  1. I'm not not sure who has stock of anything anymore?? I bought my wife an Apple Watch and spent $500 but I saved a whopping $35.......oh wait it was a $35 gift card for the Apple Store so that will probably cost me another $200!!
  2. Toronto condo market is down 20% YTD. I fully expect that 1-2 years post COVID there will be an over supply of boats, motorcycles, cottages, & ATV's on the market as people return to their regular pattern of life - city living, European vacations, and Florida winter homes.
  3. LOL.....yes it is but who am I talking to other than a Filthy Oar (love that handle!!). We shot down to LaSalle to visit my mother in law in Sept but since the 2nd wave we have decided it best to stay put till things calm down.
  4. Still like to get out and see them - this time I thought I would bring a camera with me to the ground blind. Nikon D330s Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR1
  5. Excellent post - and yes we all have those people and those people get to experience one (1) of these trips with is and are not invited back. We now have 3 boats and 6 guys and we split everything equally from the time we leave the house. We drive 2 per vehicle and I arrive at the guys house with a full tank in my truck and a full tank in my boat and when we get back to Burlington we fill them both up and split the cost between us - but more often than not the other guy covers the cost. We change locations all the time in the boat but if you're in the bow you have the motor as well - period. On the last day over breaky we throw all our receipts in the pot - groceries, snacks, steaks.......whatever you contributed and we add in the cabin, dock fees, bait and taxes and deduct what you have already paid out (receipts) and we shuffle the money around the table making everyone whole again. We all round up when paying and round down when asking and it works well for everyone. We eat very well........very well - LOL. This year we had Wagyu steaks for one meal and a seafood boil for another meal. You may pick your friends but pick your fishing buddies well!!
  6. I agree welcome to Canada - beating you into submission one dollar at a time. This fee will go into the general coffers and nothing will change on the water.........idiots will be........err...... jet skiers!!
  7. Man that is one beautiful Otter. Although the PT6 is an amazing upgrade for them I love the sound of the old 9 cylinder radial
  8. Until Justin and his band of merry men find a way to get to it and pay for their spending spree - LOL
  9. People are not.......sorry.......people cannot go on large vacations - no cruises, no all inclusive vacations to St. Lucia so they are opting out for things to do outdoors - camping (tent or trailer), boating or a new motorcycle. Yes some people are being hit financially by COVID but many are not and are saving more money than ever - no eating out, no movies, no entertaining, no vacations, no cost of commuting..........hell my 407ETR bill went from $700/month to $0/month in just 1 month. It is all supply and demand. Go to a marina and they will have empty showrooms, and it was just trickling down into the used market. I saw this early and bought my used boat ASAP and sold my other boat 6 weeks later for a handsome profit - I sold my 11 year old boat for $4,100 more than what I paid for it in back in 2014. When else can you sell a toy for more than what you bought it for it.......and have a line-up of people willing to buy it. My buddy was looking and decided to suck it up and buy a new 2020 (Crestliner Fish Hawk 1750 c/w Mercury 115Hp) because he could not find what he wanted in the used boat market. All the 2021 boats are all coming in with a healthy price increase so he paid the $50k and bought the last one and had to drive to London to get it. These are interesting times my friend........interesting times.
  10. Hi Gordy, The French River is a beautiful historic waterway and definitely well worth the trip. I canoed the French & Pickerel Rivers more times than I can remember in my younger days 25yrs ago. We went to Bears Den Lodge two years in a row and the first year the fishing was fair, but in the second visit our stay coincided with a big thunderstorm with horizontal rain that shut things down for most of our trip. Unfortunately, in general I found the fishing in the lower French River (west and South of Hartley Bay Marina) to be hit and miss in that area. I liked Brennan Harbour - they run an amazing lodge but it was more big water (deep water trolling) fishing compared to French River where you are running worm harnesses, jigging in 30-35' deep (max). Both lodges are great, the main differences are how you plan on fishing.
  11. With COVID all bets are off. I find pricing is all over the place for all toys - boats, bikes, motorcycles, quads, and any outdoor sporting equipment. I bought my boat in June (mint condition 2017 Renegade with 90Hp Etec) and I paid a fair price for the condition of the boat. Definitely not a steal but also no where close to the price of a new boat either. I think that he had lots of stupid low ball offers on it thinking he had to dump it for the money but that was not the case so we had a discussion and negotiated a price and I had a new boat. Now I waited to sell my 2009 Explorer 1600 SC until July (I wanted to buy before I sold because I saw prices were all over the place). I bought the boat used in 2014 for $8,900 + tx and listed it in on Kijiji for $13,500 at 3PM on a Saturday and by 5PM that day I had 6 emails from people wanting to see it - 2 of them were again, stupid low ball offers and I not only deleted them I also blocked them as I do not have the patience to deal with asses. One guy said he wanted to come and see it that night and I agreed to meet with him after dinner. By 8PM we were hooking it up on his truck - he offered me $13k CASH. Now I did not have a chance to take anything off the boat so he got everything other than my personal fishing stuff but for that price he can have them - upgrades electronics & Nav card, downriggers, rod holders, all safety equipment and new trolling motor battery in 2019.
  12. I am looking for upgrades for my 2017 Minnkota Powerdrive V2 trolling motor. I know Minnkota has an upgrade for for this model that includes the iPilot head and a hand held remote control for $460 USD. I also saw a company that advertises an aftermarket GPS controlled system called ProNav - it looks easy to install/use but it is $975 USD (including remote)............or I can just kick in the additional $630 from the ProNav upgrade cost and buy a brand new motor for $2k that has iPilot and a build in transducer so I am failing to see the value in this upgrade. https://motors.johnsonoutdoors.com/Catalog/ItemContent.aspx?ItemNumber=1100920 https://www.radioworld.ca/POWERDRIVE-BT-70LB-60in-I-PILOT-US2 https://pronavmarine.com/product/pronav-angler-with-powerdrive-upgrade-kit/ The options are nice to have but ProNav seems expensive for what you get........I am less than $700 from just buying a new motor with iPilot. Looks like I am between the Minnkota iPilot upgrade kit - or - selling mine and upgrading to a new one with iPilot. I just do not see the ProNav value ($1,300 Cdn) for an upgrade kit. Maybe if it was $600 or $700 Cdn I could justify it but not at $1,300 AND there is no Canadian distributors. Had anyone bought either of these upgrades? Any thoughts or ideas??
  13. We go on an annual trip every year and have done so for the last 12 years. Some guys come and go but it is the same 3-4 of us that go every year. We hit a different camp every year and a couple we have been back to 2-3 times. Bears Den Mountain Home Lodge Brennan Harbour Air Dale - Little Miss (Fly In) Glen Echo Lodge Red Cedar Lake Lodge Mashkinanji Lodge It is a great tradition to have and something to look forward to every year. Our mantra is "Beer is like ammo......when STHTF I'd rather be looking at it than for it" - LOL

  15. I have a similar set up Starcraft 168 Renegade DC with a 90Hp Etec. I had me and a buddy on it on relatively flat water c/w 2 batteries, trolling motor, rods and tackle and I maxed out at 59kms/hr.......36.6 miles/hr. I have the standard factory prop and have done nothing to the boat. I measured it from my Lowrance HDS-7 and verified with my phone app. From my understanding a 4 fin prop would be better out of the hole but you would loose a bit on the top end?
  16. Only available in the US - I picked one up at Cabelas in Dundee, MI when I was there. Paid for itself tenfold already
