I have been real busy on the water the last couple weeks and have had litte time to get pics up but I thought this would be as good of time as any. The fishing has been great to say the least! Many big fish boated and released to fight another day. With the weather we have been having keeping on top of the fish has been tough, one day you find them in tight the next day way out. Our most consistant program has been with spin doctors and A-tom-miks. Wire divers set back 150 on a #2 have been hot for big fish as well as the 300' coppers. here is some pics enjoy Ryan Hare We Pound 'Em Sportfishing Just over 29lbs some prefish pics

Your friend is right they sound like magpies. No easy way to get rid of em'. Fancy blackbirds!

Great stuff guys! beauties! I have had a couple run in's with some crazys out there lately too! ..not to mention the sailboats that keep trying to kamikaze me!!!

Everything came on Spinny's and ATOMMIK's Ryan

yeah I have to agree with you there, I only buy stradics now too many troubles with cheaper reels.

Shimano is leaps and bounds over okuma. I used all okuma last year, even the drags on there high end series catalina and covectors reels have absoultly no comparison to tekota series reels and are close price wise. There wire rods are decent but thats about it. Its all relative to how much you use the stuff and how well you care for it. Okuma may work great for you.

I was able to get out and do some fishing on sunday hoping to get something big enough to enter in the derby. Although we didnt get anything that would break the 25# mark we did have a great day on the water. The Kings where on fire! We started running 4 rods but everything was firing and doubling and tripling up in the waves was tuning into chaos. We ended up just running 2 rods and the action was still steady and we couldnt help but doubling up! We stopped counting after 15 fish and surprisingly only lost a couple. Most fish went 21-25 lbs smallest went around 11lbs. Everything on flashers in around the 100ft mark. If your looking to get out for the derby, give us a try! Ryan Hare www.wepoundemfishing.com

I spent much of the last week down in whitby pre fishing for the scotty, being a completely new area to me I figured a few extra days on the water wouldn't kill me. Its tough sometime to find guys to fish with during the week but I managed to get a couple friends to come down and reel in some kings. The first day we went out we managed to find some decent fish. I was fishing with one of my best friends and he had never been rigging before but just moved to whitby. He was a prime candidate to smooth up with a few fish being he had a extra room for me to stay for the week. In the 4 hours we fished he boated (made him reel in all the fish) 3 nice kings a 15+ and 2 that would have went just over 20. Lost a couple more pigs that day. we worked 3 riggers and a chute rod to keep it simple. heres a snap of the smallest one, too spent to release. The next day I headed out with 2 more friends that seemed willing to reel in some kings. we got out and fished about 6 hours that day, mixed things up through that day working flashers and flies and spoons. running the 3 riggers and a mix of wire and boards. Everything but the boards went that day and the boys managed to double up on 2 kings over 20 and took another 18+. They even let me have a shot at a drag screamer which I impressively managed to loose :-[ :-[ boated a few more that day but the bite all but shut off by 10am. Thursday was the day things totally changed. With the front moving in the fish seemed to turn right off. The early morning bite was good but short lived and after taking a couple more decent kings they shut off and then the rain started. and cut the day short. So Friday rolls around and I'm a little concerned about the weather but hope that we can still find a active fish or 2 for the big fish Friday. Well it just wasn't meant to be.Totally crap the bed and only managed a couple lost fish. The water temps had totally changed and areas I found active fish where up to 6 degrees cooler. I was still marking good hooks but they wanted nothing to do with my spread, if that sounds at all right. Saturday I decided to work the same areas and see if the fish might be a bit more willing to bite. We worked and worked but could only hit stinking bows. out of desperation I took a run at some old marks and still only came up with bows. After just ot marking what I was looking for we again pulled up and headed back to where we started. Within 30min we hit one nice king just over 18. but that was all that we could scrounge up. Lesson learned from Saturday, I decided to not take anymore shots in the dark and fish what has been working and just hope we got our bites. We took a king early off the boards and things started to look up. Next the wire fired hard and we took another good king. Not 15 min after getting that rod back out it fired hard and when I grabbed the rod the fish screamed 400ft right away. I knew it was a decent king and came in at just over 27lbs. By 8:00 we had 3 decent fish and things looked good. The next 4 hours I couldn't move a rod. I moved out a bit from where I had been working and the wire fired again and was peeling line. I saw the team greenhorn jump up for the rod. I yelled DONT SET THAT HOOK! but it was too late he buried the rod and broke off the fish > I can tell ya the boat was real quite for the next 30min, when again the wire went and we boxed what would be our last bite that day.The front moved in and the rain started. We managed 4 decent fish much better then our day one but way out of contention. All and all it was a fun week of fishing . Ryan

you have a better chance of catching cats then you do eyes. Some great catting to be had through that stretch.

thanks thats kind of what I thought, I think I might replace it with a minn kota multi bank charger.

