing you many years of trouble free, fuel efficient driving
  6. Im glad I read this because the only rod I have is a Shimano rod & reel combo I got from my RBC points lol. I hope it will last as long as your with many fish yet to come!
  7. awesome! Thanks. That's exactly what I was looking for. $105 to rebuilt the axle sounds fair considering a new one costs $600!
  8. So my car (Volvo xc90) started making a faint clicking sound from one of the axles and being a Volvo, they are very picky about quality parts and a brand new one cost an arm and a leg lol. Good thing I do most work on my cars, so I plan to take out the axle and get it rebuilt if the price is right. Are there any shops in the GTA that anyone has experience with. I live in Mississauga /Oakville area so something in this area would be great but willing to go further if there is a good rebuilder. Would hate to have a shoddy rebuild job done only to have to get it done again. Thanks
  9. So I got everything taken care of at the Oakville location
  10. Funny thing is I also got my health card renewed today and they accepted my licence, and credit card as ID. Then give me hard time over a legit insurance slip!
  11. Thanks for the replies. I will try my luck at the Oakville location tomorrow and hopefully the workers there are more level headed.
  12. Last year I bought a car for cheap as a project car. I registered it with a temp plate. Fast forward to today and I'm ready to put it on the road, and get insurance on it. I go the local Service Ontario (at Sheridan mall in Mississauga) and everything is fine until they look at the insurance policy number. They have never asked for proof of insurance ever for all the times I went to register my cars. This time they did out of the blue, so I called my insurance (Belair) and have them fax the temporary insurance slip to the Service Ontario. The fax comes with Belair's standard insurance slip which comes standard with a different format than the pink insurance slips that we carry around in our cars. The agents at Service Ontario refused to accept it even though it was faxed straight from Belair and it had all the information on it from my name, address, Vin number, effective date, policy number etc etc. They refused to accept because it did not look like the one we carry around. I call Belair back, and ask them to make a copy of the pink one that they would send me, and they tell me that they don't have that format of temporary insurance card in their system and the only way I can get it is to wait in the mail. So now, Service Ontario is blaming Belair, and Belair is blaming Service Ontario saying they never had this issue with their temporary insurance slips. And Im the one who is stuck in the middle and doing everything by the book! Belair is telling me to try another location saying they the Sheridan mall location is being too picky for no reason, and Service Ontario Sheridan Mall is not budging and want the original looking ones faxed to them that don't exist according to Belair. At the moment my only choice is to try another Service Ontario location or wait for the actual cards to come in the mail and then register the car. I'm just trying to figure out if its that specific Service Ontario location that is being a pain, or is it all around like that. if that is the case at every service Ontario, then us Belair customers are screwed as they wont accept our temp insurance cards
  13. lol no not doing drugs. definitely if there was a good warranty I would take the BMW as well, but buying a new one with warranty is out of the question considering the price tag on them. I work on my own cars, and I heard from BMW owners that BMWs can be a pain to work on and expensive. I wouldn't buy a older kia though. Out of the newer ones, definitely would only consider a new optima SX. PS, I am actually a Volvo guy. Volvo for life!
  14. same issue here. home computer I couldn't access the site and same at my bro in laws place. At work, it is fine
  15. So did you get the Sorento? Any pics? so we can all celebrate lol.
  16. Not joking, but I would take a Kia optima over a BMW 3 series anyday. oops I did it again! lol
  17. How is the ice on Lake Simcoe with the recent return of the cold weather? The last time I went which was a month ago, it was 2 feet thick and getting thicker. Will it still be ice fishable for the next 2 weeks? How about driving on it? Sorry its my first winter ever ice fishing, so not sure of how long it stays iced over for it to be safe. Thanks
  18. How thick is the ice right now? Sorry I just realized you mentioned it in your original post.
  19. +1 for Uhaul. cheapest price and good quality hitch.
  20. Just curious, why you didn't consider the new 2016 one?
  21. We rented a Kia Optima a few years ago, and have since rented a few sonatas, a vw Passat, and a BMW 328 this past weekend. The Kia was by far the best of the bunch with tons of options and pretty comfortable with amazing gas mileage. Great choice! Enjoy!
  22. would this method for roasting lamb leg as well?
  23. you still have tomorrow! its the last day of the season so there is still a chance.
  24. So the wife and I are walking to get into Walmart, and halfway through the crosswalk in front of Walmart doors, a young lady driving a mazda zooms though the crosswalk going at least 20+ kms and literally within a few feet of us. I am not the type to make a big deal of things like this, but I did make sure to stare at the car as it drove off just so that she realized her mistake . Guess what happens next?!? After driving off for about 50 or so feet, she rolls down the window and gives us the finger!! At that moment we kind of laughed it off, but in all seriousness, to do something that wreckless and to top it off with that . What would you guys do if that happened to you?
  25. Thought I would put this out there for those looking for a job, or lost jobs because of closing down of Target. I heard on the news that Loblaws / Shopper Drug Mart is expanding and there will be loads of job openings. Just a heads up!
