Just heard on the news tonite that the American gov't has said they'll accept the new hitech driver's licenses we're apparently getting with a chip or bar-coding or somesuch gizmo to contain citizenship etc. JF

I second that, Lew. And I gotta say I'm pretty envious too. It took me too long to figger out what the g2g thang was all about this year but I'm gonna do my best to make it next year. A warning before anyone offers to take me on board - I know zip about walleye fishing, or boat fishing at all for that matter, and most of my gear is sized to catch stuff about comparable to what you guys seem to be using for bait. The boat part I'm good with - but all those aerials sticking up? What's that about? I never see any real fishing rods on anything but tinnies. JF

You might want to postpone that trip. Apparently there's some kind of initiative to defend Canada's retailers from losing all custom to the US retailers due to the revalued buck. There have been a few news stories about it, and my son was telling me today that they went over to Buffalo the other day on the spur of the moment and really regretted it after spending literally hours in line to pay duty on $200 worth of purchases. It's not the same deal as usual crossing the border. Wait a while. I'm sure the dust will settle soon. JF

Jeez. It's not like we don't want a woman around the house, but they always grab the prime tv lounging spots in front of the tv, and they whine about clutter, and we can't burp and fart at will. I have a Craftsman power vac for picking up or just mulching leaves. It looks like a lawn mower with a huge catcher bag. It was running fine a few years ago but I haven't needed it for a while. I had a halfhearted attempt at starting it last year but it wouldn't fire. It's a 4 stroke and has compression and ignition and doesn't burn oil, although the plug is pretty gummy. I'm thinking a feller I loaned it to ran some heavy premix through it. He says it ran fine for him. I haven't bothered messing with the ignition or the carb so the adjustments shouldn't be whacked out unless the guy who borrowed it did something. So a fix might be as simple as a new plug but it's just in the way here. I realize it's out of your area but if you happen to be coming through Stratford stop by, or if you can talk someone coming this way into getting it for you, let me know. It's yours for the taking. Clean it up and it looks like new. It's had very little use. JF

Now that you mention it I've been having login probs for a couple of days. About every second time I tried to get in it would get hung up and give me an error on page message. I was using an old shortcut on my desktop. When I go to my Google start page to do it there are no problems. I can't try the old link now as I deleted it when it start getting even worse yesterday. Could be as someone says here there's a newer version or maybe just a change in the path at Google. If you're using an old shortcut or link you might try setting a new link from gmail.com or from google.ca JF
