  1. That's a beautiful picture Matt, and it won't be much longer now !!
  2. If your in the Toronto area, Mountain Equipment Co-op probably has the best selection of anyone, and all their gear is top quality too. www.mec.ca
  3. Jigger, I've been using 130 pound Seaguar fluoro for muskies for 3-4 years now and would never go back to the wire. It's very fish friendly as it doesn't cut into them when they roll in the line, but what I like best is the fact that it doesn't kink when it twists. Wire leaders can be expensive when you need to keep replacing them. The fluoro can take alot of abuse before it needs to be replaced. If you decide to make your own, be sure to buy good components to go with the fluoro. Myself, I like the Spro swivels and #5 Stringese snaps. JR put me onto the fluoro leaders a few years ago and I never looked back.
  4. Sounds like there's gonna be enough of us to form a convoy this May
  5. Thanks Tom, his bloopers are always good !!
  6. You'll see myself & my brother in the same area that weekend....look for the green / beige Crestliner and good luck with your trip.

  8. See you in 47 ½ hours Dax
  9. Thats a great idea CC, and hopefully it'll make a few more folks think about bringing their garbage home with them. Funny how folks have no problem carrying all their fishin gear with them, but can't seem to be able to carry and empty coffee cup or worm box. I know I've always got a bunch of plastic bags in the boat with me.
  10. Thanks holdfast, that was an excellent read. And Marc, good luck to your Dad today
  11. That's some funny stuff Terry, I'd forgotten all about that Mind if I save it ??
  12. I'd fold a blanket to put in the bottom of the boat for him to lay on too, so he'll be comfortable if your on the water for awhile.
  13. Thanks Carl, sure is nice to read about a successful day out trolling the big waters. Nothing wrong with driving a couple hours to get into a bunch of fish like that.
  14. Hey Pete, we've just got a policy around here...... ......if there's no pictures of the brutes......it never happened
  15. I remember driving to the musky Odyssee 4 years ago this weekend and it was one of the worst freezing rain days I've ever seen. Took about twice as long to get to St. Catherines as usual and there were cars crashed all along the QEW. Guys driving 80 KPH when 30 was too fast.... I never count on spring being here till May, and then it's sometimes doubtful too.
  16. Thanks Dave, that's more than generous of you !!
  17. Landing a 45 inch pike thru the ice is a pretty impressive accomplishment Pete, be good to see some pics of that brute !! I spose it'll be in the magazine ??
  18. WOW, now THAT'S an impressive fish....a real beauty !!
  19. You gonna join us for breakfast Richard, we'll be there at 7:00 ??
  20. We were all pretty smug when winter didn't arrive till February this year, but it looks like were making up for it now It was the coldest February in 27 years in this area, and so far it's been the coldest April in the last decade.
  21. You know my schedule Meely......I don't have one Anytime you want to go chase some toothies, just gimme a call and we'll do it.
  22. Hey Meely, good hearing from you again..........finally !! See you at the show.
  23. Looks like Mother Nature still wants to show us who's the boss around here. Sposed to be getting around 4 inches of snow Wednesday night and into Thursday in the Toronto area and varying amounts everywhere else. Doncha just luv springtime in Ontario ??
  24. A couple real beauts there CC, that's what it's all about !!
  25. An old friend of mine owns Havelock Taxidermy and has been in the business for 20 odd years and does very nice work. He did this one for me about 10 years ago and it still looks as good today. I would never normally keep a large fish like this but the bait snagged her gills and she bled out and died, so I figured she would make a nice mount and had it done. Havelock isn't too far north of you so it's something to keep in mind. http://www.havelocktaxidermy.com
