  1. I was thinking regs when buying but they are also great to push off stumps and rocks when in the shallows.
  2. Ok, so I finally bought my first boat a 1993 15 foot cobra bass boat with a 90 Evenrude tracker pro ( pics to come ) and have been going through all the motions to make it official. My first trip was to the MTO to get a plate for my home made trailer $35. Next to a Canada service building to do the pleasure craft licence document. I was under the impression that this is where I pay taxes on the boat but that was not the case. Am I missing a step? Next was saftey gear I price compared BP and CT and I ended saving a bundle at CT. 3 clip Life jackets, entry price CT $20 BP $40 7 foot boat oars CT $26 BP $40 Container with rope, light, whistle ect CT $9 BP $29 1000000 candle power light CT $12 BP$20 15 foot marine rope CT $13 Bumpers CT $9 each or 4 for $34 Solid looking trailer lock CT $9 Keep in mind the BP gear may or may not be better quality but I was looking to save $$$ I was also wondering about marine audio? I was looking at the housing for the sterieo witch looked prettey water proof and was wondering if I could get away with a car sterieo? As for steakers I was thinking of installing them under the deck where they should stay dry. Is this just a bad idea? Can I get speaker covers that are water proof for my car speakers? Other than Audio Im installing battarie guages for the trolling and starting motors. I should be on the water by Friday, ready for the warm weather. As always thanks for all the help. Still trying to load pics.
  3. LOL! If the boats 15 inches I got ripped off real bad. As for Steve at cover of Keswick, he was great and well priced. It looks like I will not get my wet run after all but i will at least launch the boat to test the electronics and trolling motor. Im picking up the boat tomorrow. Ill post some picks as soon as I get her home.
  4. 15 footer fits in my garage.
  5. Steve at coves of Keswick marina.
  6. I have had a mechanic look at the boat and he said everything looks great. I would feel foolish buying a boat I have never taken for a ride. Any thoughts?
  7. It's a 15" fiberglass bass boat.
  8. Hey all, I want to take a boat im looking at buying up in Keswick for a wet run. I never go on the water this early so im not sure what to expect like ice or debris from the spring run off in the water ect. Is there a preferable launch to do the test run the safest? Thanks.
  9. cottagelink.com or northerncomfort.com has all the choice you need.
  10. I'm in the same situation right now. From what I have found so far you need to pay PST on the boat when transfering ownership. Also a one time registration fee of $250 for the trailer. Anyone please correct me if im wrong. Goverment web sites suck!
  11. yeah, I would be picking it up and dropping it off in the summer and storing it in the winter.
  12. Hi all, Im looking to store a 17" boat anywhere east of Mississauga. Any suggestions for lots. Price helps. Thanks Steve
  13. The problem is these scams target people with lower budgets who are trying to get the most for thier money. When a good deal comes up you need to jump and some trusting people get taken.
  14. 15. I have been on all the classifieds looking for a used boat and two weeks ago a came across a boat that seemed too good to be true. I got a reply to my email that seemed scripted and the more questions I asked the more pressure sales and red flags went up so I let it go. Now just a few minuests ago I recieved the exact same email on another boat that seemed too good to be true. Price: 4000CAD. First of all, please DO NOT REPLY to this e-Mail if you don't have the amount available, or if you don't intend to be serious. I am from Orlando, Florida. This is the second time I tried to sell the boat. First time I tried eBay. Because I always use 100% safe methods, I've sent the boat through eBay Vehicle Protection Program to a buyer from Alaska. I paid all the shipping fees from my pocket and when eBay requested the payment to be made, the buyer refused to pay because they didn't have the full amount available. Now I have the boat in eBay's hands and it's ready to be delivered to the next buyer. If you want to purchase it and only if you are a serious buyer then send me your complete name and address for shipping. The delivery time will be only 3 days and the boat will be delivered at your home address full registered in your state and under your name. Im not sure how this scam works but heads up to anyone who might run in to this. Steve.
  16. Hey all, the hunt is on for my new used boat and I could use a little help. Im trying to keep the price down near $4000 and for that im probably looking at an early 90's boat and motor. My question is what are typical problems asociated with a boat this age and how do I spot these problems on inspection. So far I have been on all the clasifieds every day and there is a pretty good amount to choose from. Would anyone recomend going to a dealer? Thanks Steve.
  17. I rent a lot of 9.9s and find just above idle best for muskys this time of year. Always take wind and current in to consideration. Mostly I get a feel for how the bait is moving from the rod tip vibration and rod bend. Good luck and post pics.
  18. Heading out to balsam with some buddys for two days of muskie hunting. Thinking of Balsam Lake Trailer Park & Marina or renting from rosedale and camping else where. Any suggestions on camping/boat rentals? Never fished this lake befor but from looking at the map I figured weed spend the two days getting to know the north east side. Am I better off in a different GENERAL area? Any sugestions would be appeciated. Thanks
  19. WOW!!!!
  20. Thanks misfish.
  21. My best man and I went out the day befor my wedding up to Cameron Lake for a few hours of Musky fishing. After about an Hour and a half we moved two fish burning bucktails on a out side weed line drift. Secound drift I hit right at the spot I missed a fish on a botched figure 8. She came in at only 34'' but was a clean fish and had lots of fight in her http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn211/m...ng/IMG_1700.jpg http://s305.photobucket.com/albums/nn211/m...¤t=IMG_1700.jpg The second fish came half way through my victory cigar. This one was a little bigger at 40'' she came from almost the same spot. Outside weed edge with a nice deep drop off close by. http://s305.photobucket.com/albums/nn211/m...¤t=IMG_1703.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn211/m...ng/IMG_1703.jpg http://s305.photobucket.com/albums/nn211/m...¤t=IMG_1708.jpg http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn211/m...ng/IMG_1708.jpg Now the wedding and honeymoon are over im looking to go strong into late summer/fall musky fishing. To answer a question I have asked on this board I would go 80 rather than 65lb braid. I had each on two reels and lost one lure on a mid cast tangle on the 65 spider wire. Also moving to power pro because spider wire slips through plainer boards. Anyone have problems with Musky Mayhem floro leaders? I had two snaps break on one trip! Hope the pics work. Enjoy!
  22. I was out last wednesday. I rented a boat from a marina down dilon road ( keep heading straight at the y split to kill bear ) I was targeting musky but only had a 6 pound pike and a sun burn to show for 6 hours fishing. The rental was $100 for the day and half days could only be between set times. The best spot I found is right ahead of the marina look for a shell sighn on the rocks. There are some big rock reefs with weeds at the ends down 10-15 feet. Tuff water to fish! Good luck.
  23. By the looks of that pic id be more worried about ghost pirate ships lol
  24. Any marina suggestions for rentals in the area?
  25. Ill be up at kill bear provincial park on Wednesday and was looking to do some musky fishing on a lake other than G bay because I rent tineys. Any suggestions?
