I like this spot as well; however, this year I have had no chance to visit it.
Maybe in 2-3 weeks when rainbows come from Erie in the rapid portion.
I even have the same U-Light setup with 4cm yozuris and also Salmo Hornets which work even better.

The best time to fish there is in the middle of September when the 70% of water from the reservoir is gonna be drained into Grand river. You do not even need a boat at that time. SM basses and pikes will attack your lures like crazy. You can see that on the lureme’s pictures (2nd and 3rd).
For a last couple of months have you given your key and clicker to someone? If yes. Do you really trust him? That's the easiest way to make a duplicate of your key, chip and clicker and use them or to sell them to requester. I mean some mechanics including Canadian Tire, Act Green & Ross etc,
Yes, they did. I was there as well. Maybe 12M creek data helps. https://wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/report/real_time_e.html?mode=Graph&type=&stn=02HA031&startDate=2017-09-04&endDate=2017-12-04&prm1=46&y1Max=&y1Min=&prm2=47&y2Max=&y2Min=
I fish from the railway embankment in the bigger portion of the lake. However, it’s prohibited. I think now, when Mountsberg is drained, you cannot find some deep enough spots for casting spoons or minnows. Unless you use heavy silicon baits on the offset hooks without waits.
You may also tried lake Belwood, it's drained now and pikes concentrated in the remaining deep areas. 2 weeks ago I had some luck in the Northern part of the lake, just before the bridge. I used spoons and minnow jerkbaits.
Rapala produces budget lures. What can you expect?
Rapala’s lures are not Megabass, OSP, Jackall etc

You buy what you pay for. I like Rapala $12CAN are not 26€
The caliper (good one) is around $150 X 2 = $300

Labour around $300
Do not go to your mechanic anymore
In Port Dalhousie I had god luck with medium or large size hammered Little Cleos - chrome with blue or green stripes. In windy days I use chrome Kastmasters or their clones. Using spoons is not easy way to get a brown there but it more professional way of fishing.
All novice anglers there use bottom row-bag or strimmer bottom bouncing techniques.
Not so many walleyes there; however, pike fishing is good on the opener.
The best place – close to Percy Boom Haven, just around a Heron Island (big willow tree with heron nests) .
For Walleyes you would rather go to lake St. John (Casino Rama)
Good luck!
But I think without exact locations (GSP coordinates) the success will be minimal, especially now on Rice. Junk buckets are everywhere on the Rice or Scugog, but not pickerels.
If you detach the hook(s) from the lure you perform blank fishing. Means no damage to fish at all, but if you use very thin braded fishing line you will feel when the fish attacking your lure.
