What's the water source? JF

I looked it up and here's what I found. http://www.richardcollins.net/renheat_aquathermal.html

I'm starting to get the Habs' strategy. That game nearly put me to sleep so I expect it did the same to the Flyers. Lull the other team to sleep with a crappy game, then come out guns ablazin' and catch them with their pants down and their egos up. I'd be surprised if the other Habs team doesn't show up before this series is over. JF

Had this awesome idea in carrying tackle for shore fisherman....
JohnF replied to rbaquial's topic in General Discussion
When the twin strap rigs first came out for golf bags we all tried 'em and loved 'em. Made the bag feel about half the real weight which is extra good for us old farts who insist on carrying. Of course nowadays all the companies have integrated the twin straps into most carry bags which is an indication of how useful an idea it really is. As for fishing gear I think for us creek waders a back pack is kinda awkward. Waist belts get wet, and chest packs get in the way of my casting arm. I plan ahead for my style of fishing for the day and either load up a small canvas shoulder bag from the war surplus store (preferably with an adjustable shoulder strap for deeper water) or just fill the pockets of a fishing vest. The vest is best unless the weather's warm. Yeaterday it was perfect. For stickbaits, crankbaits, spoons etc I use small plastic boxes which fit in my vest pockets. Plastics either in a box or ziplock bags held together by a snap ring. It limits the selection I can carry but for the most part I know what I'm in for that day so can choose accordingly. Hooks, leaders, floats etc go in small plastic or metal boxes that fit in the various pockets. The problem for us old farts is remembering which pocket contains which bit of gear. I'm sure you younger guys will do far less fumbling searching thru all the pockets for one little can, box or bottle. Yesterday was my first day out wading this year and I lasted over 3 hours before my legs and butt muscles outvoted my enthusiasm. It takes a few trips up the creek to get my river legs (the ones that deal with slippery rolling rocks) back. Of course our creek perambulations seldom last more than 4 or 5 hours nowadays. I'm not sure if that's a function of our advanced years or just running out of tempting spots to wade thru. JF -
Some might chuckle at you suggesting that Grapes thinks. In fairness I have to admit that once upon a time I liked him too, but when he started to fall in love with his own image he became a caricature of the old Don. Now he's just a bombastic ass. JF

There's usually a downside to most good things. I can always find something to do during the breaks so I won't have to listen to Mighty Mouth. JF

I was thinking the same thing driving home from the office tonite. And then the Hawks could make it happen again. Nostalgia time. JF

With a day like that I'd be afraid to take my new boat out. JF

Be careful with that. My wife would forbid me from playing with him any more. She worries about bad influences etc. JF

Of course ---- there should be some Charmin somewhere around if it's bear poop. JF

With some recoils I've found it easier to attach the rope to the flywheel first then leaving the handle end tucked into the flywheel wind on some spring tension. When you feel enough tension on the spring ease it back the other way guiding the rope end with a screwdriver or awl out the opening. Pull out some rope and tie a big fat slipknot to keep it from being wound back in. Attach the rope handle. undo the holding knot and let the rope rewind. Hopefully there will be the right amount of tension to keep the rope from flopping loosely and to allow a good full pull on the starter rope. One tip. If you're using a nylon rope (that's what we always used with sleds and lawn mowers) use a match or lighter to shape the end to avoid fraying and to make it easier to feed thru the holes etc. JF

I'm waiting for the punch line here. JF

Methinks you should be fishing more. JF

He's probably bolting on the trolling hardware as we speak. Should get some exciting reaction bites at 80 mph - if only he can get the lure to sink and stay down. JF

Did you check it to see if it tastes like bear food or what? That's how the serious trackers do it. JF

I'm confused. But that's nothing new. JF

Any human bones, hair or fingernails in it? That would hopefully rule out yer neighbours. JF

Congratulations. You may the very last person in the world who believes that, deep in yer heart. Most of the rest of us aren't sure what the habs can't do any more. They've made fools out of a lot of "experts" this year. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who won't be surprised if they falter, and a lot who will delight in them failing, but not very many foolish enuf to be absolutely certain they'll fail. JF JF

Next fall the same rioters will be booing the Habs if they don't keep winning. They're not as forgiving as Leafs fans. JF

Yeah. What was up with Gonchar. On that one goal (I think the short-handed one) he looked like a pylon standing there. That's not his style. Now that it's done I feel kinda bad for the Pens. They were one of my faves (after the leafs of course) the last few years but I just couldn't help getting caught up in the effort from the habs. If only they didn't have that dickhead laPierre playing for them I might really get to like this current team. Each time he got near Cooke I was hoping they'd beat the snot out of each other and get thrown out. I suspect the Habbies are earning themselves a lot of new fans for the long term, or at least a higher degree of respect from hockey fans generally. The test will be to see if it can survive the return to regular competition. One last observation. Credit to the Pens bench for not putting Cooke out for the last shift. Being the classy dude he is it would have only resulted in one of the habs being run headfirst into the boards or being cut down with a blind-side elbow. They went out like gentlemen. Shero made the trip to shake Gainey's hand with a minute remaining in the game. And Crosby was standup in his post-game interview, although a little clumsy, but that's forgiveable, given the jolt they'd had. JF

I know. I know. ------- really freakin' hard. It's a biker thang too. You haven't lived till you've tried to drive yer face thru a bee's arse at 80 mph. JF

Sweet! I was pulling for you when it kept bouncing off the .6 mark and then all of a sudden - POOF - 80 Nice. JF

That's kinda what I wuz thinking. JF

Dunno about that. I think he's staked a pretty good claim to a spot for next season rgardless of how they do the rest of the way. He's looking seriously top 4 or at worst #5 at the moment, even with Markov & Spacek back, at least IMNSHO. JF JF
