  2. good answer jonnybass, that was a quick reply
  3. hummingbird has the side imaging, I think it is worth checking out. If you don't want he side imaging I'd probably go Lowrance with the external puck.
  4. very useful tool, bookmarked for future use
  5. I bought a cheaper one and the grip is not so good, If I was going to get another I would buy the better one with better grip. Also one with the swivel head.
  6. that last picture is nice, looks like lower buckhorn heading out to the lake.
  7. I did my test at the boat show a couple of years ago, I also wanted to know which ones I had wrong but they wouldn't show me but gave me a couple of hints and I think I know where my errors were. I think they should mail the results with the correct answers so people can learn something from the exam. congrats on passing the exam
  8. how about 'drop the Torpedo down and in 5 seconds you are in the zone' 'drop the Torpedo....5 seconds and you are in the zone'
  9. and if your post gets deleted don't post how upset you are and demand an answer, fell free to pm a moderator and they will try to explain. And if you are still upset TURN YOUR COMPUTER OFF AND WALK AWAY.........
  10. I haven't looked at them myself , but I think they have them at JB'S fishing depot as well as the St croix line if you want to hold them and compare them side by side.
  11. nice bunch of fish, your hard work payed off. Another great post EHG
  12. I believe it was an animated picture of a guy stirring a pot, maybe they will post it to show . It was a good one. nice fish btw
  13. try the Sturgeon river near Victoria Harbour, check the regulations when the season opens and give it a shot there. You can check with Backwater Tackle in Midland for advice and what you need to fish them.
  14. Here are a couple of suggestions, one is ,last year I think a couple of teams struggled to catch a catfish, sure would be nice if it was removed as a category. number 2 would be for allowing water shots of a musky with no logo(as long as they measure it) , I wouldn't like to see someone throw a big musky on the carpet or in the bottom of a boat with the logo just to get a photo. thanks
  15. sure is nice to see a report like this when there is still ice on the smaller lakes, thanks
  16. my parents own a cottage between Port Mcnicoll and the Martyr Shrine , it's close to the lighthouse on shore. I fish there about 5-6 times a year.
  17. as far as launches go there is one at the bottom of Coxwell Ave by the beaches area, another is Bluffers Park at the bottom of Brimley rd, both of those are concrete and very good launches. A third one is in Frenchmans Bay in pickering on the west side of the bay, this is a sand launch (no concrete) I saw someone get stuck there trying to pull there 16 foot fiberglass out with a minivan. Those are the only launches I'm aware of. at the beginning of April I will probably try fishing the warm water outflow in Pickering as long as I get my prop back in time.
  18. I had a roll up the rim moment today. One of the kids in my class showed up after making a Timmy’s run and naturally brought me one. After finishing it, I took off the lid to have a go only to realize that the rim had already been rolled! Oh well, maybe he can get the credit at summer schoo now thats funny..
  19. I spoke with a guy last week that was in an accident and had a Chev Envoy ext version as a loaner and he said the envoy was great on gas compared to the Cherokee. He said he going to sell it when he received it back because of the poor gas mileage. I personally have a 01 pathfinder and love it, it has the 3.5l v6 engine which tows well and is ok on gas.
  20. nice bunch of fish caught by you guys, great report.
  21. I know lots of Musky fishermen make there own fluoro leaders, but last year I decided to buy a few. I found them on ebay for about $4 each including shipping, the sellers id is charlier2753. They are top notch leaders for a reasonable price. a couple of tips would be to sharpen your hooks when you buy new baits and also as they become dull. also I use the palomar knot and have never had any knots pull out on me. good luck in finding that 50 incher.
  22. Awesome report. Those big number walleye days would be nice to try some day, thanks for posting.
  23. I found this on another site and found it interesting, I think I'm going to buy more plastics now. http://www.youtube.com/user/TheLureTour Should work now.
  24. you can also compare the weight of the motors, the 30hp 4 stroke weighs 172 lbs vs. 247 lbs for the 40 hp 4 stroke. I am not sure how much more speed you get out of a 40 vs 30hp .
  25. awesome video, that sure was one chunky laker.