Im having some minor electric issues and was wondering if anyone else might have had the same type problem. when I hook up my onboard charger, it tells me the batteries are full when infact they are only 1/3 full. I have 2 batteries hooked up on a switch with an automatic charging isolator, last year I had no issues with the system. Ive checked the batteries, Ive switched the charging isolator, checked the connections. everything seems fine. even when I disconnect one battery, the charger still thinks the other battery is full. should I look at the onboard charger itself? Do they pooch easy? thanks any help appreciated

when using cores they should be put all out ( unless segmented), use a willis knot to tie the lines together (very very simple) Another alternative is to add snap weights to your core set ups to bring them down more. other then that you have a set up for each number of colours. I would suggest picking up the percision trolling handbook, its a great reference guide for cores, divers, copper and so on. 16 is nothing, give the boss a 500' copper to reel in!!! I just added a 20 colour set up, not for me to reel in of course

Looks like you have both the 200khz ( shallow water ) and the 50/200khz (deep water) transducer attached. Do you get the same reading from both transducers?? The position looks fine, maybe slight adjustment but not the reason for the wackey readings. Its likely a transducer issue, they pooch everynow and then. My suggestion would be to either take the unit to Lowrance and get them to test it, or buy a new 200khz transducer and give it a shot.

I spent a few days this week doing some promotional charters, had some total greenhorns out and they had no trouble falling in love with fishing! But when your having 30 + fish days whats not to love! We spent most of the time jigging for lakers and the action has been steady.working 80fow with tubes and spoons has been the ticket. Lots of fish over 10lbs and a couple pigs. The whities have also been around in the bunches and provide some steady action inbetween lakers. In 4 days on the water we've boated over 150 fish. The fishing is going to be hot for the next couple weeks, if you have the chance get out and take advantage! Tightlines Ryan Hare We Pound 'Em Fishing Her first fish ever

Good stuff Rich!! those are some sweet resi browns! bet your happy with the move..

Well if you dont claim to be an expert then why make a comment about Superior being the only stable Lake trout population in Ontario? There is no shortage of lakers in Lake O. Its nothing to go out target them and pick up 10-15 fish in a half day and its common to get fish above 15lbs.In Nov the Niagara river has 1000's and 1000's of lakers running the river to spawn, they become a pain when fishing for steelies! They are never abused because no one wants to eat big lakers anyways. The Americans stock tons of them and they thrive on the bar with the abundance of bait. The man in the pic releases more fish a year the most guys catch in two!!!

For the last few days we have been spending the evenings searching for cats. I love targeting cats when I can, they are pure muscle! The first evening was wet and windy but we managed a couple well over the 15# mark. The following evening was the same with 2 big cats around 18# and 20#. The kicker was a hugh 15lbs pike that hit my buddies cutbait. Came in like a log!!! but what a pig. Dead batteries that day but he has a cell phone shot I'll see if I can get it. Today with the wind we fished the afternoon for a couple hours and still did well with a 18# and 14# and some small pike to boot. fun way to burn a couple hours!!! tightlines Ryan Hefty male channel Hungry male Channel A cutbait drum Dan with a good one

Thanks guys!! not at all, we fished the 80ft mark most of the day and it was steady.

Finally got a chance to get out and fish on Simcoe, been busy chasing salmon and waiting for the new prop to come in ( just wear, didn't hit anything) We got out around 730-800 and ran over to the clan. Stayed to the outside the best we could. Dan got into a couple whities and a decent laker right away, well I kept dropping fish We both did well using tubes and spoons, boated 10 or so and lost..... way too many : even mix of lakes and whities. The lakers fough like champs today, taking big line peeling runs. One actually almost pulled the rod right out of my hand! Guys working riggers out there today did well too, I saw many hook ups and even a couple doubles. some great fishing to be had right now tightlines Ryan Hare Dan with a pair of whities This laker was heavy, must have been packed with bait!

Some beauties there Tony good shootin' PS: nice shirt!

Fished east of the bar this morning over 200fow. Marked fish fairly steady all morning, switched things around until the rods started firing and it was steady for the 4 hours we fished. Warrior and dreamweaver Firecracker was hot and took most fish. Couldnt get the wire to go, all fish off riggers from 60-100 ft down. Nothing very big, but we did manage to pick up an atlantic with a hair lip, quick pic and back it went. tightlines Ryan
